PENTECOST

PENTECOST; THE BEGINNING AND THE END OF “THE AGE OF GRACE”?- Ez.18

Happy Pentecost everyone! I was hopeful that today might be the fulfillment of 1Thes.4:16. The day we meet the Lord in the clouds. And would ever be with the Lord.

But, if you are seeing or reading this message on May 23, 2026 then the rapture has not happened yet. And while I am disappointed, I am not dismayed. Because it means I am still here sharing the gospel message with you. Being a witness to the things we have learned from God and His word.

To help people come to know that the book Christian’s read to know God’s will for their lives, and to know personally the God in whom they have placed their very lives, expresses it’s truths very differently than we are led to believe by those who are tasked with it’s disseminating. The seminaries and pastors they produce.

In fact, their rendition of who God is, who Jesus is, and what the atonement was for is so different that their’s is many times the opposite from what the book, the Bible, actually teaches. And those with an eye toward discernment, as all believers “by reason of use” should have, will quickly pick up on their deception.

For example, in Ezekiel18 the case is made regarding how God deals with sin under the law. And Ezekiel especially helps us understand sin’s effects when it comes to how that sin affects our children.

This is very important to know because with this information we have revealed for us a major chink in the arsenal of the deceiver. An arsenal the deceiver has titled “systematic theology”.

There have been voluminous diatribes written on this subject. But, the problem with these writings is that all of them were done for the purpose of promoting the lie instead of exposing it. The lie that all men are held accountable for the sins of their parents. That the sin the parent commits is actually imputed to the child.

This is the basis in systematic theology for their belief that when Rom.5:12 says “death passed to all men” when Adam sinned it means all of Adam’s offspring were punished with death for his sin.

This belief comes from the pagan practice of reading into the scriptures a person’s preconceived belief. Rather than getting out of the scriptures what they plainly say. In Rom.5:12 it leads you to a contradiction of the ensuing passages. By ignoring the context in which Paul makes this statement.

In systematic theology this is the preconceived notion that the brilliant but pagan Augustine taught in his “original sin” doctrine. A doctrine that is then put in the minds of everyone who listens to and believes their seminary taught pastors.

Seminaries that teach a system of studying theology that forces the student toward a belief in the doctrine of original sin. The doctrine that teaches that the son bears the iniquity of the father. The complete opposite from what Ezekiel taught in ch.18 of the book that bears his name.

Ezekiel used a whole chapter of his book in order to dispel any notion that a child bears the iniquity of his father. Saying that under the law only the person who commits the sin is held to account for that sin.

He makes this clear in vs.1-3 saying that “The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying,

2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge?

3 As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.”

Do you understand what Ezekiel said here? The children’s teeth being set on edge when their parents eat sour grapes refers to the effect a parent’s sin has on their children. That the children are punished by God for the sins of their parents.

But, Ezekiel said God told him that He would prove to Israel that this proverb they had come to believe about how God dealt with their sins is a lie. And that this exposure would cause this lie to never be heard in Israel again.

In these first 3 verses Ezekiel sets up the context for this chapter. With a summation of sorts found in vs.20 where God told Ezekiel to say, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”

And as you read the chapter with this in mind you will conclude that what Ezekiel said here is the proof we need to dispel any notion that Augustine’s original sin doctrine has any basis in Biblical fact.

I hope you can see this. And that it helps you as you study God’s word to know Him in a greater and greater way. And more personally every day. But, this leaves us with the question; why does death passed to all men if it wasn’t because it was a punishment for Adam’s sin being imputed to his children?

I am going to leave this question with you now. But, I will share the answer to this in the next message. But, until then look for yourselves in the Bible and see if you can find the answer to this all important life altering and atonement defining question. happy hunting!

And if you are listening to this message and have not yet come to a saving faith in Jesus. I have this final word for you.

Jesus said you need to be born again to enter the kingdom of God. And Paul tells us that this happens when we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus. And believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead.

When you do this God creates a spirit in you that was never there before. A spirit that makes you God’s child having eternal life. And as His child you become an heir to His kingdom.

If you will do this then your last breath here will be your first breath in heaven. If you will do this then you will have eternal life now, and immortality at the resurrection. If you will do this… then I will see you there or in the air!
