Been Fulfilled? A lot That’s for Sure…

The Bible predicts many events that will take place in the last days. Have any of these prophecies been fulfilled?

First, it is clear that the New Testament writers considered that they were already living in the “last days.” Second Peter 3:2-3 says, “You should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.” The writer believed this prediction was already coming true in his own time.

Fauci and Dr. Birx have basically said we would rather commit economic suicide than have the freedom and let people govern themselves and take the risk of freedom. It’s past time for them to exit the stage.

The Bible gives several characteristics of scorners and warns us to avoid them and beware lest we become like them. Here are some biblical descriptions of scorners:

• Scorners may seek wisdom but cannot find it. One reason they cannot find wisdom is that they are already convinced of their own opinion. We cannot grow wise if we won’t learn from the wise (Proverbs 14:6).
• Scorners refuse to learn from rebukes or mistakes. They keep doing the same dumb things over and over again (Proverbs 13:1).
• Scorners are the source of strife and contention. When we get rid of the scornful, we have peace (Proverbs 22:10).
• Scorner’s recent correction. They cause trouble for those who try to show them the truth (Proverbs 9:7; 15:12).
• Scorners are arrogant and haughty (Proverbs 21:24), which keeps them at odds with God because He “resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).
• Scorners don’t benefit from severe consequences, but others can learn from watching their downfall (Proverbs 19:25).

The Bible tells of a greater source of truth than human reasoning. The Left can’t handle that.

Barack Obama of deliberately distorting the Bible and taking a “fruitcake interpretation” of the U.S. Constitution. In comments aired on his radio show, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson criticized the Democratic presidential nominee for comments he made in a June 2006 speech to the liberal Christian group Call to Renewal. In the speech, Obama suggested that it would be impractical to govern based solely on the word of the Bible, noting that some passages suggest slavery is permissible and eating shellfish is disgraceful. “Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy?” Obama asked in the speech.

In addition, Hebrews 1:2 says, “In these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” The coming of Jesus appears to be the starting point of what the biblical writers considered the last days.

Third, the apostle Paul noted, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people” (2 Timothy 3:1-5). The fact that Paul told Timothy to “avoid such people” clearly notes he thought these “last days” were already in progress.

Fourth, in Acts 2:17, Peter quotes the prophet Joel, saying, “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh.” Peter taught that the Day of Pentecost was a fulfillment of this prophecy.

At least in these passages, some aspects of end-times prophecy have been fulfilled. In addition, many view the establishment of the modern state of Israel in 1948 as a sign of the end times. Why? The Bible often speaks of the role of Israel in the end times, yet it did not exist as a nation for 1,900 years. In 1948, the re-establishment of modern Israel opened a way for many end-times prophecies about Israel to be literally fulfilled.

The Bible also predicts a future global government that will exist during the tribulation period. The prophecies described in Daniel 7:20 and Revelation 13:1 each point to a revived Roman Empire that closely resembles today’s European Union. Though not a clear fulfillment, it certainly connects with this aspect of end-times prophecy.

Other details of end-times prophecy are often debated regarding fulfillment or degree of fulfillment. Not every prediction is clear at this time. However, it is clear that since the time of the apostles, the New Testament describes Christians as living in the last days and the difficulties that will be included. Believers are urged to live holy lives, to make disciples, and to look with anticipation toward the future coming of Christ.

Bible prophecy predicts that there will be several significant events signaling the End of the Age. These seminal events will occur just prior to the beginning of a period called Daniel’s 70th Week, and they will serve to alert everyone that the final days have come upon the world…

Daniel’s prophecy of the 70 Weeks is an incredible prediction of the Lord’s future dealings with the nation of Israel. The angel Gabriel gave this prophecy to Daniel over 2,500 years ago (Dan. 9:24-27). The word translated “week” in this prophecy is actually the Hebrew word “shabua”, which means a period of 7 days or 7 years. In the context of this prophecy, it means 7 years; thus, according to Daniel, there are 70×7 or 490 years that encompass the entire prophecy. The last 7 year period, called Daniel’s 70th Week, was separated from the prior 69 Weeks due to the rejection of Jesus by the Jews after He revealed himself as the Messiah (see Calculating the Time of Messiah). The 70th Week is predicted to begin in the Last Days with the rise of a global government under the Antichrist and end in the fiery destruction of this world in the Great Tribulation and the Battle of Armageddon.

The world is in big trouble. For those that believe we will go back to some sense of normal life here on earth, guess again. You will be sadly disappointed by the upcoming seven-and-a-half years of Hell on Earth which began January 1, 2020.
