Being a slave to sin is as a man who is on a treadmill of works. You are it’s slave when you believe that unless you do those works, even good works, you are not righteous before God. How do we know this is what Paul meant being a slave to sin means? Because he says plainly that “the strength of sin is the law”. What is the law? Works. Good works. So being a slave to sin is to be under the law. And Paul says plainly the law is not of faith. Why? Because it is works. WHY THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU The kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus made this clear when He said, “If this were my kingdom then would my servants fight for me.” John18:36. This is why in Eph.6:12 Paul said “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The arena we fight in is a spiritual one. Not a natural one. So, when Jesus said “the kingdom of God is within you”, it was relative to the new spirit birthed in us that He came to provide for mankind.
