The current president of the United States talks like he’s a pirate or some kind of tribal kingpin that everyone is afraid of. He wants to take anything if it’s “there for the taking.” Not because it’s his, not because it’s right, but merely because he can. He has the ability to do it, so why not? And we say, “God bless America?” How can God bless a country that thinks like a gangster? This is the worst kind of raw-power politics, and if Congress doesn’t stop him, I think he will be the last American president to pretend that we are a constitutional republic. It’s funny that we’re about to celebrate the 250th birthday of our constitutional republic, a country of rules with checks and balances that keep one person or group of people from having too much power.
