Navy Seals Granted Religious Exemption To Mandatory COVID-19 Inoculations. What About The Rest Of Service Members?

On Feb. 28, a federal appeals court dismissed President Joe Biden’s administration’s effort to partially lift the moratorium on the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for a subset of Navy SEALs. A federal judge stopped the mandate’s implementation for 35 Navy members, many of whom are SEALs, in January, stating that the Navy created a procedure for adjudicating religious exemption applications, “but by all accounts, it is theater,” according to the judge. The Navy has given no religious exemptions at the time of the judgement. It has still not given any as of Feb. 23.
