Jason Aldean And Re fighting America's Civil War

HNewsWire:

Jason Aldean and General William T. Sherman
What does Jason Aldean have to do with Ulysses Grant?

The Confederacy As A Proxy For White America

A key to understanding current-year American politics is that a large swath of Americans hates the founding population of America. You can see this in reactions to Jason Aldean's hit "Try That In A Small Town" and in the removal of statues and monuments (which started with the removal of Confederate monuments, but as President Trump predicted, moved on to the removal of statues of America's Founders, such as Thomas Jefferson.

Ironically, as I noted in my post on Aldean's hit last week (Try That In A Small Town), the rural whites who are descendants of the men who settled America tend to be less racist than newer Americans who look down on them:

Jason Aldean is an avatar of the kind of Americans who help out their neighbors of all races when disaster strikes, as the "Cajun Navy" has during floods in the South.

cajunnavy2

Why would the Media Medusa would want to attack and radicalize them?

To answer my question there, attacking rural whites does make some sense from the Democrats' perspective. As the journalist Steve Sailer has pointed out, the Democrats are essentially a "coalition of the fringes"--groups that have little in common with each other, so they need a common enemy to unite against.

What's interesting, though, is that you also see this hostility among some diverse Republicans now, such as the one who tweeted the meme with Union Civil War Ulysses Grant replying to Jason Aldean. As "Garak Obama" pointed out in his quote tweet below, this kind of meme is motivated by hatred of rural white conservatives.

Retconning The Civil War

Garak Obama elaborated on how Diverse America uses the Civil War as a cudgel against Legacy America in the thread below. The photo he leads with, of elderly Union and Confederate veterans shaking hands on the site of the battle at Gettysburg, is instructive. The North and South made peace with each other, and honoring the heroes of the South was part of that. Those whose ancestors weren't here during the Civil War but pick at its scabs anyway have a more evil agenda.

Nearly half of Americans fear their country will erupt within the next decade. Ahead of the midterm elections this week, three experts analyse the depth of the crisisSun 6 Nov 2022 04.00 ESTLast modified on Wed 23 Nov 2022 15.06 EST

Americans are increasingly talking about civil war. In August, after the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Florida home, Twitter references to “civil war” jumped 3,000%. Trump supporters immediately went online, tweeting threats that a civil war would start if Trump was indicted. One account wrote: “Is it Civil-War-O’clock yet?”; another said, “get ready for an uprising”. Lindsey Graham, a Republican senator from South Carolina, said there would be “riots in the streets” if Trump was indicted. Trump himself predicted that “terrible things are going to happen” if the temperature wasn’t brought down in the country. Perhaps most troubling, Americans on both sides of the political divide increasingly state that violence is justified. In January 2022, 34% of Americans surveyed said that it was sometimes OK to use violence against the government. Seven months later, more than 40% said that they believed civil war was at least somewhat likely in the next 10 years. Two years ago, no one was talking about a second American civil war. Today it is common.

Are America’s fears overblown? The most frequent question I get asked following my book How Civil Wars Start: And How to Stop Them is whether a civil war could happen again in the US. Sceptics argue that America’s government is too powerful for anyone to challenge. Others argue that secession will never happen because our country is no longer cleanly divided along geographic lines. Still others simply cannot believe that Americans would start killing one another. These beliefs, however, are based on the mistaken idea that a second civil war would look like the first. It will not.

If a second civil war breaks out in the US, it will be a guerrilla war fought by multiple small militias spread around the country. Their targets will be civilians – mainly minority groups, opposition leaders and federal employees. Judges will be assassinated, Democrats and moderate Republicans will be jailed on bogus charges, black churches and synagogues bombed, pedestrians picked off by snipers in city streets, and federal agents threatened with death should they enforce federal law. The goal will be to reduce the strength of the federal government and those who support it, while also intimidating minority groups and political opponents into submission.

We know this because far-right groups such as the Proud Boys have told us how they plan to execute a civil war. They call this type of war “leaderless resistance” and are influenced by a plan in The Turner Diaries(1978), a fictitious account of a future US civil war. Written by William Pierce, founder of the neo-Nazi National Alliance, it offers a playbook for how a group of fringe activists can use mass terror attacks to “awaken” other white people to their cause, eventually destroying the federal government. The book advocates attacking the Capitol building, setting up a gallows to hang politicians, lawyers, newscasters and teachers who are so-called “race traitors”, and bombing FBI headquarters.

Pages of The Turner Diaries were found in Timothy McVeigh’s truck after he attacked a federal building in Oklahoma City in April 1995. Patrick Crusius, the alleged El Paso Walmart gunman, and John Timothy Earnest, the accused shooter at a synagogue in Poway, California, echoed the book’s ideas in their manifestos. A member of the Proud Boys can be seen on video during the insurrection on 6 January 2021 telling a journalist to read The Turner Diaries.

Election deniers are running for office in 48 of the 50 states

The US is not yet in a civil war. But a 2012 declassified report by the CIA on insurgencies outlines the signs. According to the report, a country is experiencing an open insurgency when sustained violence by increasingly active extremists has become the norm. By this point, violent extremists are using sophisticated weapons, such as improvised explosive devices, and begin to attack vital infrastructure (such as hospitals, bridges and schools), rather than just individuals. These attacks also involve a larger number of fighters, some of whom have combat experience. There is often evidence, according to the report, “of insurgent penetration and subversion of the military, police, and intelligence services”.

