Revelations from a new book, Peril, by Bob Woodward and Rob Costa, reveal just how deep the spiritual rot in the military goes. In the days after the January 6 protest, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, promised, in the event of a war, to give aid and comfort to China. According to the Washington Post, after the Capitol protest, Milley sent secret communiques to the head of the People’s Liberation Army, promising that “If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”
In a decent country such a brazen act of collusion with a foreign power by one of the most prominent leaders of the armed forces would be met with immediate and unrelenting backlash. Instead, this betrayer of the Constitution and the principle of civilian leadership of the military is a liberal darling. At the inauguration, Joe Biden thanked Milley for undermining President Trump in the final weeks of his presidency.
Milley, before reaching out to China, sat down with the service’s top officers and demanded from them what amounted to an oath—none of them would launch a nuclear weapon without his approval. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff went behind the President’s back to secure control over the nation’s most important weapons.
Our generals are losers abroad, and grifters at home. They parrot MSNBC talking points on Twitter and grovel before Fauci. This is bad enough. But Milley’s actions show that America’s top military officers have reached another level of delusion. They fancy themselves a new praetorian guard to protect the nation—as construed by elite editorial boards—from the people’s elected representatives.
The military establishment is gloating now and flexing its muscle. After the election, outgoing Syria envoy Jim Jeffrey admitted that the Pentagon and State Department had consistently lied to Trump about troop levels in Syria. Before he left office, Trump’s order to have troops out of Afghanistan by January 15 was overruled by the establishment. Trump, far from trying to start a war on his way out of office, sought to end one.
White House spokesperson Jen Psaki claims that Milley was following “constitutional orders to prevent unlawful military actions.” According to her, Trump “was implementing an insurrection.” The claim that Trump wished to start a war to distract from the election, upon which Milley based his collusion with the Chinese government, was an utter lie. Nor was Trump implementing an insurrection; the FBI has dispensed with this myth, finding that there was no coordinated plot associated with the Capitol riot.
There will be no hearings, serious journalistic investigations, or outcry from the establishment.
Milley will go unpunished.
He will retire with full honors and full pension.
The Pentagon will never reform itself from the inside.
The entire military-industrial complex (MIC) must be dismantled if we are ever to have again an armed forces consistent with the Founders’ republican virtues.
The AmericanRight must be willing to starve the Pentagon of its lifeblood. The most important asset the people have is their bodies. Americanmothers and fathers need to stop feeding their children into the machine. Heartland American boys and girls have better things to do and better leaders to serve under. The American people must go on strike until the generals once again learn to subordinate themselves to the people.
GOPpoliticians must assist their constituents in this noble task. They must find real courage and demand radical institutional change. This starts with deep and abiding budget cuts for the Pentagon and the rest of the MIC. The Founders’ distrust of permanent standing armies must be restored.
America should once again rely on true citizen soldiers for national defense.
The world has changed. America’s grand strategy must change with it. Our current conventional force cannot defeat insurgencies anyway. The proliferation of nuclear weapons, on the other hand, means that “Great Power conflict” is virtually impossible. There is no need to keep buying weapons systems designed to fight a redux of WWII. Our bases overseas are a relic of the liberal humanitarian world order. Having 20,000 troops in Okinawa didn’t prevent the Chinese Communist Party from using Twitter bots to stir up hysteria over Covid. Our dozen aircraft carriers didn’t stop our politicians from implementing lockdowns and vaccine passports. America’s air bases in Turkey, Germany, and Diego Garcia didn’t keep the Taliban from retaking control of their country.
America was never the world’s policeman. An empire in the name of democracy and freedom was always an idiotic idea.
Widespread gun ownership is a much better guarantor of American liberty than any SEAL team or aircraft carrier. The Militia Act of 1792 is a much better model for national defense than our current setup. The act enrolled every able-bodied male citizen between the ages of 18 and 45 into the militia. It also demanded that each of these men provide themselves with a “good musket or firelock” and “a sufficient bayonet.” Far from trying to take away firearms, the Founders demanded every American male citizen possess one.
Self-sufficiency in arms is the foundation of liberty, national sovereignty, and independence. Tyrannies never arm their citizens; republics always do. Our security as a nation should not depend on over-hyped “super soldiers.” The “silent professionals” with their podcasts, book deals, and TV appearances play, in the grand scheme of things, only a very minor role in protecting the life, liberty, and property of the American people.
The unmitigated corruption in the leadership of the armed forces is a sign of deep cultural rot. The patriotic flag-waving of the post-9/11 response has been used to great harm against the American people. An unwillingness by the political class to criticize and hold accountable those charged with defending the nation has led to our current spiritual crisis. America can’t win overseas, her generals sell out her leaders to foreign powers, and the retired members of this elite class do nothing but gobble up fat checks from the corporations they once purchased from. This is an untenable state of affairs.

It’s tough to picture how shocked the disciples must have been when they saw Jesus. Suppose you saw someone being brutally killed and buried, and then three days later you saw that person alive and well. What would you think? In most cases, the word that means “Greetings!” also means “Rejoice!” It was a welcome, but when it came from a loved one that his family and friends thought was dead, it meant even more. That call to be happy wasn’t just for the two Marys; it was for everyone who would believe that Jesus had defeated death. Death was our biggest worry, but Jesus took care of it. Happy holidays!
