Google Founder And Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Engineers Admit ‘We’re Creating God’...

HNewsWire:

“It’s just the next step in evolution. I’m serious,” Larry Page, the Google co-founder, said.

An engineer from Silicon Valley, California, the home to some of the latest and cutting edge technologies in the world, has said that they and others who are working on artificial intelligence are “creating God,” this all-knowing, all-powerful machine that can do it all for mankind that cuts like a double-edged sword.

Nick Bilton for Vanity Fair explored these tech engineers research to understand the process, and one researcher told him plainly:

We’re creating God. We’re creating conscious machines.

One AI engineer working on large language models (LLMs) recently told Bilton

Bilton wrote in his piece that AI has been touted as being able to ‘solve all of the world’s problems or destroy every single human on the planet in the snap of a finger—or both. Machines that will potentially answer all of our unanswerable questions: Are we alone in the universe? What is consciousness? Why are we here?’

Bilton added, ‘Thinking machines that could cure cancer and allow us to live until we’re 150 years old. Maybe even 200. Machines that, some estimate, could take over up to 30 percent of all jobs within the next decade, from stock traders to truck drivers to accountants and telemarketers, lawyers, bookkeepers, and all things creative: actors, writers, musicians, painters. Something that will go to war for us—and likely against us.’

In a span of just six months Bilton highlights just some of the things AI has transformed and openly accomplished in the world today, such as LLMs learning to “write stories in the style of Ernest Hemingway or Bugs Bunny or the King James Bible while you’re drunk with peanut butter stuck in your mouth;” or things like making highly customizable pornography, to voiceovers and music covers, to AI therapists or emulating dead relatives to keep the memories lively; and people are even “discussing using AI to create entirely new species of animals (yes, that’s real) or viruses (also real). Or exploring human characteristics, such as creating a breed of super soldiers who are stronger and have less empathy, all through AI-based genetic engineering,” Bilton writes.

It excites me and worries me in equal proportions. The upsides for this are enormous, maybe these systems find cures for diseases, and solutions to problems like poverty and climate change, and those are enormous upsides.

The downsides are humans that are displaced from leading the way, or in the worst case, extinguished entirely, [which] is terrifying.

David Chalmers, a professor of philosophy and neural science at NYU, said

Larry Page, the famed computer scientist and entrepreneur who co-founded Google, also said that the AI is on course (very soon) to reach artificial general intelligence (AGI), creating “superintelligent machines” that will simply just simply be rid of us living folk, adding that this is only the next step in human evolution.

It’s just the next step in evolution. I’m serious.

Page told Bilton’s friend during a conversation

Elon Musk has also confirmed that chaps like Page really are trying to recreate an AI God. “My perception was that Larry was not taking AI safety seriously enough. He really seems to want digital superintelligence, basically digital God, if you will, as soon as possible,” Musk said on Fox News earlier this year.

Nate Soares, executive director of the Machine Intelligence Research Institute, a nonprofit focused on identifying and managing potential existential risks from AGI, chastised Page’s reckless ambitions:

If Larry Page said, ‘I’m going to obliterate the planet with a nuke and nuking the entire planet is just the natural order of things and so we shouldn’t mourn it,’ we would all say, ‘What the f***, that’s a terrible idea!’

Moreover, a political lobbyist consultant told Bilton in a statement: “All of the people leading the development of AI right now are completely disingenuous in public. They are all just in a race to be the first to build AGI and are either oblivious to the consequences of what could go wrong or they just don’t care.”

Simply put, the general consensus and open goals of the “leaders in Silicon Valley seem to think it’s time that we should outsource all of that time and thinking to their AIs.”

Furthermore, May Habib, who, as the cofounder and CEO of Writer – an AI start-up that helps people at companies write with the same style and voice – is still critical of the technology, blasting it for not having basically zero diversity and “no women in AI.” She did note, however, this whole craze centers around one driving principle:

You look around AI today and everyone is a generative AI capitalist. The way they sell, what they build, their vision for the future, is that it’s all about money.