In this early stage of civil war, extremists are trying to force the population to choose sides, in part by demonstrating to citizens that the government cannot keep them safe or provide basic necessities. The goal is to incite a broader civil war by denigrating the state and growing support for violent measures.

Insurgency experts wondered whether 6 January would be the beginning of such a sustained series of attacks. This has not yet happened, in part because of aggressive counter-measures by the FBI. The FBI has arrested more than 700 individuals who participated in the riot, charging 225 of them with assaulting, resisting or impeding officers or employees. Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the Oath Keepers, will almost certainly go to jail for his role in helping to organise the insurrection, as will numerous other participants. But this setback is likely to be temporary.

Civil war experts know that two factors put countries at high risk of civil war. The US has one of these risk factors and remains dangerously close to the second. Neither risk factor has diminished since 6 January. The first is ethnic factionalism. This happens when citizens in a country organise themselves into political parties based on ethnic, religious, or racial identity rather than ideology. The second is anocracy. This is when a government is neither fully democratic nor fully autocratic; it’s something in between. Civil wars almost never happen in full, healthy, strong democracies. They also seldom happen in full autocracies. Violence almost always breaks out in countries in the middle – those with weak and unstable pseudo-democracies. Anocracy plus factionalism is a dangerous mix.

We also know who tends to start civil wars, especially those fought between different ethnic, religious and racial groups. This also does not bode well for the US. The groups that tend to resort to violence are not the poorest groups, or the most downtrodden. It’s the group that had once been politically dominant but is losing power. It’s the loss of political status – a sense of resentment that they are being replaced and that the identity of their country is no longer theirs – that tends to motivate these groups to organise. Today, the Republican party and its base of white, Christian voters are losing their dominant position in American politics and society as a result of demographic changes. Whites are the slowest-growing demographic in the US and will no longer be a majority of the population by around 2044. Their status will continue to decline as America becomes more multi-ethnic, multiracial, and multireligious, and the result will be increasing resentment and fear at what lies ahead. The people who stormed the Capitol on 6 January believed they were saving America from this future and felt fully justified in this fight.

America’s democracy declined rapidly between 2016 and 2020. Since 6 January 2021, the US has failed to strengthen its democracy in any way, leaving it vulnerable to continued backsliding into the middle zone. In fact, the Republican party has accelerated its plan to weaken our democracy further. Voter suppression bills have been introduced in almost every state since 6 January. Election deniers are running for office in 48 of the 50 states and now represent a majority of all Republicans running for Congressional and state offices in the US midterm elections this week. Trump loyalists are being elected secretaries of state in key swing states, increasing the likelihood that Republican candidates will be granted victory, even if they lose the vote. And America’s two big political parties remain deeply divided by race and religion. If these underlying conditions do not change, a leader like Stewart Rhodes of the Oath Keepers can go to jail, but other disaffected white men will take his place.

Regulate social media… the result would be a drop in everyone’s collective anger, distrust and feelings of threat

What is happening in the US is not unique. White supremacists have leapt on projections that the US will be the first western democracy where white citizens could lose their majority status. This is forecast to happen around 2044. Far-right parties of wealthy western countries have issued ominous warnings about the end of white dominance, seeking to stoke hatred by emphasising the alleged costs – economic, social, moral – of such transformation. We are already seeing elements of this in Europe, where rightwing anti-immigrant parties such as the Sweden Democrats, the Brothers of Italy, Alternative für Deutschland in Germany, the Vlaams Belang in Belgium, the National Rally in France and the Freiheitliche Partei Österreichs in Austria have all seen their support increase in recent years.

What can we do about this? The obvious answers are for our political leaders to invest heavily in strengthening our democracies and to have their political parties reach across racial, religious and ethnic lines. But here in America, the Democratic party does not have the votes to institute much-needed reforms of our political system, and the Republicans have no interest; they are moving in the opposite direction.

But there is a potentially easy fix. Regulate social media, and in particular the algorithms that disproportionately push the more incendiary, extreme, threatening and fear-inducing information into people’s feeds. Take away the social media bullhorn and you turn down the volume on bullies, conspiracy theorists, bots, trolls, disinformation machines, hate-mongers and enemies of democracy. The result would be a drop in everyone’s collective anger, distrust and feelings of threat, giving us all time to rebuild.

Stephen Marche: ‘America has passed the point at which the triumph of one party or another can fix what’s wrong with it’

Canadian novelist and essayist and author of The Next Civil War: Dispatches from the American Future (Simon & Schuster)

The United States is a textbook example of a country headed towards civil war. The trends increasingly point one way, and while nobody knows the future, little – if anything – is being done, by anyone, to try to prevent the collapse of the republic. Belief in democracy is ebbing. The legitimacy of institutions is declining. America increasingly is entering a state where its citizens don’t want to belong to the same country. These are conditions ripe for political violence.

No civil war ever has a single cause. It’s always a multitude of factors that lead to decline and collapse. The current US has several of what the CIA calls “threat multipliers”: environmental crises continue to batter the country, economic inequality is at its highest level since the founding of the country, and demographic change means that the US will be a minority white country within just over two decades. All of these factors tend to contribute to civil unrest wherever they are found in the world.