They put their hands on Jesus’ feet and praised Him. If they were not sure before that He was worthy of worship, they are now sure. Even though the world did terrible things, He still won. That should give uswho follow Him a lot of faith!
“Do not be afraid!” was one of the most regular things Jesus told the women. He then gave them a job to do. They were to tell His brothers to go to Galilee. It’s very important that He now calls them brothers. in Romans 8:29, the apostle Paul says that those God knew ahead of time would be made like Jesus so that Jesus could be the first of many brothers. Christ is our brother, and God is our father. God took us in and made us part of his family through the blood of Christ. Try to understand that!

“I’m Tired Of Being Trans” – Minneapolis Shooter Confesses “I Wish I Never Brain-Washed Myself”

According to a report in the New York Post, the transgender mass shooter who murdered two children and injured seventeen others in a horrific attack on Christians at Minneapolis’ Annunciation Catholic Church and School wrote in a disturbing manifesto that he was “tired of being trans” before taking his own life.
I hold on to my long hair for the sole reason that it represents my last vestige of my trans identity. Being trans is exhausting, and I regret brainwashing myself. Journalists from the New York Post translated the manifesto written by transgender guy Robin (Robert) Westman, who is 23 years old.
According to the transgender man, cutting his hair would be a humiliating setback and may perhaps lead to a change in his character, which could result in his being reported. As usual, it obstructs my path. On attack day, I will likely chop it.
A “scary, horrible monster” who preyed on children was one of Westman’s violent fantasies detailed in his demon manifesto, which also made allusions to the Sandy Hook shooting and his appreciation for it. A few of the twisted sentiments that appeared in his pistol magazines were “kill Donald Trump” and “for the children.”
Similar to the symbols utilized by the violent worldwide Satanic cults such as the Order of 9 Angles and764, the Minnesota shooter affixed satanic symbols to his weapons and magazines. Thousands of members all around the globe are determined to bring about the end of the West as soon as possible.
Update: Sledgehammer-Ready Pennsylvania Governor’s Mansion Arsonist Was Prepared to Defeat Shapiro
Cody A. Balmer, a hospitalized Pennsylvania governor’s mansion arsonist, told police he would beat Gov. Josh Shapiro with a sledgehammer if he saw him. Balmer has been revealed as a dead-ender with a worrisome assault charge and a mother who sought to persuade police to arrest him before the arson attack.
Balmer was charged with attempted murder, aggravated arson, burglary, terrorism, reckless endangerment, and nighttime prowling in Dauphin County District Court. Balmer made odd faces for the media upon entering and leaving the courthouse, crossing his eyes and sticking out his tongue. It seems normal: Cody Balmer entertained reporters as he was taken to court on Monday. While police are still investigating a motive, Balmer told them he “harbored hate” for Shapiro and would beat him with the tiny sledgehammer he used to break windows and break into the mansion if he saw him. Although Balmer struck on the first night of Passover, police have not claimed he targeted Shapiro because he is Jewish. Brand emblem
On Monday, police said Balmer was hospitalized for a non-crime-related medical issue. AP reports that Balmer denied having any mental illnesses when addressing the judge, but the New York Post reports that he acknowledged a dangerous mental health issue and that associated medications “led him to different types of behaviors.” Balmer’s mother informed outlets that he has bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and stopped taking his pills. Her four police departments failed to get him “picked up,” she said, days before the arson. Christie Balmer told AP, “He wasn’t taking his medicine, and that’s all I want to say.
In 2023, Balmer was charged with assault for striking relatives, including his wife, and stepping on his 10-year-old son’s injured leg. He had a court appearance this week. It’s unclear if Balmer has children. He told the judge “a lot.” Politico claims three. He firebombed two rooms with gasoline-filled beer bottles after an hour of wandering. (Community Media)
Police first said Balmer used “homemade incendiary devices” in the early Sunday morning attack. Some could have imagined reasonably clever firebombs, but Balmer told police he poured lawnmower gas into Heineken beer bottles and went toward the estate for an hour. He broke a piano room window and threw the first Molotov cocktail inside after scaling a 7-foot fence. He then broke inside the house, burned the dining room, and left.
While police were alerted of a breach before the fires started, they failed to find Balmer before he worked and before he scaled the same fence and escaped. As of yesterday, Balmer was caught at an unidentified Harrisburg location a dozen hours after the attack. He turned himself in at state police headquarters after telling his “ex-paramour” what he did and begging her to call the police.
The judge heard from Balmer, a certified master mechanic on Facebook, who is unemployed and living with his parents for a year. Former Army Reservist Balmer was a construction equipment repairer (MOS 62B) from 2004 until 2012, never deployed, according to Philadelphia’s WPVI. The Army Reserve wouldn’t identify his discharge. His mother said Balmer had schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but stopped taking his medication. (NYPost’s James Keivom)
His attorney said Balmer “fallen behind in his mortgage due to several hardship factors, including injuries from an auto accident leading to his inability to work and maintain an income and a separation from his wife.” He separated from his wife in February after custody fights. Balmer informed police he took a bottle of pills to commit himself in the domestic violence incident.
After every high-profile official attack or mass murder, left- and right-wingers turn to social media to blame the “other side.” Like a bipolar schizophrenic, Balmer’s social media profile is muddy. One authoritative analysis, by right-leaning Daily Mail, concentrated on his anti-Biden statements, although fresh posts suggest a leftward tilt:
Balmer claimed on social media that he was a “registered Socialist,” yet his voter registration is unaffiliated. He skipped 2024 but voted in 2022.
