HNewsWire-Top Democrats are facing mounting calls to return the “dirty” money they raised at high-priced fundraisers hosted by disgraced New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
Trump-bashing California Senator Kamala Harris and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren pocketed tens of thousands of dollars in liberal fundraisers with the help of accused woman-beating sexual assaulter Schneiderman, the Daily Caller reported.
In September 2011, Schneiderman hosted a fundraiser for Harris. In October 2011, Scheiderman and leftist billionaire George Soros co-hosted an event to raise money for Elizabeth Warren’s senate campaign.
Republican John Kingston, who’s running against Warren for her Massachusetts senate seat, demanded that the self-proclaimed women’s rights advocate condemn Schneiderman and return donations she raised with his help.
Kingston said: “Condemning harassment and abuse cannot be a partisan issue and Warren should immediately condemn Schneiderman, return the campaign cash raised by him and call on her fellow Democrats to do the same.” He added:
“Unfortunately, Sen. Warren has a history of hesitating or refusing to stand up for women when the culprits are Democrats. Sen. Warren waited until the very last moment to call for sexual harasser Al Franken to resign and refused to condemn Democratic Senate Leader Stan Rosenberg when he was embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal.”
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who resigned on Monday night, will be replaced by Barbara Underwood, the state solicitor general.
Underwood, who has been the solicitor general since 2007, was a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall and has argued 20 cases before the Supreme Court. She will be the acting New York attorney general.
The New Yorker published a report on Monday in which four women accused Schneiderman of physical abuse. Schneiderman — whose office became known for its work against sexual harassment, including prosecuting the film director Harvey Weinstein — was immediately asked by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to step down.
Two women spoke on the record, saying Schneiderman repeatedly hit them during the course of their relationships with him in recent years, and never with their consent. Neither woman filed any police complaints, but both said they sought out medical attention and confided in people close to them about the abuse.
A third woman who also was involved with him told her story to the other two women, but said she was too frightened to come forward. A fourth woman said Schneiderman slapped her when she rebuffed him, but also asked to remain unidentified. The New Yorker said it vetted the third woman's allegations, and saw a photo of what the fourth woman said was her injury.
The two women who spoke on the record, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, both said the physical abuse escalated over time, and that Schneiderman also was a heavy drinker. The Associated Press is identifying the women because they agreed to tell their stories publicly.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued a statement on Monday calling for an investigation, and for Schneiderman to resign.
"No one is above the law, including New York's top legal officer. I will be asking an appropriate New York District Attorney(s) to commence and immediate investigation, and proceed as the facts merits," Cuomo's statement read.
Side note:The hypocrisy has risen to the level of criminal injustice, these high profile DAs, FBI agents, add both Democrat and Republican elected officials that seem to think they are above the law, and the common people will just have to stand down or risk being put in their crosshairs.History has shown the American people that bad man in high positions hurt innocent people and the poor, it's time for a big change, and Donald Trump is arranging that meeting with bad guys-thank God...