But the US is more vulnerable to political violence than other countries because of the decrepitude of its institutions. For 40 years, trust in institutions of all kinds – the church, the police, journalism, academia – has been in freefall. Trust in politicians can hardly fall any lower. And there is no reason for trust. The constitution, while unquestionably a work of genius, was a work of 18th-century genius. It simply does not reflect, nor can it respond to, the realities of the 21st century.

The divide between the American political system and any reflection of the popular will is widening, and increasingly it cannot be ignored. The electoral college system means that, in the near term, a Democrat will win the popular mandate by many millions of votes and still lose the presidency. The crisis of democracy will only grow. With around 345 election deniers on the ballot as candidates in November, the Republicans appear to have evolved a new political strategy, seemingly based on the gambling strategy of Joe Pesci’s character in Casino: if they win, they collect. If they don’t, they tell the bookies to go away. Unless there is a completely separate Republican leadership in place by 2024, they will simply ignore the results they don’t like.

The American electoral system is already hugely localised, outdated and held together by good faith. Any failure to recognise electoral outcomes, even in a few states, could result in a contested election in which nobody reaches the threshold of 270 electoral college votes. In that case, the constitution stipulates a “contingent election” – acclimatise yourself to this phrase now – in which each state gets a single vote. That’s right: if no candidate in an American presidential election reaches the threshold of 270 electoral college votes, the House delegations from individual states, overwhelmingly dominated by Republicans, pick the president, with each state having one vote

The confusion of legal status of a separate group of persons is a classic prelude to civil war

In 1824, the candidate who won the popular vote and the most electoral college votes, Andrew Jackson, did not become president. John Quincy Adams fudged his way through. A contingent election is one mechanism, just one, by which an American government could be perfectly constitutional and completely undemocratic at the same time. The right has been preparing for exactly such a reality for a while, with a phrase they repeat as if in hope that it will mean something if they say it enough: “We’re a republic, not a democracy.”

Quasi-legitimacy is what leads to violence. And America’s political institutions are destined to become more and more quasi-legitimate from now on. One of the surest markers of incipient civil war in other countries is the legal system devolving from a non-partisan, truly national institution to a spoil of partisan war. That has already happened in the US.

The overturning of Roe v Wade, in June, was both a symptom of the new American divisiveness and a cause of its spread. The Dobbs decision (in which the supreme court held that the US constitution does not confer the right to abortion) took the status of women in the US and dropped it like a plate-glass window from a great height. It will take a generation or more to sweep up the shards. What women are or are not allowed to do with their bodies – abortions, IVF procedures, birth control, maintaining the privacy of their menstrual cycles, crossing state lines – now depends on the state and county lines in which their bodies happen to reside. The legal reality of American women is no longer national in nature. When a woman travels from Illinois to Ohio, she becomes a different entity, with different rights and duties.

The court itself is well aware of the legal carnage it has caused. “If, over time, the court loses all connection with the public and with public sentiment, that is a dangerous thing for democracy,” associate justice Elena Kagan said shortly afterwards. Her conservative colleague Samuel A Alito responded: “It goes without saying that everyone is free to express disagreement with our decisions and to criticise our reasoning as they see fit. But saying or implying that the court is becoming an illegitimate institution or questioning our integrity crosses an important line.” But what anyone says or implies is of little to no importance at this point. The percentage of the American public having almost no confidence in the supreme court reached 43% in July, up from 27% in April. The confusion of legal status of a separate group of persons is a classic prelude to civil war.

The justices of the court, and the American public, are just catching up with the inevitable consequences of the refusal of Congressional Republicans to allow President Obama to select Merrick Garland for the court and then going on to confirm three Trump nominees, resulting in a court skewed six: three to the right. The supreme court feels illegitimate because it is illegitimate. The Dobbs decision does not reflect the will of the American people because the supreme court does not reflect the will of the American people.

Elections have consequences, right up until the point when they don’t. On a superficial level, the 2022 midterms couldn’t matter more; American democracy itself is at stake. On a deeper level, the 2022 midterms don’t matter all that much; they will inform us, if anything, of the schedule and the manner of the fall of the republic. The results might delay the decline, or accelerate it, but at this point, no merely political outcome can prevent the downfall. America has passed the point at which the triumph of one party or another can fix what’s wrong with it, and the kind of structural change that’s necessary isn’t on the table. This is a moment between two American politics. The wind has been sown. The whirlwind is yet to be reaped.

Christopher Sebastian Parker: ‘Many white people feel the need to take drastic measures to maintain white supremacy’

Professor of political science at University of California, Santa Barbara and author of Change They Can’t Believe In: The Tea Party and Reactionary Politics in America (Princeton)

America is rushing headlong into another civil war, and it’s a matter of when, not if. As political scientist Prof Barbara F Walter argues, civil wars are likely in the presence of two factors: anocracy and ethnic factionalism. When one considers the centrality of race to American politics, it is clear that ethno-nationalism is hastening the movement towards anocracy.

Think about the role of race in the first civil war and the one we’re headed towards. It’s well documented that the repulsive nature of the institution of slavery was the principal cause of the civil war, driven by moral as well as economic and political concerns. In 19th-century America, the Democratic party was a relatively reactionary institution in the south, whereas the Republican party was a relatively progressive institution located in the north. Republicans supported the abolition of slavery, whereas 19th-century Democrats were all for it. Regardless of the outcome of the war – driven as it was by the prospect of material gain or loss, moral redemption or amorality – the war came to rest on the fulcrum of race and racism.

