“The Fall”? “The Curse”? What Does The Bible Really Say? A “Curse”? A “Fall”?

Edward O’Hara Why is it that we hear so many using such hyperbole? Is it hyperbole? Or is it Biblical language? Is this language found anywhere in the Bible from which we may conclude anything like this? When we read the Genesis account do we ever see God using this language? Do we see God using “The curse” or “The fall” in connection to what happened to Adam and Eve? Does God say Adam and Eve were cursed? Or that they “fell” from anything? Do any of the writers of the scriptures use these terms to describe what happened to Adam and Eve? Let’s take a look. You may be surprised at what we find. We’ll start with Genesis and then also see what Paul says about this.  But first, let me give you something to consider that will be answered later…

By Edward O’Hara, THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU- LUKE17:20,21

By Edward O’Hara. Jesus said “The kingdom of God is within you” to a people who were expecting a messiah to come who would deliver to them a physical kingdom after conquering their enemies. But, these expected a natural kingdom to be theirs by the hand of a judge/deliverer just as the judges like Samson, Moses, and others had in olden times. But, the kingdom Jesus spoke of was one that delivered them from the natural men they were from the time Adam was made, to spiritual men for which Jesus came to make all men. From an inheritance through flesh and blood by a water birth from their mother’s womb. To an inheritance through spiritual birth that made them children of God and heirs to His eternal and spiritual kingdom in heaven. Both are literal kingdoms. And the Jew…

THE WORKS RIGHTEOUSNESS OF MORAL GOV’T THEOLOGY- THE INIQUITY THAT MAKES JESUS SAY “I NEVER KNEW YOU”

Edward

Iniquity. What is it when Jesus uses it in Mt.7:21-23 saying “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”   If we will consider the context as we must in everything we read in scripture we will see that Jesus is not referring to immorality here. Because these people are doing good things like casting out devils and prophesying. And they believe they are doing these morally good…

LIFE OR DEATH AS JESUS REVEALED THEM IN THE 2 RESURRECTIONS- JOHN5:28,29

By Edward O’Hara It’s hard to put into words just how much God loves us. The Holy Spirit tells us through the apostle John that the greatest love is when a man lays down his life for his friend. Citing Jesus’ example when He gave His life willingly for every man. As Dan.9:26 tells us He would. And when He did this He knew He had to because it was the only way He could conquer death. Even though the thought of what He would suffer was so excruciating that He sought the Father asking if there was any other way to do what must be done to save mankind apart from His having to suffer and die. But, knowing the Father’s will Jesus submitted to Him for the sake of mankind. God is so willing that everyone who has…

Watchman: I was Wrong About Mike Johnson’s Path to Speaker-ship: ‘Through Prayer, Not Politics’ It Was All Lies!!

HNewsWire: Proverbs 29:2 King James Version  When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Read full chapter Proverbs 29:2 in all English translations Our country needs people like this to lead it. May God bless him. No one could believe it when Mike Johnson (R-La.), the newly elected Speaker of the House, told the Democratic and Republican members of the House of Representatives that God in the Bible put each of them there for a reason in his first speech as chair. He is surrounded by Democrats and Republicans who are against Christians, the Constitution, Jews, and lawbreaking. Say prayers for him. “I want to tell everyone here what I told the Republicans last night: I don’t think this is a coincidence.” Bible verses, in my opinion, make it very…

IMMORTALITY, WHY WE DID NOT INHERIT IT FROM ADAM Edward O’Hara

Was Adam immortal when God made him? Was his body different from what ours is now? What does the Bible say about this? I ask this question because there is so much false teaching regarding this issue. And this issue is very important because it speaks to the very heart of what it means to be human. Are we as Adam was when he was made? Or is our flesh different from his when God made him? This is a very important issue because Heb.2:14 says that Jesus came in the same flesh all men have. But, if Adam was mortal then how is it that he could live forever? Isn’t that what being immortal means? We will begin by reading from the Genesis account first to see what, if anything, is there regarding this issue.  In Gen.1:26 we see God telling the story about…

‘Church Fathers’; Should We Trust ‘EM? Can What Was Written After the Apostles

Be as Trustworthy in and of Itself as What Was Written by the Apostles? Should It Be as Trusted? What If They Were Wrong? Could They Have Been Wrong?… Have you ever heard the term “church fathers”? The term is usually used in reference to the men who wrote about theology directly after the times of the apostles. Should we consider anyone to be “church fathers” other than those who penned the scriptures? Some do because they have been taught to believe that those who came shortly after the apostles are as much to be believed as the apostles themselves. What say you? Can what was written after the apostles be as trustworthy in and of itself as what was written by the apostles? Should it be as trusted? What if they were wrong? Could they have been wrong?  Have…

Watchman: Daily Devotional, It’s Better to Confront Danger Beside the Lord Than to Run and Hide From It

Devotional: Acts 9:1-20 How risk-averse or daring are you while making decisions? Because of the potential for loss or other unfavorable outcomes, many Christians avoid taking risks. The elimination of risks makes intuitive sense from a human perspective. Uncertainty, however, is a normal aspect of the Christian life of faith. Obedience may seem hazardous to us, but God sees no such thing since He is in complete charge of everything and will use it for His good. In the Bible, we read of actual individuals who trusted God even when faced with the unexpected. Ananias is one of them; he is a disciple whom God has sent to help the freshly converted Saul. By paying a visit to this well-known antichrist, Ananias put his life in danger. After his conversion, Saul too faced danger on a daily basis as he diligently…

BORN AGAIN- IS IT A LITERAL BIRTH OF A SPIRIT IN US THAT WAS NEVER THERE BEFORE? OR JUST A NEW WAY OF THINKING? John 3:1-8

In John3 when Jesus tells Nicodemus he must be born again because what is born of the flesh is flesh. And what is born of the Spirit is spirit. He is not saying he must be born of the Spirit because being only flesh he is evil, or sinful by nature. As so many falsely teach. Not only because the word flesh in the Bible does not mean that. But, also because when understood in context there is no way a person can come to the conclusion that it does mean evil or sinful. When used in the scriptures flesh never means evil or sinful. The word flesh in the Bible is the Greek word sarx. It means the tissue, muscle, and blood our bodies are made of. It literally means the body of flesh we see when we look…

Watchman: Daily Devotional, We Need a Humble and Contrite Heart and a Commitment to Understand and Obey the Revealed Word of God (Psalm 1)

(Psalms 1–41) 1 Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, take the path of sinners, or join the company of mockers. 2 Rather, he delights in the teachings of the Lord and reflects on his teachings day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted beside streams—a tree that produces fruit in season and whose leaves do not wither. He succeeds in everything he does.[a] 4 Wicked people are not like that. Instead, they are like husks that the wind blows away. 5 That is why wicked people will not be able to stand in the judgment and sinners will not be able to stand where righteous people gather. 6 The Lord knows the way of righteous people, but the way of wicked people will end. Footnotes 1:3 Or “and its leaves do not wither, and whatever it produces thrives.”   Learn…
