The soul is set on fire by true calling, but it doesn’t consume it.
This is one reason why real calling can be so upsetting. It changes not only our plans but also how we see things. It’s no longer possible to look at the known world in the same way.
We will have to become more than we are now in order to complete the job. In short, calling is never just about who we are now; it’s also about who we are going to become, especially when it comes from God.
We might be scared by our true calling because it shows us how far apart we are from the people we need to become.
Someone like Elijah, Jonah, Daniel, or Ezekiel, who was not part of a church or religion, was sent by our Lord to share His message with people. If you want to really understand our Lord, let him talk to you through prayer and the Bible.
Prayer: Make the LORD Your Singular Focus
Lord, quiet the distractions around me and within me. Turn my heart toward You, and help me seek Your wisdom, presence, and will above all else. When worries or competing desires pull me away, gently guide me back. Let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect my trust in You. Give me strength to follow You faithfully today. Amen.
