Watchman Daily Devotional: The Courage to Fight. We Must Fight Against Our Enemies (And God’s Enemies).

daily Dev

The nature of our fight today may be different. Paul said, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Even so, there are still valuable lessons for us to learn from David’s fight against Goliath.

There are several important insights we can gain from studying David's example.

First and foremost, it is essential that we possess unwavering bravery to engage in battle, regardless of our individual identities. Paul addressed the Corinthians regarding the nature of our struggles (2 Corinthians 10:4). Engaging in the ongoing spiritual struggle is not limited to a chosen few. Everyone must be prepared to engage in battle. Age does not grant immunity. Paul encouraged Timothy, reminding him not to let anyone underestimate his youthfulness, but to instead demonstrate himself as a role model for believers (1 Timothy 4:12). Age should never be used as an excuse for neglecting one's divine calling.

Furthermore, there is no need for concern regarding our level of preparedness. Peter and John were perceived as lacking formal education and training, but they exhibited remarkable courage in spreading the message of Christ (Acts 4:12-13). We may also lack formal education and training according to worldly standards, but we are fully equipped for our battle when we don the armor that God has bestowed upon us (Ephesians 6:14-17).

Third, it is of no concern to us who our opponents may be. Paul emphasized the importance of equipping oneself with the complete armor of God in order to confidently resist the cunning tactics of the devil. In our ongoing battle, we face adversaries that are not of this physical realm. Our opponents are the rulers, powers, and world forces of darkness, as well as the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. We face formidable adversaries. However, it is important to keep in mind that Christ reigns supreme over all (Ephesians 1:20-21), and it is through Him that we will achieve triumph (Revelation 17:14).

Fourth, we must focus our efforts on opposing those who oppose the divine. Our battles are not fought on a physical level, but rather on a spiritual plane, as stated in 2 Corinthians 10:3. We strive to eliminate any unfounded beliefs and arrogant notions that oppose the understanding of God's truth (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Final Thoughts

David was filled with unwavering faith that the Lord would always be by his side. He confidently declared to Goliath, "Today, the Lord will hand you over to me, and I will defeat you and remove your head... because the victory belongs to the Lord, and He will deliver you into our hands" (1 Samuel 17:46-47). We should have unwavering faith. Despite the formidable opposition that will arise, the Lamb will emerge victorious, for He holds the title of Lord of lords and King of kings (Revelation 17:14). Therefore, let us find strength and "fight passionately for our beliefs" (Jude 3). Let us strive to persevere in our faith, so that we may partake in the ultimate triumph of the Lord.

The Great Tribulation

It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the "Tribulation" tab on our "Trending" menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman

In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, "But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand."
