Accomplished We Are Delivered From Sin to Righteousness. and From Wrath to Peace With God…

Salvation is first and foremost from death to life. Eternal life. And when this is accomplished we are delivered from sin to righteousness. And from wrath to peace with God. Salvation is therefore primarily deliverance from mortality to immortality. A feat that Jesus accomplished first for Himself, and then for us by the cross. For it was by the cross and His subsequent resurrection that he first had His flesh changed from mortal to immortal.  From corruptible to incorruptible. So that we too could have our flesh changed to be immortal like His.

Yes, His flesh was changed just like ours must be. A change Paul said will also happen for all who will trust in Jesus as Lord and savior when we acknowledge Him as Thomas did saying, “My Lord and my God”. And as Jesus said to the Father, “nevertheless not my will but thy will be done”. This is how in conquering death He and He alone has made the way through what for us was an insurmountable wall that kept mortal man from having eternal life. The wall of death that the tree of life kept at bay for Adam as long as he remained in the garden.

But, it was never God’s plan for man to remain in the garden a mortal being of flesh and blood that could never have real fellowship with Him. Peter says this plainly in 1Peter1:20 when he wrote of Jesus saying, “Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you”.

1 Peter 1:20 KJV - Who verily was foreordained before the ...

So it is not because we are bad and need to be made good that we need Jesus for eternal life. But, because we are mortal from the day that He made Adam and need to be made immortal. This is the issue. Not some “naughty or nice” Santa Claus religion. But, the reality of the power of an endless life that has made it possible for us to have eternal life as Heb.7:16 so beautifully puts it. This is why in John6:68,69 Peter answered Jesus correctly when Jesus asked them if they would also leave Him. He said, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Paul says in 1Cor.15:45-50 that we are born into this world as mortal men just as Adam was when he was made. And that even though Jesus’ flesh was fully human just like we are according to Heb.2:14-18, and like ours His was also tempted according to Heb.4:15, Jesus was not only flesh and blood. He was also spiritual.

We know Jesus was spiritual because John1 says He was God. And John4:24 says God is a Spirit. Ergo Jesus was also a Spiritual being because He was and is God. Paul shows us in 1Cor.15:46 that the difference between Jesus and the rest of mankind was that as well as being a natural fleshly man, He was also a spiritual being. And that man could also be made spiritual beings is something 1Peter1:20 says God intended for every man since before He made the worlds.

But, Jesus’ flesh and blood could not inherit the kingdom of God any more than any man could because the flesh and blood He came in was the same as ours. This is why Phil.2:8 says “And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Mortal under death’s power. Because His earthly body was only made for this natural world. A world which is under death’s power since access to the tree of life was cut off in Gen.3.

Phil:2:8 Even Jesus HUMBLED himself and became obedient ...

This is why Jesus came. To make immortality possible for all men by destroying him who had the power of death. The devil. To break the power that held men in their mortality so that they could never inherit God’s kingdom. And because He conquered death by the resurrection men no longer need to fear death. This is why in John10:10 Jesus said He came to give life abundantly. This abundant life is offered because of the love that John3:16 says God has for the whole world.

John also taught in 1John4:18 that perfect love casts out the fear that has to do with torment that satan deceives men with. So it was God’s perfect love that raised Jesus from the dead. And is what delivers men from being only mortal to immortality. It changes us from the inside out as we begin to know who God really is, and that it is because God IS love that He loves us so much that He came as a man to join with man in our death. So that by His resurrection conquering death for us. We could join with Him in His eternal life.

So it is when we trust in Him and His love for us that we are born of the Spirit. It is at this point that by following Jesus’ instructions in John3:1-8 that we receive a spirit that we never had before and are born again. We are born of God as John says in 1John3:9. First of the water which is the flesh birth from our mother’s womb. And then of the Spirit by trusting in Jesus as Lord and in His resurrection.

And Rom.8 says this spirit is the first fruits and our assurance of immortality both spiritually and physically. Because it is this new spirit that is able to give life to the new body we receive at the resurrection.

This is what Paul said in Rom.8:10,11 when he wrote, “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Romans 8:10-11 MESSAGE Illustrated: "As Surely as He Did ...

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

This new spiritual life is eternally infused into the new body making it impermeable to death’s effects. Because the spirit that is born in us with the Holy Spirit is what Jesus said “gives life” to our new body. And that the old body, the flesh, profits nothing. Because it is dead by way of the circumstances Adam’s sin placed us in by men no longer having access to the tree of life. Something that God said in Gen.3:22 happened because “The man has become as one of us to know good and evil”.

But, those who have not trusted in Jesus have not received the spirit birth. So they remain only flesh and blood and do not have a spirit to give life to their resurrected bodies. This is why in John5:29 Jesus called the unbeliever’s resurrection a “resurrection of damnation.” Because their new bodies, the mansions Jesus spoke of in John14:2,3 that He said He is preparing for all men so that we can all be with Him, having no spirit in them to give them life are not made impermeable to death’s effects. So their new body that was intended for heaven will continue under the effects of death in the place that Rev.20:14 says death is cast into.

They will continue to have the pain and sorrow that their old bodies had. But, more importantly because they remain only flesh and blood they will not be able to inherit the kingdom of God. This is because they trusted in a false god. And all men after this life go with the god/God they chose, and hell was made for the false gods. This is why they will go into the lake of fire. They actually chose it.

But, I want to emphasize that this was never God’s plan for man. Jesus said that the lake of fire was made only for the devil and the angels that went with him in the rebellion. So the only reason people go to the lake of fire is because a man goes with the god/God he has believed and trusted in by his own free will. Immortality and Heaven will be his if he has trusted in the true God. But, the lake of fire if he has rejected the gift of immortality Jesus’ death on the cross made available to all who will trust in Him. Because he is not equipped with the spirit that gives life to his new body and makes him a child of God and therefore eligible for His inheritance.

Why would anyone reject such a gift? Jesus said that there are several things that cause men to reject His gift of love. The deceitfulness of riches. The lust for other things. The cares of this life. They choose what the false god offers them rather than the immortality and life that the true God gives freely to those who will ask for it.

Have these things been what is causing you to reject Jesus’ gift of love? Can you see how these things are just empty promises that can not replace God’s gift? Will you trust in Jesus now so that you too can have the immortality that God made you for? So that you and God can have the loving and intimate relationship that He created all men for? If you will then please pray with me now so that you will inherit the kingdom of God Jesus’ death and resurrection won for you.

Why Do We Pray In Jesus Name, Amen? - JR. Forasteros

Dear Jesus, I trust in you today as my Lord and savior. Thank you for joining with me in my death so that I can join with you in your life. Thank you for your gift of eternal life. Thank you for giving me your love that casts out all fear. Thank you for taking away the fear of death. And replacing it with the promise that I will live with you forever in your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed with me then welcome to God’s eternal family. Now read the Bible and believe what it plainly says so that you can come to know God and His love in a greater and greater way. And I will see you there or in the air!

I have led people to pray a sinner’s prayer to be saved. Although this is not wrong to do, it is an extra step that the Bible does NOT require, which may confuse some people. You don’t have to “ask” Jesus to save you, because God has already promised “TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE” (1st Corinthians 1:21). We read in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life”. The way to be saved is to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL!!!