Throughout history, political identity in the US has ultimately been driven by the parties’ respective positions on race, with divisions sorting primarily by way of racial identity and racial attitudes. Contemporary Republicans, for instance, tend to be white and relatively racist. Democrats are more likely to draw from a more diverse pool and, as such, are, typically, less racist. To illustrate this point, Republicans are far more alarmed by a diversifying country.

Likewise, white people were and are more likely to support Trump, driven by the anxiety associated with the rapid racial diversification of “their” country. What, you may ask, do white people and the Republican party have in common? Well, 80% of Republican voters are white.

The consequences of the centrality of race and racism to American politics and the threat of internal war are dire. It was racism that was ultimately responsible for the rise of the Tea Party, a reaction to Obama’s (racialised) presidency. The Tea Party (now the Maga movement), in turn, moved the GOP to the right, eventually setting the stage for Trump.

With Trump pushing the “big lie” that the 2020 election was stolen, and many Republicans buying into it, the stage is set for another American war of all against all. We’ve seen this before. The civil war, as it happens, was set in motion by the refusal of the Democrats to accept Abraham Lincoln as the legitimate winner of the 1860 contest given his views on slavery: he thought it morally wrong.

But it wasn’t the economics of slavery that motivated the south’s insistence on maintaining what was known as the “peculiar institution”. Only 3.24.75 % of the white southern population owned slaves. Clearly, then, the maintenance of slavery as an economic institution carried no value for almost all white southerners. With economic reasons absent, why were white southerners willing to fight a war over slavery? The southern way of life: white supremacy. As part of southern culture, these people were not ready to forfeit their social dominance, relative to the Black community.

These conditions remain in place. As many white people (Republicans) confront the fear that by 2044 they’ll no longer be in the ethnic majority, they feel the need to take drastic measures to maintain white supremacy. It’s all they’ve ever known. It happened in the 1860s; what’s to prevent it from happening now?

Look for the next civil war to take place after the 2024 election cycle, when the next wave of violence is likely to emerge. Similar to the original civil war, there’s too much at stake for both sides. Then, as now, the threats are existential. In the 19th century, Democrats viewed the newly established Republican party as a threat to their way of life. Republicans, for their part, saw southern intransigence on the issue of slavery as a threat to the union.

Today, Republicans, driven by the existential threat of losing “their” (white) country, will continue their attack on democracy as a means towards preserving America for “real” Americans. Democrats, on the other hand, see the “Magafication” of the GOP as an existential threat to liberal democracy.

Election-related violence generally takes place when the following four factors are present: a highly competitive election that can shift power; partisan division based on identity; winner-takes-all two-party election systems in which political identities are polarised; and an unwillingness to punish violence on the part of the dominant group. All four are present in America now, and will be more amplified in 2024.

We’re almost there. White angst over increasing racial diversity makes another Trump candidacy (and presidency) likely, pushing us into anocracy. Democrats are having none of that. They’ll resist going down the slippery slope to autocracy the same way that their 19th-century counterparts, the party of Lincoln, refused to let the Confederacy bust up the union. Likewise, should Democrats prevail in 2024, Republicans will revolt – the 6 January Capitol attack is a forewarning.

Either way, I’ll wager that a civil war featuring terrorism, guerrilla war and ethnic cleansing will be waged from sea to shining sea. In the end, race and racism will lead to another very American conflagration.

HNewsWire: Our elected officials have turned on the American people, disarming the masses is the beginning of the end for freedom. The Tyrants (Politicians in Virginia)… God knows that evil is not combated with love and understanding. Eighty-six of Virginia’s 95 counties have declared themselves to be Second Amendment Sanctuaries.

Democrats are now all-in on the effort to spark a civil war in America before Trump can win re-election in 2020. The philosophy of Democrats, of course, is, “If we can’t rule it, we will destroy it.” And they know the Trump administration is inching closer every day to revealing the full breadth of corruption and criminality of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Comey and other treasonous criminals (including John McCain).

Notably, all Americans need to understand that until John Brennan, James Comey, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton are arrested and indicted, there is no legitimate, functioning rule of law in America. If the most malicious, treasonous criminals can still walk the streets as free people, even after carrying out the most heinous conspiracy of crimes against America, then we do not have any functioning rule of law at all.

If a civil war is ignited in 2020, it won’t be like the North vs. South arrangement of 1861 – 1865. Rather, it will be structured as a series of state-focused mini-civil wars that pit the armed, rural, pro-American patriots against the treasonous, lawless, anti-American Democrats in their capital cities.

Conflict will be local or regional, in other words, not national. If such conflicts occur where you live, you could very easily find yourself caught up in life-threatening disruptions such as power grid outages, local martial law or truckers refusing to enter the war zones, resulting in long-term supply line outages of food, fuel, medicine, and other important supplies.

That’s why it’s important to consider the areas where local or regional civil war conflicts are likely to occur.