He vaguely criticized Trump during a gas price discussion: “I said the same (crap) when Trump became office. Since they’re all bad, I don’t pick favorites.”
He shared “Stop Being Democratic or Republican.” meme.
In 2020, after Ahmaud Arbery was killed down in Georgia after racing through a neighborhood and being chased by neighbors (whose use of deadly force many conservatives also felt excessive), he supported the Black Lives Matter movement.
With Balmer talking up to police about so many parts of his attack, it’s remarkable that they’ve published his stated hatred of Shapiro but done so without explaining why.
Update: WI Teen Charged With Murdering Parents In ‘Neo-Nazi’ Trump Killing Plot
WI teen is accused of killing his parents as part of a “neo-Nazi” Satanic plot to kill Trump.
Local police in Wisconsin say that a 17-year-old boy killed his parents as part of a crazy plan to kill President Trump and violently take down the government.
A press statement from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department says that Nikita Casap, the teenager, has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of his mother and stepfather.
Police who are looking into the case say that Casap had a crazy plan to kill his parents and use his inheritance to pay for a plot to kill Trump and start an anti-government uprising at the same time.
He wrote about it in a manifesto called “Accelerate the Collapse.” This was made public in the Eastern District of Wisconsin in a federal statement that had been sealed.
The teen, who called himself “Awoken” and “accelerationist14,” explained how he planned to kill Trump and cause chaos across the country.
He also wrote that he wanted to start a race war to “save the white race from Jewish control,” make bombs, and kill “Jewish politicians and billionaires.”
When the police read the messages on Casap’s devices, they found that he had talked to international partners about how to get explosives and drone weaponization kits to deliver poisons and explosives. He was also planning a way to escape to Ukraine after “the job” was done.
“There’ll never be a perfect revolutionary situation that pops up out of nowhere,” Casap wrote. We need to make a revolutionary situation happen on our own. I agree with you that terrorism can only work if it goes on for a while.
In short, he said, “huge amounts of violence will be needed.” He also said, “The days when we could vote for Hitler to save us are long gone.” Let’s not wait any longer. Today is the best day to attack, and tomorrow is the next best.
He also wrote, “It’s time for us to show the way to the System’s fall.” You should do everything you can to bring down America or any other country you might live in. We can only save the White race this way. The only way out is a white revolution.

Nine-Year-Old Succumbs; Death Toll From Houston Concert Stampede Rises to 10
Who in their right mind would take a nine year old to this type of event. The parents should be charged.
An attorney for the family of a 9-year-old boy who was trampled at a Travis Scottconcert in Houston and was on life support for a week said that the child had died from his injuries on Sunday.
The death of Ezra Blount brought the total number of those killed during a stampede at last week’s Astroworld Festival to ten, ranging in age from 9 to 27.
The deaths took place when the Grammy Award-nominated rapper Scott appeared before a crowd of 50,000 at NRG Stadium. The scene grew out of control as fans surged toward the stage.
“The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son,” said attorney Ben Crump. “This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert.”

But eventually, this more and more leads to self-destruction which a lot of times has been drug overdoses, alcohol and substance abuse, which inevitably leads to the death or suicide of the artist. But this one seems to have resulted in the death of eight of Travis Scott’s devotees.”
“People like Travis Scott are very powerful, especially if they make a pact with the Devil to give them that popularity. Sometimes a demon will promote that, promising artists like Travis Scott that they will make a lot of money, but eventually, the demon keeps on asking them to do more and more and be more outrageous and call others to more and more sin. So, while people become more hardcore fans of the singer, they’re being further led into worshiping the demon.
Travis Scott’s “concert people died, and now he might be considering it as a sacrifice. It’s kind of what self-destruction eventually leads to. This might be his downfall, but the demon doesn’t care. When you make a pact with the Devil, it ends up with your downfall. That’s ultimately what the demon does.”
There were demons present at the event – they would be there anyway trying to influence bad in the adverse, just as there are God’s good angels trying to encourage us to do good. But when people give themselves to evil, Satan ‘wins.’ Travis Scott will not be rewarded by Satan – Satan is a liar, and he only intends to harm and destroy.”
Second, God sending a delusion is only part of the account. Two other aspects are clear. Satan is involved (2 Thessalonians 2:9) and this delusion applies to those “who did not believe the truth” (v. 12). It is incorrect to simply say God tricks these people. Instead, those who are influenced by Satan and do not believe are among those who accept the delusionGod will send into the world during this time. God desires for all to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).
The first four seal events will be fulfilled during this time, but those events are not that exceptional. People have risen to great political prominence (as in the first seal) many times in the past, there have been many wars and famines (as in the second and third seals), and many people have died of such things (as in the fourth seal). There have even been multiple peace treaties involving Israel (like the “covenant” mentioned in Dan 9:27).
