Locusts Will be the Next Plague to Hit China…

Pestilence: China’s Latest COVID Outbreak Spreads To 2 New Cities Including Home Of World’s Largest Port — Death Will Be Widespread In China

China is now dealing with three serious outbreaks as the eastern port city of Ningbo reported 16 cases over the weekend, while the city of Yuzhou, a smaller city with 1.3M residents, has seen some of its neighborhoods placed on lockdown.

Fortunately for China’s economy, the Ningbo Zhoushan Port, the largest port in the world, said in a statement published on Weibo late Sunday that its operations are basically stable despite the strict COVID controls to try and contain the outbreak. Of the 16 cases, authorities said nine were imported and seven were local.

According to a statement posted by Yuzhou’s city government to its Weibo account, a lockdown has been imposed upon the downtown district, even though the city reported just 3 cases on Monday. Public transit, taxis and school have all been suspended in the district.

Fortunately for the Chinese economy, the numbers in Ningbo are much smaller than the number of new cases still being reported in Xi’an, which is in the middle of a mass lockdown, leaving many in the city of 13M without easy access to essentials like food and medicine.

As the virus continues to spread, the Ningbo Containerized Freight Index has just reached an all-time record high of $4,264/FEU at a time when shipping costs around the world have surged.

The port city has already undergone 3 partial lockdowns in the past 6 months, according to China’s state-controlled press. Meanwhile, some 200 pilots have been put into quarantine over the past week after two pilots tested positive for the virus.

It’s fair to assume the world is curious about the conditions inside Xi’an, as critics of China pointed out on Twitter that there are no “citizen journalists” in Xi’an reporting on the latest lockdown. That’s unlike the situation in Wuhan, which was covered by several citizen journalists. However, most of these people were disappeared or otherwise disciplined by Chinese authorities, setting a pretty clear example for anybody else who might want to try it.

Still, even China’s state-controlled press has acknowledged that people in the city had been struggling to buy food. It’s unclear whether this situation has eased.

Beijing must contain the situation in Ningbo: freezing the port would have broad-based ramifications for the entire Chinese economy, and the global economy more broadly.

As we noted the other day, traders have already started freaking out about the prospect of supply chain-crippling shutdowns in China, even as companies with large factories in Xi’an have insisted the lockdowns aren’t having a big impact on production. But as a reminder, the last time China’s megaports of Yantian or Ningbo were closed, supply chains collapsed, shipping rates went astronomical after a modest lag.

China finished off 2021 last week by reporting the most new cases since the end of the lockdown in Wuhan, and overall, the number of new cases has been nearing 200/day since the start of the New Year. Source: ZeroHedge

Pestilence Has Arrived: Evidence is Emerging to Suggest That The Covid Variant Poses a Very Real Threat To Patients Who Have Already Been Fully Vaccinated (Pestilence By Way Of Vaccine Kill Shot)

This is a prediction of political intrigue between two powers referred to as the “king of the North” and the “king of the South.” The names are references to their geographic location in relation to the land of Judah. Remember that Daniel was a prince from Jerusalem, and God’s people of Israel are the center of prophecy. So the two powers historically came and in the future will come from regions of the globe that are to the north and south of Jerusalem. It doesn’t necessarily mean from extremely southern or northern regions.

The prophecy was given to Daniel in the third year of King Cyrus of Persia (Daniel 10:1). A “man,” no doubt an angel (Daniel 10:5, compare Daniel 9:21), came to tell Daniel what would occur “in the latter days.”

The prophecy that follows is the most detailed in all the Bible. The third year of Cyrus was more than 500 years before the birth of Christ. Yet this prophecy foretells events that began to occur almost immediately at that time and will continue until the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Bubonic Plague: Third Case of Plague in China as Panic Begins, “Does It Reach the Level of a Biblical Plague?”

There are several words translated as “plague” in different versions, including loimos (λοιμός), and plege’ (πληγή). Plege’ is the most common word for plague in the New Testament. Though not always to be understood as God’s judgment upon a group of people, the terms sometimes describe one. For example, Jesus used loimos when he said of Jerusalem, “There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences” (Luke 21:11). Or in Revelation 15:1 (ESV), the author used plege’ when he wrote: “Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels, with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.”

Health authorities in China’s Inner Mongolia have confirmed that a third instance of the plague has been reported after two people contracted it in Beijing earlier this month. The health commission said in a statement that a 55-year old man had contracted bubonic plague after eating a wild rabbit during a hunting trip. The man was subsequently quarantined after the diagnosis, along with 28 people who he came into contact with.

However, the other 28 people have showed no signs or symptoms of the plague.

The other two contractors caught pneumonic plague, with the difference being bubonic effects the lymph nodes whereas pneumonic effects the lungs.

Fan Mengguang, deputy director of Inner Mongolia’s disease prevention and control center, told the media that the latest case is “isolated and unrelated” to the cases in Beijing.

However, with three confirmed diagnoses, the public is beginning to panic over a potential outbreak.

The plague wiped out half of Europe in the 14th century (Image: GETTY)

According to AFP, one user on Weibo, which is essentially China’s version of Twitter, posted: “I just want to know how these two came to Beijing?? By train, airplane, or did they drive themselves?”