The states most likely to experience civil war conflicts if the lawless Democrats manage to ignite the war they want

Analysis: Such civil war scenarios are most likely to occur primarily in:

  • Democrat-controlled states
  • …that have large regions of conservative residents outside the capital cities
  • …where Democrats are increasingly aggressive in depriving rural residents of their Second Amendment rights
  • … and where gun ownership among private citizens is high

The states with the most restrictive gun laws are shown in the following map:

As you can see, states with the most restrictive gun laws include California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and virtually all the NE states except for Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

  • Virginia (due to its recent activity attacking 2A sanctuaries)
  • Washington
  • Oregon
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Minnesota
  • North Carolina
  • Pennsylvania
  • Illinois

I would put Oregon, Virginia, Washington, and Colorado at the top of that list. Virginia, for example, is currently engaged in an active campaign to ignite kinetic conflict over “gun sanctuaries” (2A sanctuaries) which the ruling Dems of Virginia claim they will not recognize. They’ve also passed a new budget with extra funding designated toward throwing gun owners in prison. It’s almost like they’re begging for an armed uprising. (In fact, that’s exactly what they want so that the national media can paint gun owners as domestic terrorists.)

Other states that may experience local conflicts as the rural citizens seek to eliminate pockets of left-wing tyranny

Even in states that are currently run by conservatives, there are always pockets of left-wing tyranny that may be rooted out once the rule of law collapses. After all, Leftists have been violently attacking Trump supporters in the streets for years, demonizing them with false claims of being “Nazis,” even while Leftists themselves are running fascist censorship campaigns ripped right out of the Third Reich.

I’ve learned from various sources that cops, in particular, are ready to seek out and take out Antifa terrorists who have been involved in violent attacks targeting law enforcement.

Thus, there exists the potential for local conflicts in all the following states, although this risk is likely lower than for the states mentioned earlier:

  • Nevada
  • Utah
  • Idaho
  • Wyoming
  • Arizona
  • New Mexico
  • Montana
  • Kentucky
  • Texas
  • Nebraska
  • Kansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Iowa
  • Missouri
  • Arkansas
  • Louisiana
  • Mississippi
  • Michigan
  • Wisconsin
  • Indiana
  • Tennessee
  • Alabama
  • Georgia
  • Ohio
  • West Virginia
  • Maine
  • New Hampshire
  • Vermont

Among those states, the ones most likely to experience smaller, local conflicts are probably New Mexico, Texas, Michigan and Georgia, all of which are mostly rural states characterized by extreme corruption and tyranny of Democrats who seek to destroy the rights of rural citizens.

States with strong democrat control throughout

States where Democrat control is so strong that no pro-America forces are likely to challenge their power include:

  • Connecticut
  • Maryland
  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Rhode Island

California has a special status in all this, given that Gov. Newsom has his own private army and has already completed a secret deal with communist China to turn the West Coast ports into military landing zones for invading Chinese troops. (Newsom is a total criminal who should be indicted for treason.) This means rural Californians may find themselves fighting not only Democrat-controlled anti-America forces in the left-wing cities, but also facing invading foreign troops. The best strategy for pro-America Californians living outside the cities is to let the cities burn and don’t get sucked into urban combat. Let the Chinese troops face off against the MS-13 gang bangers and see who emerges the victor, then blow their heads off as they try to move Eastward or Northward.

Remember: California’s West Coast cities are death traps without a steady supply of food, fuel electricity and water. Cutting off the supply lines to those cities once they are occupied by enemy forces is by far the most effective strategy to reduce the effectiveness of the forces moving through those regions.

Cities, suburbs and rural areas

No matter where you are in America, you don’t want to be near the cities when it all hits the fan. Given that unprepared people will be your biggest problem, you want to be as far away from population centers as possible.

This night lights map of the USA, overlaid with state boundaries, is particularly helpful for understanding this crucial point. When things go bad, you want to be as far away from the high-density lighted areas as possible:

Note that everything east of the Mississippi, except for the far northeast, is extremely dense in terms of population. The Eastern half of Texas is also quite dense, with way too much light in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.

Denver is lit up, too, as is Phoenix. Along the west coast, you have extreme population density in southern California, plus the Bay Area, Portland, and Seattle.

All these areas characterized by bright night lights are, of course, death traps in any collapse.

If you’re looking to get far, far away from other people, the answers are obvious: Utah, Wyoming, West Texas, Montana, eastern Oregon, Nevada, and so on.

You can even get away from a lot of it in northern California, or western Kansas, for example.

Take another look at the map and notice the total death zone of Chicago. Check out Detroit. Or Miami. How about New York City? These will be locations of mass death and desperation if anything goes wrong: power grid failures, food deliveries, pandemic outbreak, financial collapse, etc. I call these areas “suicide cities.”

One more thing to consider: All the coastlines are of course vulnerable to massive tsunami waves, which means offshore, deep sea bed earthquakes and volcanoes. There are also underwater landslides that produce horrific tsunamis, too.

Living in a coastal city is sort of like begging to be “suicided.” Living in a crowded coastal city with tons of other unprepared, pot-smoking dope heads wandering around is sort of like duct taping a shotgun pointing to your own head and super gluing your thumb to the trigger while begging a friend to tickle you.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

Are you living in a “suicide city” from a survival point of view?

