There have been reports of birds in New York City parks and green spaces testing positive for Bird Flu. According to Philip Meade, a postdoctoral fellow at Icahn School of Medicine, cases of bird flu have been detected in various bird species, including geese, a peregrine falcon, a red-tailed hawk, and a chicken, all found in Marcus Garvey Park in New York. However, based on reports, there have been only two cases of human infection in the United States since 2022. One of these cases was recently reported in Texas.
