WE INHERIT A SPIRITUAL KINGDOM THE NATURAL MAN WAS NEVER MADE FOR

Jesus told Nicodemus “marvel not that I said ye must be born again”. Believe it or not, this is the answer to what happens when we die. Because only by new birth, a spiritual birth, is man-made ready to inhabit the kingdom of God. Because the kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom, not a natural one inhabited by natural beings like the one we live in now. So only what is spiritual can live there. 

All men and the natural world men live in are natural, not spiritual. For the Biblical evidence of this one need only to look at Gen.1:26,2:7,7:13,14,21,22, 1Cor.2:14, 15:45-50 to see the Bible plainly teaches this. And since Adam was sent from the garden all of the natural worlds including mankind are under death’s power. They deteriorate. They corrupt which means to decay. They die. And since they die a savior is needed to change that.1Cor.15:50-58. 

But, while death’s reign is one aspect that reveals why men need a savior, it is not the only reason. Or even the original reason. Because even if Adam would have stayed in the garden never having eaten the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, all the while being fruitful and multiplying as God said, he and his progeny could never have gone to heaven. Because all that Adam ever was when God made him was “natural, not spiritual”, “flesh and blood”, “of the earth earthy”, “a living soul”, “of the dust”. He was not made a spiritual being when God made him. Gen.3:19 and 1Cor.15:45-50. 

And because he was natural and not spiritual heaven was never going to be available to him as long as he stayed in the garden. Because he was made only for living in a natural world, not a spiritual one. This is why only by being made spiritual so that he could live in a spiritual kingdom could he inherit the kingdom of God as Paul said- “Flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God”. 1Cor.15:50. So Adam’s being natural and not spiritual is the original reason that man needed a savior. To which Peter gives confirmation saying, “Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you”.

After he ate the fruit we see the other aspect concerning man’s need for Jesus which is death, which Paul says passed to him and all men. He said “death reigned”. Paul knew this because he knew Gen.3:22 where God said this would happen when Adam and the rest of mankind were no longer allowed to eat from the tree of life. God said He did because Adam became “as one of us to know good and evil”. This shows that even when they could eat from the tree of life the only power the tree ever had was to keep the natural body and the natural world alive. This shows that there was never anything in it that could affect the spiritual. 

So the main reason men need Jesus is that Jesus is the “life-giving spirit”(1Cor.15:45). This means Jesus gives the spiritual life that the tree of life in the garden was never meant to or able to give. And since only spiritual beings can inherit the kingdom of heaven, only spiritual beings can pass through the wall of death that has held natural men (Heb.2:14,15) and the natural world (Rom.8:22,23) under it’s the power since Adam left the garden.

This is why whether one gets to heaven or not has nothing to do with how good or how bad someone is or has been. Being made a spiritual being has nothing to do with behavior at all. It has only to do with whether one has believed in Jesus as Lord and that He has raised from the dead. Because when we confess Jesus as Lord this allows Him to birth in us a spirit so that we are equipped to live in His kingdom. And believing that He raised from the dead gives us the first fruits of His spirit, the new birth, that makes us spirit. And by this, we are prepared for our natural bodies to be redeemed by receiving the spiritual body when we too are raised from the dead. 

So when Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again He was telling him that his water/flesh birth only prepared him for this natural world. And that only by the spirit birth could he be prepared for eternal life in heaven with Him. When Jesus told him that what is born of the flesh is flesh He was telling him he could only live in this world with that body. And that since he had no access to eat from the tree of life his life on earth would only be temporary. But, when Jesus told him that what is born of the Spirit is spirit He was telling him that the new birth is needed to live in the next world that only spirits live in after physical death. Spirits that inhabit an eternal, immortal, incorruptible, spiritual body. 

Have you believed in Jesus? Have you been born of the Spirit so you too can inherit eternal life? If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is eternal life.John17:3. So if you do not know Him please take the time right now to pray and confess Jesus as Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead. If you do believe in Him then pray something like this and you will be saved: Dear Jesus, I believe you. Thank you for joining with me in death so that by conquering death by your resurrection I could join with you in life. Thank you that you raised from the dead so that I could raise from the dead too by trusting in, clinging to, and relying solely on you. Please give me a new spirit now Lord so that I can live with you in heaven forever. In Jesus’ name, amen. 

By praying a prayer similar to this one and really meaning it from your heart you will be saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God as you now begin reading the Bible and believing what it plainly says. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only able to relate to and trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped for heaven because you are no longer only natural flesh and blood, but are made a spiritual being ready to inherit God’s spiritual kingdom called heaven. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection because He is the life-giving spirit that makes Him alone the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE.