That said, the riskiest places to live in America — from a preparedness point of view, regardless of civil war risk — are Los Angeles, Seattle, San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, Miami, Charleston, and Houston. All these cities suffer from one more enormous vulnerability: You can only escape in a very limited number of directions since these cities are facing the ocean on one side. You have to go inland, which will, of course, be impossible when everyone has the same panicked idea. (Or you could buy a boat and then have fun facing the raping pirates of the lawless high seas…)

A city like St. Louis, on the other hand, has many routes of egress. You can escape into rural Illinois to join the meth heads, or you can run west into rural Missouri to link up with the meth traffickers and exploding meth manufacturing trailers. You could head south into the boot hill of Missouri where you will discover the marijuana growers and heroin smugglers, or you can go north into western Illinois where Democrats run child trafficking “safe house” operations. It’s your choice, you see. Because America is a free country.

You can run in any direction you want when exiting an inland city, but in places like Miami, you can only run north or south. (Unless you enjoy being eaten by alligators to the west.)

Terrain also matters, too. That’s why some people like The Ozarks for hiding out. It’s hilly and full of forests, sort of like the pot-growing counties of Northern California where outlaws are the law. Idaho is famous as a rugged country, too, and parts of rural Colorado make for some really remote getaways.

You need to consider all these factors: Geography, proximity to high-density population centers, ease of egress, the ability to stay hidden, proximity to the coast (or the southern border), and so on. This is why El Paso, Texas is a really bad choice, as it’s certain to be overrun by armed illegal drug cartels at the first opportunity. Las Vegas is also bad for the obvious reason: No water. Everybody will rush to Lake Mead, which will quickly turn into a Mad Max scenario of violence and gang control.

Extreme cold weather tends to weed out really lazy people after just one winter, for some reason

Also consider the fact that cold weather tends to chase away lazy people, which is a good thing. After just one winter without a power grid, there won’t be any lazy people still breathing in places like Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. Mother Nature sort of has a way of weeding out the weak under such circumstances.

That’s why lazy people tend to flock to Southern California and Miami, by the way: It’s easier to survive thereby doing nothing and engaging in no planning whatsoever. These are the very kind of people who utterly refuse to prepare for anything, and they live one day to the next with no planning whatsoever for unforeseen events. When SHTF, these are the very same people who will demand your stuff and accuse you of “hoarding” if you don’t “share equally with everyone.” It’s amazing how mild weather automatically breeds socialism and commie lunatics.

It’s also not a horrible idea to live around people who are, themselves, preppers. You’ll find lots of those people in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. I used to live in Wyoming, and those are some really rugged, determined people there. Especially the ranchers and outfitters. They can survive almost anything. We used to rent snowmobiles and ride through Yellowstone Park when there were four feet of snow on the ground. Ah, the days…

For me, I’ve chosen to live in rural areas of Central Texas for lots of reasons, one of them being you can own, if you wish, a dozen .50 BMG rifles and that’s not considered strange at all. Slinging lead on a Saturday afternoon is practically the most popular past time in the region. As I say, if you don’t hear gunfire on the weekend, you’re either really isolated, or you live too close to a bunch of pathetic panzies who don’t know how to survive. Weekend gunfire is the music of liberty for real Americans who are going to make it through the coming hard times.

In fact, the way you respond to gunfire tells me everything I need to know about you. If your first inclination, upon hearing gunfire, is to panic and call the police, you are a weak-minded city dweller and probably not a survivor. If, on the other hand, it reminds you to practice your own rifle or pistol skills, and you appreciate having armed neighbors who can help lend their skills to the security of your community, then you’re probably going to be just fine.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

Make a decision: Where do you want to be when the music stops?

I sincerely hope all this helps you decide where you want to be when it all comes down. Because chances are, you won’t have much of an opportunity to relocate by the time you realize what’s happening.

You won’t be able to go shopping for more supplies, either, without risking life and limb as part of a crazed mob ransacking all the retail stores. It’s safer to just stay home and safeguard what you already have.

Check out my list of the best survival and combat gear items I purchased in 2019. It’s a great list of stuff you’ll wish you had when SHTF. And don’t forget storable food, since, without food, you can’t fight in self-defense no matter how much combat gear you own.

(T)he Democrats declared war this week. Not on Donald Trump but on GOD’s People and the United States Constitution.

What started as a coup to overturn the 2016 election has now morphed into a Civil War as Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Fran-feces) presided over the passage of a bill which creates a clear Constitutional Crisis.

And that means we have multiple factions vying for control of our government, the definition of a Civil War.

In passing these articles of impeachment against President Trump Congress has arrogated to itself powers it does not have.

Virginia Lawmakers: Destroy the People’s History, and You Have Killed the People

Disarm the people, their fate- slaves to the state, get in the railcar, Hitler’s playbook…

The next thing the socialist/communist rhino RNCs- Anti-American DNCs will do is burn books that state facts about Confederates like the brown shirts in Germany did. After all, they use every branch of the government to go after their political opponents. That is who they are, it defines them… “The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history.” –George Orwell

Virginia Democrats Call for Robert E. Lee Statue to Be Removed from U.S. Capitol.

Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam has indicated that he supports a request from Democratic Reps. Jennifer Wexton and A. Donald McEachin to remove the statue, according to The Washington Post.  Passage of such a proposal is possible because Democrats will control Virginia’s legislature in 2020.