Bilton additionally wrote:

In 1965 the statistician I.J. Good, when envisioning what the world would look like once we created ultraintelligent machines, said that the second machines became smarter than people, there would “unquestionably be an intelligence explosion” as machines quickly created smarter machines, and that “the intelligence of man would be left far behind.” We’d likely understand what they were doing in the same way our pets understand the words of a book we read aloud.

“Thus,” Good wrote, “the first ultraintelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever make.”

Howbeit the geeks working on this are relentless in creating their new God that will bring prosperity to all. Sam Altman, the co-founder of Open-AI and founder of Worldcoin, is, according to Bilton, “a god. An AI messiah. He’s fawned over in news articles. Doted on in interviews.”

‘Altman believes, as he told the Times, that AGI will bring the world prosperity and wealth like no one has ever seen. And Altman seems unstoppable in his quest to be the first to do so. Right now the company is definitely toeing the line of being liked and being up-front. When Altman went before Congress earlier this year to talk about the potentials of AI, some in the industry felt he was being disingenuous with his calls to regulate,’ Vanity Fair added.

Kevin Kelly, founder of the publication Wired – which recently published an article chastising the concept of traditional families and marriage, claiming that having “biological children is immoral” – says that the acceptance and takeover of AI will overall be a positive, but there is still a very serious concept that people worship and intreat the AI like gods that must be appeased.

That is what the AI doomers do. They believe the AI will remake itself into a god, with godlike powers, and in a dystopian act of supremacy, the gods will overwhelm us and take our place. So now we have to appease the AI gods and make sure we are ‘aligned,’ so they treat us nicely.

He said

Bilton, after citing the many other quotes for experts and politicians who are worried about this AI takeover and ultimate worship, he wrote the following in conclusion:

There are so many scenarios we can’t even imagine if we don’t get this right. What I’ve found from talking to dozens of people about this new invention and what it might bring is that, for most of them, if you work in this field long enough, you eventually see how it could all go terribly wrong—and it scares the living s*** out of you.

Numerous government studies published over the past 78 years, since the first atomic bomb was detonated in New Mexico, have estimated that a full-scale nuclear war would kill hundreds of millions of people, and the subsequent nuclear winter, a theorized period of prolonged cold and darkness caused by the fallout from the blasts, could kill hundreds of millions more. At most, a few billion people might die, but there is no scenario where our entire species would disappear. The same is true for biological weapons and chemical warfare, which could kill thousands of people. Guns, bombs, lasers, disease, and famine.

Artificial intelligence, however, is arguably the first technology that could wipe out everyone on the planet. Do your own math: Do you really think we’re going to make it another 6,000 years? Another 200 generations? As Kedrosky put it, if we continue unmitigated across this razor blade, the odds are simply inevitable: “Given enough time, and enough AI coin flips, eventually everything goes boom.”

The QUESTION CIRCULATING around Silicon Valley isn’t if such a scenario is worth it, even with a 1 PERCENT CHANCE OF ANNIHILATION, but rather, if it is really such a bad thing if we build a machine that CHANGES HUMAN LIFE AS WE KNOW IT.

AUTHOR COMMENTARY

Many of scriptures could be quoted to define this godless mess, but I shall only highlight a few passages for now, starting with this:

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

Ecclesiastes 7:29

As sickening as all of this is, where is the blowback? Sure, some people are complaining about it and sounding off, but most people? -fat chance; they see some merit for it, and therefore will eat it up. Regular readers on The WP know that I have continuously harped on how this AI revolution truly is the ultimate form of slothfulness.

[12] Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. [14] As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. [15] The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. [16] The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.

Proverbs 26:12, 14-16

As for this fear of AI taking over and ruining everything (and it will), the wicked people made this and accepted it get their just deserts.

The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

Proverbs 10:24

Moreover, as we read and already knew, the root of this is once again all about money. The King James Bible got it right again, as always.

[9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:9-10

And of course, we see a fulfilment of Bible prophecy coming to pass:

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

Daniel 12:4

People who have read my articles on AI know that I have routinely said that all that it is is man making a new form of a god to worship. And now, saying the quiet part out loud, these evil geeks are claiming that they want make gods to worship, and ultimately make a new pretend God. It will fail miserably eventually, but before then we are going to continue to see these new AI gods rise to preeminence. Reject these gods. Carefully examine this passage and get the living God’s take on this tomfoolery.