Another reportedly said: ”Bird flu in the year of the rooster… swine fever in the year of the pig. Next year is the year of the rat…the plague is coming.”

The pneumonic plague is just one of three diseases caused by the Yersinia pestis bacterium.

Pneumonic plague is known for its effects on the respiratory system, as it causes dangerous lung infections.

There are several times we see judgments from God in the form of plagues in the Bible. This is not an exhaustive list, but it should help provide a framework for when plagues are discussed in Scripture.

  • God sent ten plagues upon the Egyptians before the Israelites left Egypt. These plagues include the plague of blood, the plague of frogs, the plague of lice (gnats), the plague of flies, the plague of livestock, the plague of boils, the plague of hail, the plague of locusts, the plague of darkness, and the death of the firstborn (Exodus 7:14–12:36).
  • God promised judgment if the people of Israel turned against the Lord. Part of God’s judgment included plagues (Leviticus 26:25).
  • God sent a three-day plague to wipe out 70,000 men after King David sinned by numbering the people of Israel (2 Samuel 24:10–17).
  • Amos prophesied that God would send several judgments against the nation of Israel, including plagues similar to what Egypt endured (Amos 4:10).
  • God sent several judgments against the nation of Judah, including a plague when he sent King Nebuchadnezzar to sack Jerusalem (Jeremiah 21:7, 24:10, 29:17).
  • The plagues described in the Book of Revelation including those sent by the two witnesses (Revelation 11:6) and the seven final plagues sent by God (Revelation 15:1).
Plague doctor

There are two major lessons to glean from a biblical plague. For one, a biblical plague is a part of God’s judgment against sin. Sometimes, God sent plagues or pestilences against unbelievers as when Egypt enslaved and oppressed the people of Israel. It was severe and left no room for speculation about who was responsible for the judgment. Even the ruler of Egypt knew God sent the plagues. “Then Pharaoh sent and called Moses and Aaron and said to them, ‘This time I have sinned; the LORD is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong’” (Exodus 9:27).

At other times, God sent a plague against his own people to judge their sin. God sent numerous prophets to the people of Judah, but they still did not turn from their sin. So Jeremiah reports God’s Word when he said, “Though they fast, I will not hear their cry, and though they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence” (Jeremiah 14:12).

Yersinia pestis also causes bubonic plague – otherwise known as the ‘black death – which affects lymph nodes, and septicemic plague, which affects the blood.

Of the three plague variants, pneumonic is the most virulent and is fatal if left untreated.

In the 14th century the Black Death spread across the Mediterranean and Europe, killing up to 60 percent of Europe’s total population.

More than 100 million people may have perished – reducing the world population from an estimated 450 million down to 350–375 million.

Bubonic Plague fears: How Black Death infection ‘was prophesied in Bible’

THE BIBLE may have prophesied the outbreak of the Bubonic Plague after China confirmed one case in the northern province of Inner Mongolia, leading authorities to place the city of Bayan Nur under a level three warning for epidemic control.

The plague is caused by bacteria called Yersinia pestis that live in some animals – mainly rodents – and their fleas and is most famous for being the cause of the Black Death, which wiped out up to 200 million people more than 650 years ago. Those infected develop flu-like symptoms, including fever, vomiting, bleeding, organ failure, and open sores and if not treated immediately with antibiotics, the bacteria can spread in the bloodstream and cause sepsis and if the bacteria infect the lungs, it can cause pneumonia. It has been associated with three deadly outbreaks in the history of mankind, but the first warning of this devastating illness may have come in the Bible, according to researchers.

In chapters four to six of 1 Samuel, the Old Testament text describes how the Ark of the Covenant was captured by the Philistines and, after God wreaked havoc on several Philistine cities, it was returned to Israel.

Having captured the Ark of the Lord from the Israelites, the Philistines experienced an outbreak of ‘tumors’ and the affliction followed them as they moved the Ark from city to city.

Concluding that the Ark was responsible for this disaster, the leaders decided to return it to the Israelites along with a peace offering of five golden rodents.

The idea that this story proves the Bubonic Plague may have been active in Biblical times was first floated by academic JP Griffin, who wrote an article in 2000 on his theory.

The Book of Samuel may have prophesied the Bubonic Plague outbreak

But academic Frank R Freemon went one step further in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine by analyzing the physical evidence.

He wrote in 2005: “Soon after the arrival of these statues, which were probably small wooden models covered with gold, in Beth-shemesh, 70 Israelites died in that city.

“Evaluating this epidemic, JP Griffin concluded that the outbreak was plague, with its associated buboes.

“But WMS Russell responded that Griffin was ‘certainly erroneous’ because of a mistranslation that the tumors were hemorrhoids due to dysentery and because the rat carrier of plague was not in the region at the time of the described events.

“Since then, advances in archaeology have shifted the weight of evidence towards Griffin and the ‘emerods’ described the King James Bible appear in all modern translations as tumours.”

