Iowa Governor Announces End to COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, One Issue Remaining, Pestilence Through Kill Shots

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on Thursday said she will cancel her state’s COVID-19 emergency declaration and will shut down vaccine and case tracking websites. “We cannot continue to suspend lawfully established laws and treat COVID-19 as a public health emergency for ever,” Reynolds, a Republican, said in a statement. “After two years, it’s no longer viable or practical. The flu and other infectious disorders are part of our everyday lives, and coronavirus may be controlled accordingly.” The governor issued the final extension of Iowa’s public emergency and will allow it to terminate on the night of Feb. 15, according to her proclamation (pdf) (pdf).
