King Trump speaks!
Donald Trump calls anyone who calls artificial intelligence by a different name an enemy of the people!
Yes, you read correctly. The US president today threatened all Americans who oppose him by calling AI AI.
Trump on Truth Social:
“The White House considers anyone who uses ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ instead of the widely accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY!”
Business Insider says this is a threat, and I agree. Government threats against citizens who utilize speech it doesn’t like are illegal.
The Business Insider writes:
According to Trump, the White House may punish corporations or individuals that don’t follow its preferred speech, which would be a textbook First Amendment infringement.
Even if this directive is not “enforced,” it is unethical since it chills speech. In fear of government repercussions, organizations and individuals will use the term “Super Intelligence” without planning to.
This may be Trump’s power test. It will be interesting to see how many people and corporations yield to Trump and use his rebranded AI term. I won’t.
Americans now have a tyrant in the White House, whether they realize it or not. At least he wants to be a tyrant. When he threatens violence to force people to wear his branding, he claims kingly powers, not presidential ones.
If you keep using “artificial intelligence,” would he send the FBI to your house?
He called protesters “enemies.” That word is strong. Communist and fascist governments arbitrarily label political opponents “enemies of the people” or “enemies of the state.”
A constitutional republic cannot tolerate such statements from a leading politician.
For years, I have argued that America is no longer a constitutional republic because Congress passed legislation giving the government broad new powers to invade our privacy, spy on us, search us, and do whatever it wants in the name of “national security.”
However, our president is not even citing “national security” to threaten violence against Americans exercising their God-given right to free expression.
In the same line, the White House has started another odd free speech-stifling effort. It launched a new “Federal Task Force to Combat Antisemitism” yesterday, October 7, and will dispatch the U.S. Department of Justice on a statewide tour to combat it.
Antisemitism, like racism, is hate speech. Hatred of any ethnicity or religion is bad. Hatred, a human emotion related to rage, will kill your soul.
However, controlled rage is normal. Absolutely legal!
Our Founding Fathers realized that enabling individuals to vent against whomever they loathe helps keep the peace. That indicates a free and healthy society.
When you stifle free speech, people may resort to violence.
No government should restrict the free expression of normal human emotions. Yes, these feelings might be misdirected, but nasty words are usually obvious. They appear foolish. None want their example. By repressing free expression, no matter how unpopular or repugnant, you create martyrs who others will follow.
White House writes in October 7 press release establishing new federal task force:
The Task Force’s national effort shows the Trump Administration’s dedication to ending antisemitism nationwide. The Department of Justice enforces civil rights legislation, fulfilling the President’s mission.
First-ever governmental program, the Tour brings government resources and authorities to hate and discrimination-stricken neighborhoods.
“President Trump has made clear that this Administration will not tolerate antisemitism, and the Department of Justice is committed to implementing that directive,” said Attorney General Todd Blanche. This national tour is crucial to reassuring communities that the federal government will engage with them to combat antisemitism, preserve public safety, and uphold civil rights.
The emperor boasts of this “first-of-its-kind initiative.” I promise it won’t be the last. If the Democrats win, they will announce a new government task force to search the country for “Islamophobia” and “transphobia.”
Both benefit from what’s excellent. President Trump is dividing the nation. Republicans who think it’s cool to employ state authority to “combat antisemitism,” whatever that means, will be speechless when Democrats send goon squads against conservatives.
The legal, political, and constitutional consequences of a president making such egregious claims to raw power are worrisome.
He believes he can force us to use a rebranded term for artificial intelligence and not express hateful thoughts toward one ethnic minority (since there’s no federal task force hunting for those haters).
The spiritual ramifications of Trump’s statement, especially regarding AI, may be more troubling.
He seems to be saying, “This technology is my god, and I demand that you worship it.” You must stop calling it artificial or you will be penalized!