Lee is currently one of two statues representing Virginia in the National Statuary Hall Collection. The other is George Washington, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Lee’s statue has been in the Capitol since 1909,

Wexton and McEachin called on Northam to act in a letter to the governor, noting that the Lee statue is among those erected at a time when other statues to Confederate leaders were being built.

“These statues aimed to rewrite Lee’s reputation from that of a cruel slave owner and Confederate General to portraying him as a kind man and reluctant war hero who selflessly served his home state of Virginia,” they wrote in their letter.x

“As Virginians, we have a responsibility to not only learn from but also confront our history,” they went on. “As part of this responsibility, we must strive for a more complete telling of history by raising up the voices, stories, and memories of minorities and people of color.”

Northam spokesman Alena Yarmosky said in a statement that Northam supports the plan.

“This is something the governor has long wanted to do — he is looking forward to working with the congressional delegation and members of the General Assembly to get it done this year,” the statement said, according to The Post.

Wexton said the Lee statue does not represent Virginia.

“Having Robert E. Lee represents us in the Capitol is not an accurate depiction of the commonwealth of Virginia today. Nor is it an accurate description of the entirety of our history. There’s so much more to Virginia than the Confederacy,” she said.

Republican state Sen. William M. Stanley Jr. mocked the proposal as “unbelievable yet predictable.”

“And while they are at it, they should wheel out the marble George Washington statue,” Stanley said. “What’s next? Are he and Wexton going to ask Ralph to knock down the old Capitol building because it was designed by Thomas Jefferson?” he said.

Arkansas and Florida have already beaten Virginia to the punch by planning to replace existing statues. Arkansas is replacing statues of Confederate lawyer Uriah Milton Rose and former Gov. James P. Clarke, known for his racist beliefs, with civil rights leader Daisy Bates and legendary singer Johnny Cash. Florida will swap its statue of Confederate Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith with one of civil rights leader Mary McLeod Bethune.

A refreshing reminder that leftists are effectively erasing America’s heritage as an important step in transforming America into a socialist state.

destroying monuments is becoming a national sport in America with little outcry and support from the media.  Leftists have become the Taliban, which is no surprise since the goals are similar.  When attempting to force a twisted worldview on society, overthrowing perceived enemies and any connection to a different past is essential.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

When a 200-year old monument of Christopher Columbus was smashed in Baltimore a couple of years back, a sign was hung on it that read, “The future is racial and economic justice.”  In case anyone thought this was just America’s youth acting out as opposed to Marxist-inspired destruction, the act was narrated on YouTube and referenced “capitalist exploitation of labor.”

The leftists started with Confederate monuments, which made a good test to see what kind of resistance they would face.  It was a crafty and evil first play.  The statue destroyers weren’t terribly discriminating. Monuments to peace and to those who opposed slavery were torn down next to the others.

Kicking a toppled Confederate monument in Durham, NC (Twitter)

Few Americans roused themselves to resist, especially after media lies and manipulation around Charlottesville.

The Left’s effort was never about destroying America’s legacy of slavery.  Democrats have been on the side of slavery and then racism at every turn in America’s history.  They were simply starting with the easiest target to normalize their far more insidious goal, which was overthrowing America’s attachment to its history and the ideals this represented.

The shock effect is long gone.  Tearing down a statue in America is now treated as little more than background noise.  This attack on American history will not end until every monument that can’t be co-opted for the leftist agenda is overthrown.

Of course, it starts before the toppling of the statues.  While on the official tour for George Washington’s Mount Vernon homestead, it was hard not to notice that more time was spent talking about Washington the slave owner than Washington the great general or founding father.

The momentum to overthrow a national icon starts subtly, but it builds once the ground is set.  Tear down Columbus and then start mentioning Washington’s history fighting American Indians.  He becomes just another offender of a mythical “Indigenous People’s Day.” This couples nicely with the already rampant attacks on him as a slave owner.  It was seen as good news when a San Francisco school chose only to cover a George Washington mural instead of destroying it.

My daughter recently told me that she was writing an essay on Thomas Jefferson in her high school class.  The topic?  Jefferson’s problematic history with slavery.  That Jefferson is the author of the Declaration of Independence and one of history’s greatest thinkers is irrelevant in the leftist mind.

Icons are flawed men and women of their time.  But, they are icons because they did something great and meaningful for America.  We study George Washington and Thomas Jefferson because of the incredible contributions these great men made to freedom, liberty, and self-governance.  The Left uses them as an opportunity to destroy America.

It’s not just monuments on the menu of destruction.  Kate Smith is a woman who was once awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor for her patriotism and powerful renditions of Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America.”  Her statues are now being torn down even as teams like the Yankees and Flyers refuse to play a song that was once representative of America itself.

A colleague told me that he considers Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” to be a racist anthem because it is sung by people he considers racists.  If such a thing existed, I’m sure he would gladly tear down a Greenwood statue.  But, that’s not necessary.  There is already cultural pressure to avoid playing Greenwood’s powerful patriotic anthem in any place that is not a distinctly conservative setting.  The very idea of being patriotic and proud of America is under attack.

All of this is an attempt to erase America’s history and it should be opposed fiercely.   It is part of the overall effort to undermine America’s values and freedom and is par for the course on the socialist menu.  It is also the toxic offspring of political correctness and racial tribalism.  It all serves the same purpose, which is the fundamental transformation of America into a Marxist state.

