**Twitter **([NYSE:TWTR](https://www.fool.com/quote/nyse/twitter/twtr)) posted a strong quarter in terms of user growth and profitability, but the company has some work to do when it comes to monetization. For example, the U.S. saw the strongest increase in engagement but the biggest decline in ad revenue.

In this segment of Industry Focus: Tech, Motley Fool analyst Dylan Lewis and contributor Evan Niu, CFA, discuss Twitter’s ad business.

Tweeter continues to ban Conservatives, Christians from its ad business, HNewsWire was denied access to their advertising program as of last week ( MAY 2017).  It appears to be liberals only throughout their platform. Censorship has never been a profitable income stream.
