Ottawa Police Chief In Favor Of Mandatory Vaccination Steps Down.

On Feb. 15, Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly resigned abruptly amid widespread protests in the city against federal COVID-19 directives. Sloly confirmed his resignation in a statement on social media. “I am announcing my resignation as Chief of the Ottawa Police Service with a heavy heart,” he stated. “Since the beginning of this protest, I’ve done all in my power to keep this city safe and put a stop to this unprecedented and unanticipated crisis. We’ve added additional resources and enforcement tools to our arsenal, as well as establishing the new Integrated Command Centre.
