You Are What You Eat! Do You Really Know From Whose Table You Are Eating?

Like Daniel and his friends that would not eat the food, the Babylonian king offered them, so if we are truly saved knowing Jesus Christ, we should refuse to eat the food of the Babylonian king today. We must be doing as Jesus told the Israelites and work while it is a day for the night is coming when no man can work. 

What? You might be saying. How can we eat of the Babylonian king’s food? There is no king like that today! Oh, but there is. And so many eat from his table that those who call themselves the church are unrecognizable as the group of people that received the faith once delivered to the saints so many centuries ago. The great falling away is happening right in front of us and most not only do not see it. But, most think the falling away is actually adherence to orthodoxy through which will come some kind of great revival. 

The food that so many that call themselves Christian eat of are the doctrines, that much like the food of the Babylonian king in Daniel’s day, are meant to lead us to trust in a false god. And should have been rejected long ago when it was first introduced and codified to the so-called church through the teachings of Augustine. But, because it is packaged and advertised with the skin of the truth as the serpent’s words were to Adam and Eve, most don’t see the great big lie hidden inside. 

Here are a few quotes from the food of the Babylonian king. See if you agree or disagree with these words,

“We may rest assured that God would never have suffered any infants to be slain except those who were already damned and predestined for eternal death.” Or “There are babies a span long in hell.”

Or how about this,

“Free choice of the will was present in that man who was the first to be formed. But after he sinned by that free will, we who have descended from his progeny have been plunged into a necessity.” Or “If any man says that new-born children… have in them no original sin inherited from Adam which must be washed away in the bath of regeneration, so that in their ease the formula of baptism ‘for the remission of sins’  must not be taken literally, but figuratively, let him be anathema; because, according to Romans 5:12, the sin of Adam (in quo omnes peccaverunt) has passed upon all.”

Or how about this one,

“But original sin enters into us; we do not commit it, but we suffer it. We are sinners because we are the sons of a sinner. A sinner can beget only a sinner, who is like him.”

If you agree with any of these then you are eating from the table of the Babylonian king. And if you continue eating from it the day will come when you will stand before God with nothing to say in the answer for your unbelief because you heard the truth of the word of God as all men do before they meet Him face to face and turned from it only to continue eating from the table of “dainty meats” that only satisfy the flesh. While able to do nothing for the spiritual man that could have been born in you to prepare you for the inheritance of the eternal spiritual kingdom of Almighty God. If you had only listened to, and eaten from the table of, and fallen in love with the Jesus of the Bible. 

It is at the heart of Augustinian theology, which is really just doctrines of demons, that we find these notions that horribly mangle the word of God. Notions that derived from his past training and his own lack of self-control, and not from the plain teaching in the Bible. His dilemma was that he just couldn’t seem to be able to stop sinning. So he speculated that it was impossible for anyone to stop. His intellectual abilities, he could not “keep his body under” as Paul says those who are born of the Spirit do in 1Cor.9:27. His ideas of human depravity, ideas that Augustine’s students Martin Luther and John Calvin brought to Protestantism as well, were based on the pagan philosophies of the Manicheans he had been earlier taught, and on the memories of his sordid past. His letters called ‘Confessions’ constitutes one of the most remarkable psychological disclosures in all literature. In careful detail, he vividly recalls the miserable life so that his readers could consider all that impurity, that they themselves might be able to better absorb his seemingly “wonderful theological truths”. Which were no truths at all. But, were doctrines of demons. 

Augustine decided quite apart from what the Bible plainly teaches in Gen.3:22 that man “fell” when Adam sinned. And that when he fell, he fell into a what Augustine called called “original sin.” This is full sin and full guilt. And it is, according to Augustine, passed on from parent to child so that as soon as the child is born it has that full sin and full guilt within it. The error of Augustine’s “original sin” is the error of the biological transmission of sin. It is inherited sin and inherited guilt. Augustine had a specific example of this. He believed and he taught it saying “Man cannot keep from concupiscence(sexual sin); he is doomed to indulge in it.” But, of course, we can understand why Augustine felt this way. He had the flaw of all philosophers because he spent his time thinking about his own problems instead of reading the Bible and submitting to its clear teachings, no matter what the personal sacrifice that might be involved. Because philosophers are concerned with thinking. “Christian philosophers,” or theologians, with “doing theology.” But in contrast, Christians are concerned with reading God’s Word, accepting it as it reads, communing with Him, and trusting Him. The objectives are as far different as the paths that they take. One to eternal life and the other to perdition. 