If you can damage Thomas Jefferson enough, then the Declaration of Independence must be compromised by extension.  I was mildly surprised when touring the University of Virginia recently that our tour guide spoke so positively about Thomas Jefferson and what he meant to the school.  That won’t last.  In a few years, that beloved statue will be either covered or vandalized, which will serve as a depressing bookend in the same town where American statue destruction exploded into the national consciousness.

Over the last 100+ years, they have slowly been changing the history books being taught in our public schools to bend the minds of our children to their ways of thinking and eliminating teaching the concepts of the US Constitution. Your grandparents would no longer recognize the history that is being taught and what is being left out. According to Stanley Kurtz of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, liberal elements in the education sector are putting a new spin on American history in an attempt to hijack the history of the U.S. for future leftist political gains. To underscore this, he mentions that a group of some 56 history professors from across the U.S. recently published an open letter objecting to the College Board’s new Advanced Placement U.S. History exam.  The exam, they wrote, “shortchanges students by imposing on them an arid, fragmentary, and misleading account of American history.” The letter states that “Educators and the public have been willing to trust the College Board to strike a sensible balance among different approaches to the American past.  Rather than issuing detailed guidelines, the College Board has in the past furnished a brief topical outline for teachers, leaving them free to choose what to emphasize.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

In addition, the previous AP U.S. History course featured a strong insistence on content, i.e., on the students’ acquisition of extensive factual knowledge of American history.  But with the new 2014 framework, the College Board has put forward a lengthy 134-page document which repudiates that earlier approach, centralizes control, deemphasizes content, and promotes a particular interpretation of American history,” the letter concludes. They point out that “there are notable political or ideological biases inherent in the 2014 framework, and certain structural innovations that will inevitably result in an imbalance in the test, and bias in the course. Chief among these is the treatment of American national identity.” Kurtz believes that this change is an attempt to “internationalize” the nation’s past in the minds of young learners.  The College Board disagrees and says that its new test is an attempt to provide balance for teachers and students. Knowing our history helps create our future.  The history of America helps us to understand what made our country so powerful and influential.

The U.S. is envied and emulated throughout the world in one form or another.  Any attempt to revise our country’s past is bound to limit and impede progress in the future. Changing our history may help a select few maintain power, but ultimately will destroy our country as it has to so many others in the past. The new history exam for high schoolers is being influenced by people who lead the movement to internationalize U.S. history, such as NYU history professor Thomas Bender.  Mr. Bender is a self-described proponent of what he calls “transnational connections and the global framing of the history of North America, beginning with earliest European ventures out onto the Atlantic to the present.” What that means is he is a complete critic of American exceptionalism, which is the notion that America is freer and more democratic than any other nation, and for that reason, a model at times (depending who is in office) the chief defender of freedom and self-government around the world. American exceptionalism is real.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

Whether people accept it or not, it’s a fact that, unlike any other nation on the planet, America is a true melting pot, a safe haven for people of all nationalities.  People came here from around the world to help themselves and their families but ended up helping to create a nation that became the envy of the world. People like Bender would rather we look at this country through the eyes of our enemies in order to give us what he calls perspective.   “Americans have always found it difficult to imagine themselves as an enemy, as a problem for other people,” he contends. Bender’s view of our history is that Columbus and his successors didn’t discover America so much as they discovered ‘the ocean world,’ a new global community united by the oceans. The oceans, in turn, made possible the slave trade and the birth of modern capitalism, which improved the lives of Europeans, but brought exploitation and tragic injustice to the rest of the world.  In other words, Bender wants early American history to be less about the Pilgrims, Plymouth Colony, and John Winthrop’s ‘City on a Hill’ speech, and more about the role of the plantation economy and the slave trade in the rise of an intrinsically exploitative international capitalism. You will find this same point of view in the speeches of the liberal politicians running our country and others in positions of power throughout our society. They know, as Hitler did, that if you can brainwash the children to your point of view you can stay in power for a long, long time.  The history of our country is irreversible.  No one has the right to misrepresent the facts.  Those who would pervert the past for political objectives in the future with intellectual claptrap cannot be allowed to succeed in brainwashing our children in their classrooms.

If you can do enough damage to the founding fathers, then it is far easier to overthrow the Constitution, or just ignore it.

1) a “Successful” Assassination of President Trump… As political coexistence collapses across America due to the lawless, mentally ill Leftists who have abandoned every pillar of civil society, civil war is just one ignition event away.

#2) A Senate conviction of Trump and his removal from office by the treasonous Republican party

If the Senate Republicans turn on Trump and convict him for “obstruction of Congress,” it will set off a nationwide revolt against all the criminals in Washington D.C., Republicans and Democrats alike. Fortunately, it currently appears that the Senate will vote to exonerate President Trump once Nancy Pelosi stops delaying and sends the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate for the impeachment trial.

HNewsWire Logo top Menu

Adding to these concerns, the Small Business in Transportation Coalition (Truckers.com) recently issued a press release warning that radical Leftist, in the aftermath of Trump being exonerated by the Senate, is expected to invoke “violent reactions” that could lead to nationwide disruptions in the deliveries of food, fuel, and medical supplies. The organization is now warning of a “super supply chain crisis” due to truckers intentionally avoiding areas of conflict as America descends into regional civil war.