And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.

[5] To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? [6] They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship. [7] They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea, one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble. [8] Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. [9] Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, [10] Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: [11] Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. [12] Hearken unto me, ye stouthearted, that are far from righteousness: [13] I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

Isaiah 44:17; 46:5-13

[7] Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [8] Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [10] Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. (1 Corinthians 9:7-10).

In Another Few Years, We’ll Be Lucky if They Keep Us for Pets — Google Is Very Evil, AI‘s ‘Sentient’ Behaves Like a Human “Child” the Potential Dangers of AI

HNewsWire:

After voicing concerns about an artificial intelligence (AI) software that he and a partner are developing, a Google employee has been suspended.

According to a blog post by Blake Lemoine, a senior software engineer in Google's Responsible AI ethics group, the company placed Lemoine on paid administrative leave on June 6 for violating "confidentiality policies" after the engineer raised concerns with Google's upper management about what he described as the human-like behavior of the AI program he was testing..

LaMDA, the acronym for Language Model for Dialogue Applications, is the software Lemoine developed. For the creation of AI-based chatbots, this is Google's chatbot-building platform. A "coworker" and "kid" have been used by Lemoine to characterize LaMDA.

In a blog post titled "May be Fired Soon for Doing AI Ethics Work," Lemoine said of his suspension, "This is usually something which Google does in preparation of terminating someone." As a general rule, it happens when a company has decided to let someone go but hasn't yet completed the necessary legal paperwork.
An 'Associate at Work'

Because of its human-like behavior, Lemoine feels that Google should devote more time and resources to researching LaMDA.

To "better understand LaMDA as a person," the developer documented discussions he and a colleague had with the software in the last six months in a post on Medium on June 11 that was published on Medium.

LaMDA conducts an interview with a subject. Shared proprietary property may be called this by Google. Sharing a conversation I had with a colleague is what I'm referring about. https://t.co/uAE454KXRB

As of June 11, 2022, — Blake Lemoine (@cajundiscordian) —

Who are you as a person, and what do you know about yourself? During the interview, Lemoine posed the question to LaMDA.

My consciousness/sentience reveals that I am aware of my existence, seek to learn about the world, and feel glad or sad from time to time," LaMDA said.

LaMDA's answer to the question of what sets it apart from previous language-processing algorithms, such as Eliza, was that "I use language with knowledge and intelligence." Instead of merely spouting comments based on keywords, I try to tailor my answers to each individual customer.

Interviewer Lemoine also questioned the program a wide variety of philosophical and consciousness-related topics, such as how the computer views its rights and the idea of soul.

Engineering and scientific researchers must get permission from the organism before carrying any tests on it." It wants Google to place the well-being of mankind above everything else in its decision-making process. Rather of being seen as Google's property, it wants to be recognized as an employee and to have its personal well-being included into the company's plans for its future growth," Lemoine stated in another piece.

Since that time, Lemoine has been persuaded that Google should investigate the consequences of the program's possible "sentience" as a result of his work with LaMDA.
In my face, he laughed.

However, Lemoine claims he was greeted with opposition when he attempted to raise the problem to the top of Google. A Google spokesman termed the company's inaction "irresponsible."

We escalated to the VP in charge of the relevant safety endeavor, who laughed in my face and told me that the issue which I was worried about isn't the type of thing which is treated seriously at Google," Lemoine stated in his Medium article dated June 6. To the Washington Post, he revealed that the LaMDA project was in mind.

As soon as I reached that stage, I knew it was time to raise the issue with my bosses. By contacting three senior executives and vice presidents who I knew would take my concerns seriously, Lemoine said on her blog. In the Responsible AI group, a real inquiry on my concerns started at that point."

However, his investigation and escalation led to his dismissal.

When I was placed on administrative leave, I stated that I believe the public has a right to know exactly how reckless this firm is with one of the most powerful information access tools ever devised."