However, when the first 3 1/2 years are finished, we will have reached the midpoint of the end-times period, and things start happening in the angelic realm that will strongly shape the course of events on earth for the second 3 1/2 years. This is the period called the time, times, and half a time (Dan 7:25, Dan 12:7), and it begins with the 42 months of the great tribulation, as discussed below:

Knowing that his time is short, Satan’s first order of business is to try to change the “time, times, and half a time” that has been decreed (Dan 7:25). For this purpose, he creates a new kingdom on the earth to oppose God and God’s people. This will be the eighth and final such kingdom that Satan will have created on earth (Rev 17:11). He begins by raising up these two “beasts”, which are demons who shall empower the two human leaders of this kingdom. The first is the political leader Antichrist, and the second is the religious leader The False Prophet.
Rev 12:7-12 – 7And there waswar in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. 11“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. 12“For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
At the midpoint of the seven-year end-times period, God gives the command to expel Satan from His presence in heaven, and Satan is thus cast down to the earth. I believe Satan knows that this time is coming, but he doesn’t know when it will happen. When that time arrives, Satan will be enraged because he will then know that his time is short, specifically, the time, times, and half a time period (Rev 12:14).
Satan Establishes His Final Kingdom
Rev 13:1 – And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names.
Rev 13:11 – Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon.

From the midpoint forward, the Antichrist and this demon who empowers him appear to be synonymous, and they are collectively called the “beast“.
I believe that the demon who empowers Antichrist may be the same demon described in the fifth trumpet: Rev 9:11 – They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek, he has the name Apollyon… Note that both of these names mean “destroyer“.
The idea that this “demon king” of Rev 9:11 is the same “beast” who empowers Antichrist would explain some curious things about this demon:
Why is this demon given so much prominence in Rev 9, even to the point of stating his name? Because he shall have such a prominent role as the demon of Antichrist.
Why is this demon’s title “angel of the abyss” so similar to the “beast from the abyss” ascribed to Antichrist (Rev 11:7)? Because these titles refer to the same demon.
Why is this demon called destroyer? Because Antichrist is called a “destroyer of the earth” (Rev 11:18).
Why is this demon identified as a “king“? Because Antichrist is the king of Satan’s kingdom.
Side note: If this speculation is correct, it would mean that the “angel of the abyss” associated with the fifth trumpet event (Rev 9:11) had already come out of the abyss (or sea) at the midpoint (Rev 13:1), sometime before the other demons were released in the fifth trumpet event. This idea does not conflict with the account of this demon given in Rev 9:11).
The Persecution of God’s People, Israel
Rev 12:13-16 – 13And when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth.
Continuing from the midpoint, Antichrist (now empowered by the demon) will break whatever peace treaty he had established with Israel, beginning with an event called the abomination of desolation, in which he defiles the temple and stops the sacrifices (Dan 9:27, Dan 12:11, Matt 24:15, 2 Thes 2:3-4). After defiling the temple, he will attack the Jews with the intent to annihilate them.
However, some Jews will heed God’s advice to flee to the Mount of Olives (Zech 14:5, Matt 24:16-21), and those Jews shall be protected there for the entire time, times, and half a time period which follows the abomination (Rev 12:14). The protected remnant of Jews will be represented by the two witnesses (Rev 11:3) for the 1260 days following the midpoint. The trumpet event plagues will be striking the earth during this time, with some of them possibly occurring at the pronouncement of these two witnesses (Rev 11:6).
Side note: Some readers may wonder why I have placed these events at the end of chapter 12 chronologically after the events in chapter 13. The reason is this: I believe chapter 12 is summarizing what Satan will do, and chapter 13 provides elaboration on how he will do it. This pattern of summary followed by elaboration is actually observed multiple times in Revelation.
Rev 12:17 – the dragon was enraged with the woman and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
Rev 13:5-7 – 5There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven. 7It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and the nation were given to him.
Satan, now even more enraged because of his inability to completely destroy the Jews, shall turn his wrath against Israel’s offspring (Rom 9:6,7,8), the Christians (thosewho keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus). Christianity is, of course, the faith borne from the remnant of Israel that acknowledged Jesus as the Christ, and are thus rightly called Israel’s offspring. Against the Christians, Satan’s appointed king shall prevail for the 42 months of the great tribulation. Thus we seeIsrael protected and the Christians persecuted in the end times.
The Fifth Trumpet Demons
Rev 9:1-6 – 1Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. 2He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. 3Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man. 6And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.
At some point during the great tribulation, after the first four trumpet events have ravaged the earth, an angel (the “star” mentioned in verse 1) will release many more demonic creatures from the abyss. Presumably, the same abyss from which the two beasts of Revelation 13 came. This will mark the beginning of the fifth trumpet event, in which these demons torture people for five months.
The identity of the “star” in verse 1 is much debated. It almost certainly is some sort of angelic being, but is it a holy angel or an evil angel? It’s not a point for which one should be dogmatic, but I tend to think that this star is not only an evil angel, it is actually Satan himself. My reasons are as follows:
The angel is described as “from heaven which had fallen to the earth“, and note that “had fallen” is past tense. That is, John did not see this angel fall to earth as part of the fifth seal event. Rather, he is just describing this angel as one that was from heaven but had fallen to earth. Given the chronological timing of demonic events, this identification points to Satan, who (as discussed above) was cast down from heaven to earth at the midpoint – the event that started the great tribulation.
The text of Rev 13:1 suggests that Satan was involved in raising the first two demons out from the abyss, so it only stands to reason that Satan should release these other demons from there as well.