Augustine was so wrapped up in these doctrines of demons that he was not emotionally able to face the plain truth of Scripture. What is that plain truth? It is that you are not a sinner by nature, but a sinner only when that choice is made. Something is known as the age of accountability that rejects the notion that all men are conceived on their way to hell. Which if those who believe Augustine had been willing for sixteen-hundred years they would not have needed to be saddled with his error of “necessity” and “original sin.”

The quotes I gave earlier are these doctrines of demons. They are the doctrines of the so-called reformers Martin Luther and John Calvin who gained their understanding of the Bible from their mentor the pagan Augustine. Augustine who invented cheap lies, putting the blame upon sin nature/original sin he has no fault in. And every man with itching ears is glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them. And thus he will by and by convincing himself that the sin nature/original sin doctrine is just, and he will thank his god for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception.

Will you continue in the lies and the same self-deception Augustine was in that keep men from knowing that we can only be sinners by choice if and when we may choose to sin as Deut.1:39 plainly says, and not by nature as these false teachers have proclaimed? Will you believe the words of Jesus instead of these false teachers who believed this because of some perversion of the truth of predestination Paul taught, that this is why babies who die do not go to hell? But, instead, go to be with Jesus because Jesus told them “Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not because of such is the kingdom of God”? It is because of Jesus’ teaching then that we know that no one has ever been held responsible for the sin of Adam from conception so that they die as a result of it’s passing to them by inheritance or imputation. But, die only because no one can eat from the tree of life as God said in Gen.3:22-24. Will you be free from death to serve the living and true God by turning from the notions of sin nature and original sin and any other wrong beliefs that are nowhere found in the teachings of the apostles? 

Will you be born of His Spirit so you can inherit eternal life that Jesus came to provide for you? The fleshly birth only prepared you for this natural world where death reigns. Will you too be born again by being born of His Spirit? So that as His child you will now have for your inheritance His eternal kingdom where there is no death? 

If you are reading this God is calling you. He loves you and wants you to know Him. Because knowing Him is this eternal life that provides you with the spirit that makes you God’s child.John17:3. Because while all men are created by God, not all men are born of His Spirit so that they are children of God. It is only those who have come to know Him that is spiritual because knowing Him is to be born of His Spirit. So if you do not know Him, but have now believed that He is Lord and that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you, then please take the time right now to talk to Him and confess to Jesus that He is Lord of your life. And believe that He has raised from the dead to conquer death for you. If you do believe in Him then tell Him something like this and you will have eternal life: 

Dear Jesus, I believe you. Thank you for joining with me in death so that by conquering death by your resurrection I could join with you in eternal life. Thank you that you raised from the dead so that I could raise from the dead too by trusting in, clinging to, and relying solely on you. Thank you for giving me a new spirit now Lord so that I can live with you in your kingdom forever. In Jesus’ name, amen. 

By praying a prayer similar to this one and really meaning it from your heart you have been saved from death to life. From sin to righteousness. And from the wrath to peace with God. And now as you begin reading the Bible and believing what it plainly says it will begin to change the way you think and believe. Because when you trust in Jesus you leave the old life behind where you were only able to relate to and trust in what has been made. And now will be equipped for God’s kingdom because you are no longer only natural flesh and blood, but are a new creature made a spiritual being ready to inherit God’s spiritual kingdom. It is because of Jesus’ resurrection that He is the only WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. Because only Jesus has broken through the wall of death that the flesh and blood natural body can never get through. And only by the new birth are we made ready to receive the spiritual body that can go through the wall of death as Jesus’ did first so we could follow Him in the way He has prepared for us.
