Ottawa Police Chief In Favor Of Mandatory Vaccination Steps Down.

On Feb. 15, Ottawa police chief Peter Sloly resigned abruptly amid widespread protests in the city against federal COVID-19 directives.

Sloly confirmed his resignation in a statement on social media.

“I am announcing my resignation as Chief of the Ottawa Police Service with a heavy heart,” he stated.

“Since the beginning of this protest, I’ve done all in my power to keep this city safe and put a stop to this unprecedented and unanticipated crisis. We’ve added additional resources and enforcement tools to our arsenal, as well as establishing the new Integrated Command Centre. I am certain that the Ottawa Police Service is now in a stronger position to put an end to the occupation.”

During an Ottawa Police Services Board meeting, city councillor Diane Deans stated that the board and Sloly had “reached a mutually agreed-upon separation.”

Deans thanked Sloly for his service and stated that “this is a labor relations concern,” and that no more remarks will be made.

Deputy Chief Steve Bell of the Ottawa Police Service will serve as interim police chief until the board names a permanent replacement.

Dean stated that the board’s top objective is to put in place a plan to bring the continuing demonstration in the nation’s capital to a peaceful conclusion.

Truckers objecting to COVID-19 immunization rules for cross-border transit started the protests. Many sympathizers joined the action as convoys of truckers made their way to Ottawa, turning it into a large-scale protest against all COVID-19 regulations and restrictions.

Many demonstrators say they aim to stay until the COVID-19 directives are lifted as the protests approach their third week.

The protests have prompted the city of Ottawa, the province of Ontario, and the federal government to proclaim states of emergency.

On Feb. 15, Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino announced the establishment of an integrated command centre for the RCMP and OPP to collaborate with municipal police in the ongoing protests.

The federal government, according to Mendicino, is focused on ensuring that Ottawa police, as well as the RCMP and OPP, have all of the tools they need to “restore public order” in the city.

On Feb. 14, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau used the Emergencies Act to address the protests, giving officials more ability to remove the trucks that have been parked in the city’s central core since the end of January.

The statute also gives the government the authority to revoke citizens’ right to assemble if there is a “reasonable anticipation” that it will result in a disturbance of the peace.

Citizens may also be barred from entering or leaving certain regions, as well as from using specific property. The government can also seize control of public facilities and services and order citizens to perform necessary tasks.

The premiers of Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Quebec have all spoken out against Trudeau’s use of the Emergencies Act.

An Ottawa city council meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled for Feb. 16 to give local legislators more time to learn about the situation.

Furthermore, the city claims that the federal decision to invoke the Emergencies Act necessitates additional research and analysis in order to give the council and the public with a greater knowledge of the options now available.

As we know, Trudeau’s use of the emergencies act is a massive overreach that has been detested by various public figures in Canada. It goes without saying that if he does not walk back his hasty decision, the intensity of coming demonstrations will surely increase. As far as police chief Peter Sloly goes, it seems as though he is attempting to step down and be glorified by the left leaning communists in support of the oppression of those who chose to opt out of this mass biological experiment. On Thursday, the government of Ontario, Canada, won a court order freezing almost US$8 million in contributions sent to the Freedom Convoy through the GiveSendGo portal.

According to a statement from Premier Doug Ford’s office, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice ordered that any donations made through the Christian fundraising platform’s “Freedom Convoy 2022” and “Adopt a trucker” campaigns be frozen until further notice.

The application for the restraint order was filed by Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey, who used 490.8 of the Criminal Code as justification for freezing the cash, according to the statement.

The decree “binds any and all persons with possession or control over these donations,” according to Ivana Yelich, the premier’s spokesperson.

In an apparent response to the court decision, GiveSendGo tweeted on Twitter, “Know this!” Canada has absolutely ZERO authority over how we manage our funds here at GiveSendGo.”

“All money for EVERY campaign on GiveSendGo pass directly to the recipients of those campaigns, including The Freedom Convoy campaign,” it continues.

The Epoch Times spoke with John Carpay, president of the legal organization Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, which is assisting the Freedom Convoy organizers with legal advice.

The protest began as a protest by truckers against the federal government’s need that cross-border truck drivers get vaccinated in late January, but has since grown into a huge movement involving people from all over Canada who are opposed to various COVID-19 mandates and limitations.

On Jan. 29, vehicle convoys arrived in Ottawa, and many have remained in the city, with trucks and other vehicles parked near Parliament Hill. Various protest convoys have been organized in various locations of Canada since then.

Protesters in Ottawa have stated that they will not leave unless COVID-19 regulations are lifted.

More than $8 million had been gathered through GoFundMe before the site announced on February 4 that it would cease payments and instead send the money to charity, only to reverse course on February 5 and announce that the monies would be automatically reimbursed to donors.

Following the GoFundMe announcements, protest convoy organizers put up a GiveSendGo fundraising called “Freedom Convoy 2022.”

Several Republican lawmakers in the United States have expressed worry about GoFundMe’s withholding of donations for the trucker protest.

It goes without saying that corporations are heavily invested in their own respective political agendas. With that being said it’s no surprise that this has happened; GoFundMe has lost plenty of users due to it’s shortsighted grab of the freedom convoy’s money, and has now been identified as part of the opposing force against the fundamental human rights granted to us by God. Make no mistake, freedom loving citizens world wide will die for their freedom. The question remains, are these tyrannical globalist sell outs willing to risk their lives to carry out their agenda.