Interestingly, there is yet another account in Revelation of an angel who comes from heaven to earth with a key to the abyss: Rev 20:1 – “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand to open the abyss”. The angel in chapter 20 is clearly a holy angel because he comes to put Satan into the abyss (Rev 20:2). Note the contrast between the language of these two accounts: – The angel of chapter 9 was “from heaven having had fallen”. – The holy angel of chapter 20 was “coming down from heaven”. This difference in language suggests that the angel in chapter 9 is not a holy angel and that he came to earth against his will.
Also, note the contrast in the purpose of these two angels: – The angel of chapter 9 came to release demons from the abyss. – The holy angel of chapter 20 came to put a demon into the abyss. The opposing purposes suggest that the angel in chapter 9 is not a holy angel.
That Revelation has two similar verses featuring an angel going from heaven to earth with a key to the abyss is suggestive that these two verses are meant to be related in a poetic way. The significance of this would be evident if Satan is placed into the same prison from which he had himself released demons.
If the angel of Rev 9:1 is Satan (as I believe it is), then we are left with the problem of motive. That is, why would Satan be the instrument of carrying out the fifth trumpet event, which delivers painful sores to people – except for the 144,000 Jewish servants sealed to by God (Rev 9:4)?
I believe the answer to this question is discovered by making some observations:
First of all, it’s not hard to see why Satan would want to release these demons who had joined his rebellion against God, because they would clearly increase Satan’s power upon the earth. Evidently, these demons had been imprisoned in the first place because they were particularly dangerous to mankind, so we should not be surprised that they should be harmful to men when released. In fact, Rev 9:5 indicates that they would have done far worse, except that they were restrained by God. The only reason they couldn’t kill people nor harm the 144,000 is that God didn’t permit them.
Also, the fact that people should suffer as a result of these demons surely wouldn’t bother Satan. But more to the point, the suffering of the people actually helps Satan’s cause, as seen by the consequences of “these plagues” (which includes the fifth trumpet event):
Rev 9:20-21, “The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk; and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts“.
That is, I believe that these people will blame God for the torments they suffer from Satan’s demons, and thus they harden their hearts even further against God. The fact that the 144,000 Jews are not harmed by these demons may actually create the false impression that the Jews are allied with the demons! People will continue to worship false gods and continue their murders (the martyrdom of the saints per Rev 6:11). This deception certainly appears to be working toward Satan’s purposes.
Side note: Many commentators describe the things that happen in chapters 6 through 11 as the “seal judgments” and the “trumpet judgments“. For the seals and trumpets, I prefer to use the more generic term, “events“. I believe that only the bowl events truly represent the judgments of God for the reasons given at the beginning of chapter 19 commentary.
The fifth trumpet event is a case in point, because calling it a “judgment” implies that God is the one inflicting people with sores, when in fact this may really have been a direct act of Satan and his demons. God actually stepped in to limit the damage caused by this act (Rev 9:4-5).
However, it is also clear that God has the ultimate authority of what is happening. That the angel of verse 1 was “given a key to the abyss” indicates that God granted Satan the authority to release these demons. Even if this event was caused by Satan for wicked purposes, it will ultimately fulfill God’s purposes. This point is discussed further below.
Will Christians be afflicted with the Fifth Trumpet torment?
The text says that the fifth trumpet demons will torment only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads, which I believe clearly refers to the 144,000 Jewswho received the seal of God on their foreheads in chapter 7. This suggests that all other people, including Christians, may suffer this torment. Understandably, many believers have trouble accepting the idea that God would allow Christians to be tormented by these demons.
However, as discussed above, I don’t think we need to see the fifth trumpet torments as a “judgment from God”. From the text, the only actions clearly attributed to God are:
He gives the “star” (Satan, in my view) permission to release the demons from the abyss.
He imposes limits on how much damage these demons are allowed to do.
The actual desire to release these demons and torment people belongs to Satan, not God. With this being the case, there is no reason to think that Satan and his demons would exclude Christians from this torment.
It may still seem out of character that God would even permit Satan to hurt Christians. However, He does permit it, and this is not a new concept. We know from the account of Job (e.g. Job 2:6-7) that God has granted permission for Satan to harm a faithful person before. In fact, the great tribulation is a period of time when God gives Satan’s final king 42 months to conquer the saints (Rev 13:5,7). Of course, we know that most of the prophets and apostles suffered greatly for the sake of their testimony. Finally, JesusChrist, the most righteous person ever, was allowed to suffer the worst agony for our sake.
Here are some points to keep in mind about saints allowed to suffer Satan’s attacks:
In all cases, the suffering (even suffering unto death) is temporary, and it fades into nothing when compared to the promised kingdom (2 Cor 4:17, Phil 3:8).
If Christians do suffer from the fifth trumpet demons, they still have an advantage over unbelievers: They can pray for God to heal them. It’s possible that God will heal them, which itself may even be used to advance the gospel.
Remember that Satan has a kingdom on earth only because he deceived people into joining his rebellion against God. By rights, it should be God punishing these sinners! However, He graciously allows Satan’s kingdom to exist temporarily in order to give sinners an opportunity to receive the warnings (the trumpet events), repent, and by grace enter God’s eternal kingdom.
The Sixth Trumpet Demons
Rev 9:13-15 – 13Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, 14one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river the Euphrates.” 15And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.