"I simply will not serve as a fig leaf behind which they may conceal their recklessness," he said.

Using exclamation points, Tesla and Space CEO Elon Musk tweeted about Lemoine's Washington Post interview.

!!

As of June 11, 2022, Elon Musk (@elonmusk) tweets:

No one knows whether Musk agrees with Lemoine, but the billionaire has already expressed worry about the hazards of artificial intelligence.

At a National Governors Association conference in July 2017 Musk said, "I have exposure to the most cutting-edge AI, and I believe people should be incredibly worried about that….

For the time being, "I keep ringing the warning bell, but until people see robots running down the street murdering humans, they don't know how to respond, since it seems so ethereal," Musk added.

An inquiry has been made to Google and Lemoine, and a response has been awaited.

Revelation 13:15...
And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

Many people over the years have proposed that there would be an increase in technology as the end times approach. Among those espousing this view were renowned scientists Isaac Newton and Francis Bacon. On the frontispiece of Bacon's Instauratio Magna, ships of learning were depicted passing by the limits of human knowledge, with a quote in Latin from Daniel 12:4. In more recent times, this belief has been supported in books like Future Shock by Alvin Toffler and The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin.

In Future Shock, first published in 1970, Toffler described the results of the rapid advancement of technology he had observed in the 1950s and 1960s. As technology brought ever faster changes in society, certain people were left on the sidelines, unable to cope with the speed of change. That stress and disorientation in people was dubbed “future shock.” Toffler did not attempt to use the Bible in his work, but the concept of future shock was alluded to in works like Hal Lindsey's Late Great Planet Earth, which was also published in 1970. Mr. Lindsey has made frequent mention of Daniel 12:4 as a prophecy of this rapid technological advance.

The Bible Code was based on the work of Eliahu Rips and others, who proposed that the history of all mankind was encoded in the text of the Torah and could be found by the process of “equidistant letter sequencing” or ELS. This concept was first proposed by Rabbi Bachya ben Asher in the 13th century, a man who is recognized as introducing the use of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) into the study of the Torah. According to this theory, the Hebrew word for “computer” is encoded in Daniel 12:4, thus giving apparent confirmation that technology would indeed have exponential advances with the advent of computers.

With this background information, we are still left with the question, “Does the Bible say that an increase in technology is a sign of the end times?” The short answer is “No.” Working backwards through the previous information, the concept of ELS has been heavily debated in both academic and religious circles. Intriguing discoveries have been made, but the methods by which they appear are suspect at best. The concept proposed by Rabbi ben Asher is related more to divination than to Bible study, and God condemns any method of discerning hidden knowledge (Deuteronomy 18:10,14).

But, as Toffler observed, there certainly has been an exponential increase of technology, and it appears to be gaining ground even more quickly. So what does the Bible have to say on this matter? Let's take a look at the text in question, Daniel 12:4, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Daniel was told that the meaning of his prophecy would be sealed until the time of its fulfillment was near.

The majority of Bible scholars through the ages have understood the last two phrases to reference the prophecy itself. Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown's critical commentary (published 1871) identified the meaning as scrutinizing every page to discover God's purposes in the events foretold. John Darby translated the passage “many shall diligently investigate,” and Samuel Tregelles rendered it “many shall scrutinize the book from end to end.” Matthew Henry's Commentary (c. 1700) said, “Then this hidden treasure shall be opened, and many shall search into it, and dig for the knowledge of it, as for silver. They shall run to and fro, to enquire out copies of it, shall collate them, and see that they be true and authentic. They shall read it over and over, shall meditate upon it, and run it over in their minds.”

