ROME, THE ECCLESIA, AND WHY TRUE BELIEVERS MUST CUT TIES WITH IT- Rev.18:4

Before getting into the meat of today’s study I want to add something to what I shared last week about Jesus being the administrator of the Old Covenant. In John8:58 when Jesus told Israel “before Abraham was I am”. And also in John8:24 when Jesus told Israel “if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” He was telling them that He is the “I am” who made the covenant with them through Moses.

It was God who made the covenant with Israel and told Moses when he asked who he should say sent him to pharaoh to tell him to let my people go to tell him “I am hath sent me to you.” And here Jesus is telling Israel that He is I am.

I hope this helps some with recognizing that it was Jesus who made the Old Covenant with Israel. And it was Jesus who dealt with them throughout the time of that covenant. And it was Jesus who confirmed that covenant with Israel by becoming the final once for all sacrifice for their sins they committed while under the law.

This is why Paul told the Hebrews in Heb.9: that the death of the testator is required for a testament to be of force. Because the one who died is Jesus. Which proves the one who made the covenant with Israel is Jesus.

His death brought an end to the law for Israel during this administration of the Holy Spirit we call the New Covenant. A better covenant with better promises as Paul said in Heb.8:6. A covenant that Paul said in Rom.9:26 would last until the fulness of the gentiles has come in. The end of which Paul says will bring a return of the time when Jesus will resume His administration to Israel so that then “all Israel shall be saved.”

This is why we see Jesus talking to the 7 churches in Rev.2,3. Because His administration has resumed so that it can be brought to its rightful end when Israel bows to Him at His return. To join with Him to rule the world during Jesus’ millennial reign.

Speaking of Revelation when God had John write it Rome ruled the world. So it was Rome he was referring to when he said in Rev.17:18 “And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.”

This woman is the harlot the 10 kings destroy. A harlot because of her religious fornication. And the scriptures have warned believers in Jesus to “come out of her my people lest ye be made to partake in her sins and plagues.”

This verse is not warning to saved people that do not cut ties with the Rome/harlot system that this will cause them to lose their salvation. This can not be the meaning here because they are referred to as “my people”. And also because the scripture is clear in passages like Rom.8:35-39, 1John2:19, Eph.4:30, 1Cor.3:12-15, and John3:1-8 that once a man is saved he is always saved.

But, what this verse is saying is that the suffering she will go through as she is destroyed can be avoided by God’s people. The suffering from the disillusionment caused when the believer realizes he has been deceived for most of his Christian life. As well as the suffering that will come when those who continue in her system see every means by which they attained wealth is destroyed.

This is the destruction and suffering described in Rev.18. A time when the mystery Babylon system comes crashing down as the 10 kings/horns system comes into power. By destroying the harlot that is Rome, along with the mystery Babylon system she used to control every material aspect of global commerce and trade.

This is happening as we speak. So to the degree that anyone is still connected with the ways of the mystery Babylon system, especially her paper currency and paper financial instruments, it is to that degree they will partake in her sins and plagues.

What sins does this refer to? The sins of usury and greed that made her and those who used her system to attain their riches. Knowing full well the suffering they caused as they stole through inflation, deflation, and taxation the wealth from them who were subject to their rule.

God says “her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” And that this is why He has raised up 10 kings/horns to destroy her and her mystery Babylon system. When finished with the task God has put into their hearts to do these kings/horns will give their power and authority to the beast.

So it is at this time God is making His final call for His people to come out of Rome. Both spiritually and materially. For the great day of her total destruction is at hand.

To come out of her spiritually by turning from her false doctrines of original sin and sin nature., and all of her abominable practices spawned by these doctrines. Leaving behind the belief that men need Jesus because God has imputed the father’s sin to the son. And turning from the Gnosticism that permeated Augustine’s teachings to know Jesus in a way that can not be known until repentance from it is achieved.

Because Jesus can not be known by those who believe His flesh was different from all men. And He can not be known by those who believe His sacrifice was to appease God’s wrath against men for their naughty behavior.

When the truth is that Jesus had to die because we needed a man just like us in every way to join with us in our death. So that He being raised from the dead would conquer death once for all who will choose of their own free will to trust in Him.

Paul said if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus. And believe in your heart that He raised from the dead. You shall be saved. Jesus said ”Ye must be born again.” Born of the Spirit of God to be made a spiritual being that you could never be while only born of the flesh from your mother’s womb.

If you will do this then you will have eternal life now. And immortality at the resurrection. If you will do this you will be made a child of God and heir to His kingdom. If you will do this… then I will see you there or in the air!