Here, we see another account that involves the releasing of “bound angels“, which must surely be demons. In this case, it appears that the same angel who sounded the sixth trumpet will release these four demons. Perhaps this is because these four demons are bound in a different prison (not the “abyss” as in the fifth seal, but “at the great river the Euphrates“). The “star” of the fifth seal was given a key to the abyss, but not to this other prison.
These four demons of the sixth trumpet appear to have some special status as particularly mighty angels who are especially dangerous to mankind. The emphasis on these angels, having been “prepared for the hour and day and month and year“, suggests that these angels may be mentioned elsewhere in scripture. This brings to mind the references to demons during the time of the flood:
1 Pet 3:19-20 – “…spirits now in prison, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark“.
2 Pet 2:4 – “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment“. The word translated here as “hell” is not the normal Greek word for that (geenna). It is the word Tartarus, borrowed from Greek mythology and defined as “the deep abyss in ancient Greek mythology that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked” (Wikipedia). It is not necessary to think that these demons have been brought out of hell.
Jude 1:6 – “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling-these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on a Great Day.“
These verses refer to angels who sinned in the days before the flood and have since been imprisoned. The only passage in Genesis that could correspond to these angels is the one below, where the angels appear to be called “sons of God“.
Gen 6:1-8 – 1When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.” 4The Nephilim was on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 5The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created-and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground-for I regret that I have made them.” 8But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
It is hard to be certain of exactly what this means, or to what extent (if any) figurative language is being used. Given that Scripture frequently uses sexual immorality (e.g. adultery, harlotry) to symbolize idolatry, it’s possible that the implied sexual union with angels refers to people worshiping demons, giving “birth” to much wickedness. Whatever happened, it was a great offense to God, and it prompted Him to destroy mankind with the flood – sparing only Noah and family.
A limitation is placed on these demons of the sixth trumpet. but only that they are not permitted to kill more than one-third of people. Again, I believe God places these limits because this is not yet the time of God’s wrath. The sixth trumpet represents the final moments of the time of God’s warnings. Throughout the trumpet events, we have been seeing increasingly damaging events, and the sixth is certainly the most damaging so far. However, all of the trumpet events have been clearly limited in the extent of damage they would cause. In contrast, when the wrath of God does come (in the bowl judgments), we will see no such limitations.
Satan’s Rise to Power
The fifth and sixth trumpet events have both featured the release of demons from prison. I believe that what we are seeing is that Satan, in the final moments of his role as “ruler of this world“, shall be granted the greatest authority and power he has ever had. All of the demons who followed him in rebellion have been released from their prisons and are now acting upon the earth. Some demons are torturing people, others are killing them, and people will be blaming God for all of this (Rev 9:20-21). This then is part of the great deception of the end times.
And yet, from God’s perspective, the release of these demons has been decreed to happen at this time so that they could be a deluding influence to those who place their trust in Satan’s Antichrist. Thus, this delusion on one hand serves Satan’s purposes in causing people to hate God, but on the other hand, it also serves God’s purpose in bringing about their judgment. Paul referred to this period of deception in the passage below (concerning Antichrist):
2 Thes 2:9-12 – 9 that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, 10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason, God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
The Final Moments of Satan’s Reign
Rev 11:7 – When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them.
The “they” in verse 7 is referring to God’s two witnesses in Jerusalem, and this verse describes the conclusion of their work on earth during the 1,260 days of great tribulation (Rev 11:3). As mentioned in chapter 11 commentary, these two witnesses have been striking the earth with plagues, possibly including the first four trumpet events.
These two witnesses will be indestructible for nearly 3 1/2 years, but Rev 11:7 says that Satan’s human cohorts will finally succeed at killing them. Having killed those two witnesses in Jerusalem, Antichrist and his followers will believe that they have stopped the plagues. This “victory” will also make them confident that they will finally be able to destroy that seemingly indestructible remnant of Jewswho had also been protected by God during those 3 1/2 years (Rev 12:14-16).
This will be the high point of Satan’s career. He and his Antichrist shall be worshiped with joyous praise. It will be the closest that Satan shall ever come to be like God, which is what he has always desired (Isa 14:13-14). In truth, Satan falls infinitely short. He and his followers will enjoy this moment for just 3 1/2 days (Rev 11:10-11), and then the two witnesses will be raised from the dead, and bowls of God’s wrath will begin to strike the earth.
In these last moments of Satan’s rule, demonic forces will abound. People will be worshiping false gods, murdering Christians, celebrating the deaths of God’s two witnesses, and looking forward to the annihilation of Israel. The last time that there was this much wickedness going on in the world was in the days of Noah, before the flood and before all these demons were imprisoned. And just as God poured his wrath upon the wicked people in Noah’s day, God shall pour His wrath upon the wicked people of the end times. Instead of using a flood, God will use the bowl judgments. As Jesus said regarding the end times:
Matt 24:37-39 – 37“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38“For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
As we shall see in Rev 19:20-21, when Christ comes, God’s wrath shall take them all away. Satan and the rest of his demons and followers will be cast into the lake of fire (Rev 20:10, Matt 25:41).

The accumulating death toll from Covid-19 can be seen minute-by-minute on cable news channels. But there’s another death toll few seem to care much about: the number of poverty-related deaths being set in motion by deliberately plunging millions of Americans into poverty and despair.

Some individuals are taken aback to learn that following Christ isn’t a walk in the park. When we commit our lives to Christ, we are instantly met by an enemy, the devil, who seeks to destroy us.