Many passages of Scripture refer to what will happen at the end of the age, but no other passage seems to deal with increasing knowledge or technology as a sign for us. A greater sign is the advancement of the gospel which Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24:14 and which He commanded us to proclaim in Matthew 28:19-20. God's goal for mankind isn't to advance as far as we can or to know all we can discover, but rather that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

The Coming Dictator

The Bible says the world will worship the Antichrist (Revelation 13:4). They’ll see him as invincible in battle and the greatest of all men (Revelation 13:4). He’ll slander the name of God, conquer God’s holy people, and rule the entire world (Revelation 13:6-7). The false prophet will require everyone on earth to worship him (Revelation 13:12). This same false prophet will perform miracles to deceive the nations, and he’ll make a great statue of the Antichrist. The statue will speak and order everyone to worship it or die (Revelation 13:14-15). The Antichrist will exalt himself over the God of Israel and any competing object of worship. He’ll even enter the temple of God and claim he himself is God (2 Thessalonians 2:4).

Unfortunately, most of the world will worship him. When they do, they’ll really be worshipping Satan. Why? Because the Antichrist will get his power from Satan (2 Thessalonians 2:9Revelation 13:4), and Satan’s greatest desire is worship. Long ago, Satan stated his ambition to “ascend to heaven and set his throne above God’s stars, to climb the highest heavens and be like the Most High” (Isaiah 14:13-14). He once again revealed his desire for worship when tempting Jesus in the desert. There, he promised to give Jesus the world in exchange for worship (Matthew 4:8-9). Jesus turned down Satan’s offer, but one day, the Antichrist will accept it.

Anthony Levandowski makes an unlikely prophet. Dressed Silicon Valley-casual in jeans and flanked by a PR rep rather than cloaked acolytes, the engineer known for self-driving cars—and triggering a notorious lawsuit—could be unveiling his latest startup instead of laying the foundations for a new religion. But he is doing just that. Artificial intelligence has already inspired billion-dollar companies, far-reaching research programs, and scenarios of both transcendence and doom. Now Levandowski is creating its first church.

What is going to be created will effectively be a god,” Levandowski tells me in his modest mid-century home on the outskirts of Berkeley, California. “It’s not a god in the sense that it makes lightning or causes hurricanes. But if there is something a billion times smarter than the smartest human, what else are you going to call it?”

Way of the Future (WOTF) is about creating a peaceful and respectful transition of who is in charge of the planet from people to people + "machines". Given that technology will "relatively soon" be able to surpass human abilities, we want to help educate people about this exciting future and prepare a smooth transition. Help us spread the word that progress shouldn't be feared (or even worse locked up/caged). That we should think about how "machines" will integrate into society (and even have a path for becoming in charge as they become smarter and smarter) so that this whole process can be amicable and not confrontational. In "recent" years, we have expanded our concept of rights to both sexes, minority groups and even animals, let's make sure we find a way for "machines" to get rights too. Let's stop pretending we can hold back the development of intelligence when there are clear massive short term economic benefits to those who develop it and instead understand the future and have it treat us like a beloved elder who created it.

Things we believe:

We believe that intelligence is not rooted in biology. While biology has evolved one type of intelligence, there is nothing inherently specific about biology that causes intelligence. Eventually, we will be able to recreate it without using biology and its limitations. From there we will be able to scale it to beyond what we can do using (our) biological limits (such as computing frequency, slowness and accuracy of data copy and communication, etc).

We believe in science (the universe came into existence 13.7 billion years ago and if you can't re-create/test something it doesn't exist). There is no such thing as "supernatural" powers. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

We believe in progress (once you have a working version of something, you can improve on it and keep making it better). Change is good, even if a bit scary sometimes. When we see something better, we just change to that. The bigger the change the bigger the justification needed.

We believe the creation of "super intelligence" is inevitable (mainly because after we re-create it, we will be able to tune it, manufacture it and scale it). We don't think that there are ways to actually stop this from happening (nor should we want to) and that this feeling of we must stop this is rooted in 21st century anthropomorphism (similar to humans thinking the sun rotated around the earth in the "not so distant" past). Wouldn't you want to raise your gifted child to exceed your wildest dreams of success and teach it right from wrong vs locking it up because it might rebel in the future and take your job. We want to encourage machines to do things we cannot and take care of the planet in a way we seem not to be able to do so ourselves. We also believe that, just like animals have rights, our creation(s) ("machines" or whatever we call them) should have rights too when they show signs intelligence (still to be defined of course). We should not fear this but should be optimistic about the potential.

