Healthcare Worker Vaccine Mandate is Now Effect Nationwide After Court Dismisses Texas LawSuit.

After a federal judge threw out a lawsuit from Texas on Wednesday, the federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers is now enforceable in all 50 states. In mid-December, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas issued a preliminary injunction blocking the mandate until the lawsuit is heard on the merits. The vaccine mandate from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) was put on hold in 25 states, including Texas, but it was remained in effect in another 25 states, according to the preliminary injunction. On January 14, the Biden administration filed an appeal against the injunction. After the US Supreme Court lifted injunctions blocking the CMS vaccine mandate on Jan. 13, Texas moved to dismiss the case on Tuesday.