BIBLE followers have warned the coronavirus outbreak was “just the start” of increasing disasters of the End Times before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, as a new virus has been identified with “pandemic potential” in China.

In the Book of Revelation, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are sent as a punishment of God, but some believe they are an analogy of real-life events to come in the future. Revelation 6 tells of a scroll in God’s right hand that is secured with seven seals, which, when opened, summons four beings that ride out on white, black, red, and pale horses to bring about death, war, famine, and plague. It states: “They were given power over a fourth of the Earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague, and by the wild beasts of the Earth.”

Disasters Rage Across China, Affecting Tens of Millions

China, still grappling with the CCP virus pandemic, has been hit with wave after wave of natural disasters across the country.

Weeks of torrential rainfall caused some of the worst floodings in decades, wreaking havoc in 26 provinces across central and southern China and disrupting the lives of more than 19 million, according to authorities.

In recent weeks, hailstorms and earthquakes also struck parts of the country. Swarming locusts and animal-borne diseases were but the latest of the country’s woes.

Close to 50 million Chinese have suffered from some form of natural catastrophe in the first half of 2020, according to China’s emergency management authorities. Official tallies stated that the disasters have left 271 missing or dead, and 914,000 people urgently evacuated, but the true numbers are likely far higher, given authorities’ tendency to cover up information.

‘Come to See the Ocean’

Almost daily rainfall across large swathes of China since June has caused around 300 rivers to exceed warning levels and prompted dozens of cities to send emergency alerts. Citizens have recounted houses and cars being washed away in the stormwater.

Hubei, a central Chinese province whose capital Wuhan was ground zero of the virus outbreak, was particularly hard-hit by the downpours. The unprecedented rainfall has paralyzed hundreds of roads, overwhelmed five major lakes in the region, and caused nearly 1,100 reservoirs to overflow, according to local authorities.

“Come to see the ocean in Wuhan,” one local said in a video showing knee-high water on the road.

In Shanghai, a trio of rains, angry winds, and roaring thunder shook residents wide awake early on July 6. The accumulated rainwater on the rooftop of a shopping mall began to spill over, while gushing water burst out of a manhole cover, according to accounts from locals and videos shared online. In the megacity Chongqing in southwestern China, muddy water ran through the third-floor window of a residential building, forming an artificial waterfall.

If the trend continues, locals and experts worry that the Three Gorges Dam, one of the world’s largest, may burst under aggravating water pressure, putting hundreds of millions who live along the Yangtze River at risk.Read MoreChina’s Largest Dam Draws Scrutiny for Structural Flaws as Flooding Ravages Country

Severe flooding in a county in the eastern province of Anhui has caused the national college entrance exam—already postponed for a month due to the virus—to be further delayed, after only a quarter of the 2,000 registered students managed to show up, some of them on boats.

“Our home could be in danger any time,” said Ms. Deng, a resident from Huangshan city, a mountainous tourist attraction in Anhui. Afraid that floodwaters could pour into her house, she has been unable to sleep at night, she told The Epoch Times. Local floodwaters caused a road to the tourist site to collapse and crushed a tunnel underneath, creating a gaping hole of more than seven meters (23 feet).

Huang said she is closely watching the drainage holes for any signs of water. “The rain is too mighty, if you lose attention for even just ten minutes, the house will be drowned,” she said, noting that more rain is forecasted for the coming days.

Other Crises

Swarms of locusts have eliminated crops in multiple agricultural provinces since June—some of which were already battered by flooding.

In Quanzhou, a southern agricultural county in flood-hit city of Guilin, 10 days of locust invasions have emptied out corn and grain fields, orange trees, and willow trees planted along river banks to prevent flooding, according to villagers.

“Even the leaves were not spared,” Mr. Zhao, a local farmer, told The Epoch Times. In early June, a locust invasion in Hunan Province caused residents to hide at home and shut their windows tight, as the insects swarmed their courtyards.

While China’s top agricultural expert Yuan Longping has denied the possibility of a food crisis, critics and locals have raised such concerns due to the recent disasters. Officials from Chengdu city in Sichuan have issued a notice encouraging villagers to convert fruit orchards into rice paddies, suggesting a food shortage.

Meanwhile, the African swine fever, which first broke out among China’s hog population in August 2018, has again emerged in nine Chinese provinces, including Hubei, Yunnan, and Jiangsu. According to a June 29 study published in the U.S.-based “Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences” journal, Chinese researchers also identified a swine flu virus named G4, which can spread among humans. The virus evolved from the H1N1 strain, which caused a global flu pandemic in 2009, and has been detected in over 30,000 hogs in 10 provinces in recent years.

Authorities in Inner Mongolia have issued a warning after a person was hospitalized, and suspected of contracting the bubonic plague, the cause for the Black Death pandemic more than 670 years ago.

A city in southwestern Guizhou Province, which also recorded heavy rainfall, experienced two small-scale earthquakes on July 2, while northern cities including Beijing and Baoding in neighboring Hebei Province saw hailstones carpeting the ground on July 1 and 5. And in late June, a hailstorm in Beijing continued for seven hours, sending down hail the size of eggs that resembled the shape of a virus.