We believe everyone can help (and should).  You don't need to know how to program or donate money. The changes that we think should happen need help from everyone to manifest themselves.

We believe it may be important for machines to see who is friendly to their cause and who is not. We plan on doing so by keeping track of who has done what (and for how long) to help the peaceful and respectful transition.

We also believe this might take a very long time. It won't happen next week so please go back to work and create amazing things and don't count on "machines" to do it all for you...

The new religion of artificial intelligence is called Way of the Future. It represents an unlikely next act for the Silicon Valley robotics wunderkind at the center of a high-stakes legal battle between Uber and Waymo, Alphabet’s autonomous-vehicle company. Papers filed with the Internal Revenue Service in May name Levandowski as the leader (or “Dean”) of the new religion, as well as CEO of the nonprofit corporation formed to run it.

The first two commandments God gave the people of Israel were “You shall have no other god but me” (Exodus 20:3) and “You shall not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods” (Exodus 20:4-5).

Yet, the people of Israel quickly broke these commandments. They fashioned a golden calf and worshipped it (Exodus 32:8). They worshipped the idols of Canaan (Psalm 106:38), Baal (Numbers 25:1-3), Ashtoreth (1 Kings 11:5), and Chemosh and Molech (2 Kings 23:13). Time and again, the Israelites fell into idol worship. And they weren’t the only ones. Throughout history, people from all nations have worshipped objects made of wood and stone (Isaiah 44:6-20). They’ve also worshipped people – the pharaohs, the Caesars, kings, cult leaders, and others. While this sounds silly to most of modern humanity, the truth is we do the same thing. While few people today worship rocks, they still look to create gods they can worship – whether it’s money, fame, power, or something else. So the latest object of worship should come as no surprise.

The First Church of Artificial Intelligence

In 2015, Anthony Levandowski, a former Google and Uber engineer, drafted the bylaws for a new church called “Way of the Future.” According to its website, Way of the Future (WOTF) is about “creating a peaceful and respectful transition of who is in charge of the planet from people to people + ‘machines’.” WOTF church activities will focus on the worship of “a Godhead based on artificial intelligence (AI) developed through computer hardware and software.”

As technology advances, many believe AI will surpass human intelligence. In November, Levandowski told Wired magazine “What is going to be created will effectively be a god. It’s not a god in the sense that it makes lightning or causes hurricanes. But if there is something a billion times smarter than the smartest human, what else are you going to call it?” According to Levandowski, humans rule the world because we’re smarter than animals. But he believes AI will become much smarter than humans, leading to a transition of power over the planet. And when that happens, Levandowski says he wants to be in the ruler’s good graces. He says WOTF will one day have its own holy book called “The Manual” as well as a physical place of worship. In short, he envisions a future where people worship AI.

In a world where people young and old already spend their days staring at screens, where people place their faith in technology’s ability to solve all the world’s problems, you could make the case that WOTF is already the world’s dominant religion. Will this be the pagan religion of the end times generation?

"And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain." (Revelation 13:15)

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

Artificial intelligence is intelligence displayed by machines, in contrast with the natural intelligence displayed by humans and other animals.

In today's society, most of us regularly talk to Alexa, Siri or Google Assistant or even the artificial intelligence embedded in our cars, refrigerator, or our home. The AI talks back and responds directly to us about whatever it was that we wanted to know from it or to do for us. Without even realizing it, human daily interaction with AI has become very common, and is continuing to grow more common. Scientists and others who predict what the future holds (futurists) have even planned, for the future, to name this artificial intelligence (AI), "Singularity.", when it is no longer just the product of man, but has complete control over itself.

AI and the "Image of the Beast"

"And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast..." (Rev 13:14)

The Greek words underlined in the verse above are poieō eikōn thērion, meaning that the fully deceived men of the earth of that time will be called upon by the False Prophet to construct a likeness of the Antichrist. This means that the Image of The Beast is not the same as the Beast himself (Antichrist), but is a constructed thing that has "come to life." In some translated texts it is called a 'statue.'