Every day, the spiritualfight rages, and it won’t stop until we find refuge in Jesus’ embrace.
The apostle Paul told Timothy, “I have fought the goodfight, I have completed the race, and I have been loyal.” Now I wait for my reward, the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the upright judge, will bestow upon me on the day of his return. “And the prize is not just for me but for all who anxiously look forward to his coming” (2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT).
Paul’s use of word for “battle” alludes to ancient Greek competitions in which men would utilize their whole physical might to compete against one another.
This serves as a timely reminder that progress is a hallmark of the Christianlife. The instant we cease progress, we shall regress. For this reason, we must equip ourselves. Let’s get suited up.
In order to withstand the devil’s schemes, Christians are admonished to “put on all of God’s armor” (Ephesians 6:11). For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood adversaries, but rather against wicked rulers, authorities, powerful powers in this dark world, and demonic spirits in the high realms (verses 11-12 NLT).
Isn’t it nice to fantasize about getting to a point in our Christianlife where we’re immune to all trials and tribulations? But unfortunately, that won’t be the case. The conflict will continue till the end of time.
As a result, we must keep our shields up. It’s crucial that we keep our wits about us and always go on.
The Bible says Bibleprophecy is a lamp shining in a dark place (II Peter 1:19). That light should not be extinguished! It gives hope, encouragement, and helps usfight the goodfight. It reminds usGod is in control, that He has a special plan, and that He keeps His promises. It helps us live holy in an unholy age.
This is hardly controversial. In fact, it is our hope in hopeless times. We have the ultimate victory. We are not destined for wrath!
We are living in the most significant time in history and the most prophecy fulfilling days — with the least amount of interest in them. Our assignment is to be “watchmen” (Ezekiel 33). We’re to be sounding an alarm whether anyone listens or not.
The nations of the world seem to be moving by a hidden hand into exactly the right positions on a global chessboard. Amazing things are happening right before our eyes.
Because of that, we must not be silent.
And don’t be discouraged. In Jesus’ day, a remnant changed the world.
It was David, a youth who watched over sheep, that had the courage and resolve to stand up to such a fierce enemy. Although this situation seemed hopeless and to any rational person would have appeared to be suicide, David stood up to the giant, overcoming this enemy who blasphemed God, and slew him victoriously.
So what does this have to do with us? We all know the story of David overcoming Goliath, but what if any connection does this have to do with living in the end times? A lot, I believe.
As followers of JesusChrist living in the world today, we are living in unprecedented times. We stand on the cusp of seeing the unveiling of the New World Order and with it even more intense persecution of Christians worldwide. The evil that is going on in the world will only grow worse as humanity is deceived into worshipping Lucifer. Some Christians think that these things are inevitable and there is nothing we should do about it, that we should just sit back and allow these dark events to unfold as prophesied.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. Just as David faced a political enemy that wanted to conquer the people of God, we as 21st century Christians face a similar challenge. Though we face a giant that isn’t literal in the physical sense, the challenge is the same. We face an enemy that hates us and seeks our destruction because we serve as a constant light and reminder to this world of Jesus’ victory and Lordship accomplished through the resurrection. So how are we to respond? Does God want us to be passive and submissive to the evil powers hard at work hell-bent on enslaving humanity? Absolutely not!
God has called us to overcome the giants of these last days. We as Christians have been called to stand in these times of darkness.
Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-
We are called to overcome deception. We are called to overcome false teachings and ideologies. We are called to overcome perversion. We are called to overcome the dark powers which seek to force mankind to submit to the will of the devil. And when the time comes, those Christianswho are in the world at the time of the Antichrist are called to overcome him and his global government as well.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
When we consider all of the negative and frightful topics present in our world today, we should look to examples like David who did not cower in fear but rather had such firm faith and confidence in God almighty that he stood in the face of a giant. We too must strive to have the same kind of faith a sign of courage to stand. Just as David armed himself for battle, we too must arm ourselves for battle – a spiritual battle that must be won with spiritual weapons.
2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds
When we read those words from Revelation 12 above, it is clear that the followers of Christ WILL overcome our enemy because ultimately Jesus will overcome him. The war has already been won and the day is coming when Christ Himself will cast down Satan and all who follow after him. Does this mean that Christians won’t suffer or be persecuted? No. Does it mean that Christian’s lives will be spared? No. The Bible is clear that persecution, suffering, and even death will befall those who follow after Jesus. Even now our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world are suffering unspeakable horrors. Yet, it is in spite of these terrible things that Christians will overcome the enemy.
Jesus Himself affirmed this point when He commissioned Peter to take over as leader of the church after His ascension:
Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Like David, the day is coming when we will stand in a victory next to our Lord and Savior, JesusChrist, to whom ultimately belongs the victory. Until then, however, we need to be like David and stand our ground. Each of us needs to do our part to stand for Jesus in these End Times. We must be bold and courageous to stand against the evil that is so prevalent in our world.
What does overcoming giants in the end-times look like practically speaking? It means taking action! It means speaking out whether vocally, through the written word, or through our daily actions. Talk to people. Share the truth and stand up for Jesus using social media. Call your congressman and urge them to support legislation aligned with Biblical values and reject those that are contrary to the word of God. Vote! Start a blog or podcast. Write a book. Exercise your constitutional rights of freedom of speech, assembly, and protest! (In a law-abiding manner of course) Lend support to Christ-centered groups and organizations that work to share the good news of Jesus. Serve in your local community in a way that helps others to see the love of God through you. Most importantly, never, never, never, underestimate the power of prayer!
