It’s Time for God’s Warriors to Do Battle…

Deuteronomy 28:7“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

Every Christian needs to know how to battle evil. God gives us detailed instructions on how to do this.

The bible speaks of King Davids mighty army in 1 Chronicles 12:8.  Some of them were Gadites who the bible describes as men of valor, men trained for battle, who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and were as swift as gazelles on the mountains.  The Lord showed me this scripture as an analogy of His end-time army.  His end-time army is called to great exploits and will march together as one.

The Lord says I am raising up an end-time Army who are strong and very courageous.  I am looking for men and women of valor.  They are those who are bold, and defiant in battle.  As you stand immovable and refuse to be intimidated, I will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; and they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven.  I am calling forth the warriors who will never retreat when the adversary comes against them because I have trained their hands for war and their fingers for battle.  To those who I place on the front lines are those who are able to stand against the warfare and to them, I will reveal the secrets from the kingdom of darkness and expose their strategies.  My warriors will recognize that it is not flesh and blood that they are battling against but of powers, principalities, rulers of darkness and wickedness in high places.  They are highly experienced and proficient in the performance of their duties and they know their mission.  They are those who understand the significance of wearing the full armor of God.  They know their rank and are submitted to their authority, therefore, they stay in the position to which they were assigned.

I am looking for those who are bold and ready to face challenges, tenacious in spiritual warfare, alert and watchful of the enemy.  They are those whose faces are like the faces of lions.  Those who see them recognize the strength and determination that they carry.  Their enemies see the tenacity inside of them, therefore they cower back in fear.  They do not become discouraged and will never compromise.  They are as fierce lions against the kingdom of darkness and they will stand immovable in the face of adversity.  They are as swift as gazelles on the mountains, mobile, active men and women, ready to fight wherever and whenever they were needed.  They will watch out for one another and be careful to avoid friendly fire.  Those who enlist in My end-time army will never have to be concerned with the wiles of the evil one because they know that I am standing with them at all times.  My end-time army emerges, I will give them the wisdom, discernment, and understanding as I reveal and My strategies for the days ahead says the Lord.

Deuteronomy 28:7   “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

1 Chronicles 12:8   “Some Gadites defected to David at his stronghold in the wilderness.  They were brave warriors, ready for battle and able to handle the shield and spear.  Their faces were the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles in the mountains.”

Psalm 144:1   “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.”

2 Timothy 2:4   “No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” Source

From the beginning of time, the key to the unfolding of God’s plan for humankind has been prophetic voices — that is, women and men willing to speak God’s truth, as unsettling and painful as that truth may be. Biblical prophets and modern-day prophets alike have not been fortune tellers with crystal balls and Ouija boards, but messengers with a word from on High that calls people to accountability and challenges them to change their ways and return to the source of their very being and hope.

One such prophet was a man named Elijah, about whom we read in the Hebrew Scriptures (1 Kings and 2 Kings). Called by God to challenge the Israelites to return to the One who had delivered them from captivity and brought them to a land flowing with milk and honey, right out of the gate Elijah was bold and gutsy. He dared to challenge the priests of Baal and dared to stand up to wicked King Ahab and his scheming wife Jezebel — that is until he got word that Jezebel was determined to have him killed. Then fear got the best of Elijah and he fled for his life, finally seeking refuge under a solitary broom tree. There, depressed and full of despair, he cried out to God. Physically and emotionally exhausted, angry and discouraged, Elijah had had enough.

That is when an angel of the Lord showed up to minister to Elijah, offering him food, as well as words of encouragement and challenge, which enabled him to get up and go again. Upon reaching Horeb, and still feeling sorry for himself, Elijah’s initial inclination was to hide in a cave rather climb the mountain and listen for God . . . but God can be pretty compelling, and when God instructed Elijah to step out of the darkness into the light and watch for the Almighty to pass by, Elijah did what he was told! God did indeed pass by that day, but not in the way Elijah or most of us would expect. There were mighty winds, an earth-shaking quake, and an all-consuming fire, but God was not present in any of these powerful displays of force. Instead, God showed up in the sheer silence, in a gentle and quiet whisper, a still small voice, and that encounter enabled Elijah to return to the people God had called him to serve, to do the work God had called him to do.

While those who dare to be God’s messengers come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life, what they share in common is the knowledge that doing God’s work comes with a cost. Being prophetic — living our faith — is not for the faint of heart. Key to not losing our way is making time to listen to God, making time to worship God, and making time to seek God’s guidance in prayer. When, like Elijah, we feel ourselves slipping into dark and depressing places and are ready to throw in the towel and quit, that is when we need to step out into the light and allow God to touch us, to speak to us in the silence, and to feed us using angels of whom we may be totally unaware.

This work to which we have been called as people of faith is holy work — scary at times and often overwhelming. Courage is needed, but lest we think that courage is beyond our reach, we are reminded that courage is not the absence of fear but rather the belief that there is something bigger and more important than our fear. Another way to think of courage is as “fear that has said its prayers.” What is also important to keep in mind is that we never do this holy work alone. God is, and always will be, the source of our strength. We are simply the earthenware jars that hold the treasure — a treasure to be shared with courage, compassion, and love, every chance we get. please understand that we are not saved because we pray a prayer, but because we BELIEVE upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is certainly appropriate to ask the Lord in prayer to forgive and save us, but it is our faith which prompts us to pray. You could just as easily believe in your heart upon the Lord to be saved, and not pray at all. Salvation is of the heart, as we read in Romans 10:10, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness…”