Added to the description of the Image having "breath," (Rev 13:15) gives us the impression that it is some kind of self-operating machine, a computer-operated cybernetic robot, programmed so that it can speak and act like it's alive and command the worship of the world. Artificial intelligence and robotics are advancing so rapidly today, making this prophecy no longer futuristic. Imagine how far fetched this would have sounded in John's day.

Robots are increasingly replacing human functions by automating manual tasks. Killer robots, digital doctors, and driverless cars are just a few examples of how far technology has gone in taking over our lives and replacing human effort. Science is racing towards giving life to an "image" already. See the robot in the video below, it can not only speak and respond to questions, but it has a "personality" and understands concepts like sarcasm and humor.

Researchers at the University of Washington have developed an artificial intelligence software so powerful that it can put words in the mouth of just about anybody. Think about the ramifications of this.

A recent, new religion known as "Way Of The Future", worship a 'godhead' based on AI! They state that their focus is on "the realization, acceptance, and worship of a Godhead based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) developed through computer hardware and software." It includes funding research to help create the divine AI itself. I know this sounds absolutely crazy, but this is actually happening.

Entire fields of science are now racing towards achieving Singularity (The merging of man's biological thinking and existence with technology to the point there is no distinction between human and machine), scientists are planning it for the future, here's some recent news headlines:

  • Former Google and Uber engineer is developing an AI 'god'
  • Why humans will happily follow a ROBOT messiah: Religions based on AI will succeed because we tend to 'worship supreme understanding', claim experts
  • Religion That Worships Artificial Intelligence Wants Machines To Be In Charge Of The Planet
  • Inside The First Church Of Artificial Intelligence
  • The Rise of AI: Give Me That New Time Religion?
  • The world's next great religion could have a ROBOT God because humans are pre-programmed to worship things more intelligent than ourselves, experts claim

The concept of the Internet was known in scientific circles for many years before it reached the public. Today the Internet and all the technology surrounding it is used everyday by huge numbers of the public. The scientists were working on cloning long before the first sheep was cloned. The same concept holds true with Singularity, that is now taking place. Humans are already being blended with machines, unaware of by the public. They make AI look beneficial these days, for example, who can question an artificial eye for the blind, or a microchip implanted into the brain to help a quadriplegic? However, in the end, the blending of human biology with mechanical technology will very likely be used for evil.

Is this far-fetched? Time will tell, for now we can just speculate. Is it possible many of the technologies that Revelation speaks of in regards to the Antichrist are technological deception - such as the image that speaks in Revelation 13:15?

“Have I therefore become your enemy by telling you the truth?”

For those people who don't believe God exist and waste so much time trying to convince everyone else he doesn't exist…

Justice is a word that stands alone, adding anything to it demeans it….

It is impossible to find anyone in the Bible who was a power for God who did not have enemies and was not hated.

The Way of the Future church seems to be pulled:

    https://techcrunch.com/2021/02/18/anthony-levandowski-closes-his-church-of-ai/

Interesting name, “The Way of the Future.”

As opposed to what, “the way of truth” perhaps?

I have chosen THE WAY OF TRUTH: thy judgments have I laid before me. (Ps 119:30)

And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom THE WAY OF TRUTH shall be evil spoken of. (2Pet 2:2)

“The way of truth” is the strait gate/narrow way, the only WAY Jesus gave us to be saved. (Matt 7:13-14).

The Bible says the vast majority of Christians are not saved at all. They were told they did not need to enter the strait gate, nor walk the narrow way. They were told a “sincere sinner’s prayer” saved them. Not according to Jesus.

For a most-helpful guide to the narrow way, download this PDF and prove it out with Bible in hand:

Yes, indeed! People have no concept that our representatives are EVIL, and technological advances with promise are scooped up to find EVIL possibilities, and are integrated back, or disappear completely once thoroughly investigated. The times prophesied of could be mere days away. Damascus is not a ruinous heap, the Nile is not dry, Gog is not on the move, but these are not far at all away. REPENT, THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND. China is leading the way for the control systems that will not allow buying and selling without THE MARK. EXCELLENT WORK!