What I want to get across more than anything is our need as followers of JesusChrist to stand in these evil days in which we live. Overcoming giants wasn’t just something intended for David to do, all of us collectively as the body of Christ can be overcomers as well. Yes, things will continue to get worse before they get better, but we must follow the example set before us by our King and stand against the enemy until He returns in victory.

Revelations from a new book, Peril, by Bob Woodward and Rob Costa, reveal just how deep the spiritual rot in the military goes. In the days after the January 6 protest, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, promised, in the event of a war, to give aid and comfort to China. According to the Washington Post, after the Capitol protest, Milley sent secret communiques to the head of the People’s Liberation Army, promising that “If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”
In a decent country such a brazen act of collusion with a foreign power by one of the most prominent leaders of the armed forces would be met with immediate and unrelenting backlash. Instead, this betrayer of the Constitution and the principle of civilian leadership of the military is a liberal darling. At the inauguration, Joe Biden thanked Milley for undermining President Trump in the final weeks of his presidency.
Milley, before reaching out to China, sat down with the service’s top officers and demanded from them what amounted to an oath—none of them would launch a nuclear weapon without his approval. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff went behind the President’s back to secure control over the nation’s most important weapons.
Our generals are losers abroad, and grifters at home. They parrot MSNBC talking points on Twitter and grovel before Fauci. This is bad enough. But Milley’s actions show that America’s top military officers have reached another level of delusion. They fancy themselves a new praetorian guard to protect the nation—as construed by elite editorial boards—from the people’s elected representatives.
The military establishment is gloating now and flexing its muscle. After the election, outgoing Syria envoy Jim Jeffrey admitted that the Pentagon and State Department had consistently lied to Trump about troop levels in Syria. Before he left office, Trump’s order to have troops out of Afghanistan by January 15 was overruled by the establishment. Trump, far from trying to start a war on his way out of office, sought to end one.
White House spokesperson Jen Psaki claims that Milley was following “constitutional orders to prevent unlawful military actions.” According to her, Trump “was implementing an insurrection.” The claim that Trump wished to start a war to distract from the election, upon which Milley based his collusion with the Chinese government, was an utter lie. Nor was Trump implementing an insurrection; the FBI has dispensed with this myth, finding that there was no coordinated plot associated with the Capitol riot.
There will be no hearings, serious journalistic investigations, or outcry from the establishment.
Milley will go unpunished.
He will retire with full honors and full pension.
The Pentagon will never reform itself from the inside.
The entire military-industrial complex (MIC) must be dismantled if we are ever to have again an armed forces consistent with the Founders’ republican virtues.
The AmericanRight must be willing to starve the Pentagon of its lifeblood. The most important asset the people have is their bodies. Americanmothers and fathers need to stop feeding their children into the machine. Heartland American boys and girls have better things to do and better leaders to serve under. The American people must go on strike until the generals once again learn to subordinate themselves to the people.
GOPpoliticians must assist their constituents in this noble task. They must find real courage and demand radical institutional change. This starts with deep and abiding budget cuts for the Pentagon and the rest of the MIC. The Founders’ distrust of permanent standing armies must be restored.
America should once again rely on true citizen soldiers for national defense.
The world has changed. America’s grand strategy must change with it. Our current conventional force cannot defeat insurgencies anyway. The proliferation of nuclear weapons, on the other hand, means that “Great Power conflict” is virtually impossible. There is no need to keep buying weapons systems designed to fight a redux of WWII. Our bases overseas are a relic of the liberal humanitarian world order. Having 20,000 troops in Okinawa didn’t prevent the Chinese Communist Party from using Twitter bots to stir up hysteria over Covid. Our dozen aircraft carriers didn’t stop our politicians from implementing lockdowns and vaccine passports. America’s air bases in Turkey, Germany, and Diego Garcia didn’t keep the Taliban from retaking control of their country.
America was never the world’s policeman. An empire in the name of democracy and freedom was always an idiotic idea.
Widespread gun ownership is a much better guarantor of American liberty than any SEAL team or aircraft carrier. The Militia Act of 1792 is a much better model for national defense than our current setup. The act enrolled every able-bodied male citizen between the ages of 18 and 45 into the militia. It also demanded that each of these men provide themselves with a “good musket or firelock” and “a sufficient bayonet.” Far from trying to take away firearms, the Founders demanded every American male citizen possess one.
Self-sufficiency in arms is the foundation of liberty, national sovereignty, and independence. Tyrannies never arm their citizens; republics always do. Our security as a nation should not depend on over-hyped “super soldiers.” The “silent professionals” with their podcasts, book deals, and TV appearances play, in the grand scheme of things, only a very minor role in protecting the life, liberty, and property of the American people.
The unmitigated corruption in the leadership of the armed forces is a sign of deep cultural rot. The patriotic flag-waving of the post-9/11 response has been used to great harm against the American people. An unwillingness by the political class to criticize and hold accountable those charged with defending the nation has led to our current spiritual crisis. America can’t win overseas, her generals sell out her leaders to foreign powers, and the retired members of this elite class do nothing but gobble up fat checks from the corporations they once purchased from. This is an untenable state of affairs.
