‘Here for the Long Haul’: Convoy Protest Digs In at BC ...

A large police response late on Feb. 14 in Surrey, B.C., put an end to a demonstration that began two days earlier after local RCMP barred access to the Pacific Highway border crossing.

According to the Canada Border Services Agency, the border crossing is now open for business.

Several dozen police officers joined dozens of other policemen already on the scene and worked jointly to disperse the remaining demonstrators.

On the 12th and 13th of February, a huge number of anti-vaccine mandate activists protested outside the border crossing, which police stated was mainly peaceful except for some persons crossing police barricades and driving in the wrong direction on 176 Street.

Police have made many arrests at the protest site, although the total number of arrests has not been confirmed.

After police went in on the evening of Feb. 14, a man who arranged security for the demonstrators and businesses in the neighborhood, who did not want to be identified, said he saw about two dozen individuals arrested.

According to him, police then marched two blocks north to the camp headquarters and urged protesters and their supporters to clean up the camp and leave or face arrest and forfeiture of their belongings and supplies.

There was a tense standoff between police and demonstrators, according to some protesters.

Stacey Midgley, one of the protestors who led the daily slow rolls in the region the week before, attempted to reach an agreement to keep the standoff from becoming more violent.

Midgely told The Epoch Times that he initially had the police admit that it was the police who were blocking the border, not the demonstrators, and that if the police did the same, he would have his side back up.

“I told them,” Midgley added, “that we were only going to close two lanes and do a slow roll on Saturday.” “I said we’ll go back to 2nd Avenue if you go back to 2nd Avenue, because we have to start someplace to rebuild that trust.”

“Four people have been taken into jail for Mischief at the protests taking place near the Pacific Highway Border Crossing,” Surrey RCMP reported in a press statement on Feb. 13.

Cpl. Vanessa Munn, a media relations officer for the Surrey RCMP, confirmed the incident and arrests early on Feb. 14, saying officers were obliged to erect concrete barriers on both sides of the protest sites to prevent more vehicles from entering the area and for safety reasons.

Despite the obstacles and the considerable police presence, she indicated that police and demonstrators were having fruitful discussions about how to terminate the protest.

“We’re continuing to interact with them because we want to have this resolved as fast and safely as possible so that police and demonstrators can communicate openly,” Munn told The Epoch Times.

“If required, we will take enforcement action.” Obviously, we’re strategic in how we enforce the law, and we’re all in agreement that, at the end of the day, we want to keep everyone safe.”

“There were no confrontations between anyone that I saw.” Cops, RCMP, and us. “I saw nothing between us and them internally, just a lot of personal discussion,” he claimed.

“For the most part, the dialogue was excellent. Nonetheless, the standoff was triggered by arrests made on the front lines. You will see us as a united front if you want to start arresting individuals.”

The bottleneck at the two other local crossings for business trucks may have affected the decision to stop the border protest. On February 14, the average wait time to cross the border was five hours.

The last holdout before police forced them to go was a group of supporters with their recreational RVs who had set up camp north of the 8th Avenue police closure on the highway.

The dispersal of demonstrators at the border crossing between British Columbia and Washington state is detrimental to the movement against mandatory vaccinations. This is the first example of the people losing traction in the fight against medical tyranny. If we’re going to show up, we’d better show out. Ottawa is the perfect example that demonstrators should mimic from this point forward. They’ve refused to leave despite several arrests because they’ve acknowledged the potential consequences of not holding their ground against these tyrants. If you give them an inch, they’ll take a mile; And we cannot afford to lose ground at this point in the game. Stay inquisitive in the word of God, and the world around you.

As nationwide protests against COVID-19 limitations grow, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed Thursday that the Conservative Party is culpable since it has aided the movement.

During question period on Feb. 10, Conservative interim leader Candice Bergen claimed that key infrastructure has been hampered as a result of Trudeau’s refusal to deal effectively with the matter, and asked if he would meet with opposition leaders to find a solution.

“For the past two weeks, the Conservative Party of Canada has been encouraging and aiding these blockades across the country. Trudeau responded, “Their biggest champions have been the leader of the Conservative Party and her team.”

“The consequences of these actions are catastrophic… I hope the opposition leader maintains her current stance and continues to demand an end to the blockades.”

Bergen, who had previously been supportive of the movement, had changed her tone earlier in the day, urging the demonstrators to leave.

“I believe the time has come for you to take down the barricades, stop the disruptive action, and come together. The economy you want to see reopen is hurting,” she said, adding that her party will continue to battle to repeal COVID-19 regulations and restrictions.

A Bloc MP stated his party would support the proposal, which was debated but not voted on.

When Bergen asked Trudeau if he would support the motion, he answered that the “way through this pandemic is by listening to science, is by following public health advice, and indeed by getting vaccinated.”

Bergen retorted by questioning if Trudeau meant that limits would remain in place until all Canadians had been vaccinated.

“You know what helps lift restrictions, you know what helps move beyond lockdowns?” He said, “Vaccinations.”

Meanwhile, a trucker caravan and demonstration in Ottawa to demand an end to vaccine requirements and other restrictive policies has grown in size.

Following the obstruction of the Coutts border crossing in Alberta and the Ambassador Bridge in Windsor, automobiles and farm equipment stopped the Emerson border crossing in Manitoba on Thursday. On the 9th and 10th of February, protesters blocked vehicle lanes on Highway 402 in Sarnia.

Trudeau has truly outdone himself this time by pointing his finger back at his citizens, claiming that the problem is their yearning for medical autonomy. Perhaps citizens wouldn’t be disrupting the economy if globalist sell outs like Trudeau weren’t imposing tyrannical COVID-19 legislation on his people. The man is a public servant, and will no doubt provide the public service we demand. 37% of the worlds population is being grossly neglected by public officials who seek to aid big pharma catalyze biotechnological innovation. This agenda inherently defies the will of God, and will no doubt come with divine consequence.

We’ve got a long road ahead of us but through faith in Jesus we’re all saved. 1 Peter 4:12-14 says: “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.”Stay inquisitive in the word of God, and the world around you.
