Why is the Fed cutting rates as our stock market sits at record highs? Why are there so many countries with NEGATIVE interest rates? The simple truth is things are not so awesome. We have never gotten out of the mortgage crisis mess that began in 2007. All central bankers did was print money and paper it over. We are back to doing the same thing except for the ammunition we had back then is largely used up. Yes, they will continue to print money and cut rates while talking “hawkish” as to not panic the markets. What eventually will happen here is the collapse of the dollar and replacement as the world’s reserve currency. This isn’t speculation anymore. Read the headlines. Many countries are trading with each other without using the dollar. Russia and China and others have an alternative to the S.W.I.F.T system. As the dollar loses value, everything priced in dollars will rise. Inflation is coming. It’s coming with declining economic growth. They call that stagflation and it’s the worst of both worlds. Then as people lose confidence in the dollar, it can lead to hyperinflation as they seek alternatives. Cryptocurrencies are doing well because of a lack of faith in all currencies. I believe that gold and silver will go to record highs despite the manipulation to keep those prices down. If gold is such a relic, why are governments around the globe buying massive amounts?
I believe we are in a worldwide food crisis and most people don’t know about it because of misinformation that the government puts out. For example, the crops in the Midwest this year were late getting planted because of flooding. The USDA put out reports that while late-planted, we had no problem getting all those acres in. Then they tell us after getting hit with cold temps and snow that the condition of the crop improved. That’s impossible. But the market sells off because they are now run or controlled by algorithms. Watch the prices carefully in the months ahead as I believe we could explode up in price similar to 1993 when the government also downplayed late planting. Prices took off after farmers had sold their crop. Corruption city.
We also have the biggest protein disaster ever. 1/4 of the planet’s hogs have been wiped out by African Swine Fever. This will hit us in a big way in 2020. The price of pork and competing meats will rise here as we will be shipping massive amounts of meat to China/Asia to try to keep the 1.4 billion Chinese from civil disobedience. We all know about this problem, yet China’s pork prices are 4-5 times that of ours. We are exporting to China, yet prices are stuck.
