The final phrase of the book of Judges in the Old Testament portion of the Bible, a book that chronicles the moral degradation of society in Israel in the years following Moses’ death, reads: There was no ruler in Israel at the time. Everyone did what they thought was right. (2 Kings 21:25) If we can’t agree on what is “truth” and what is “not truth,” we’re in the same boat as the morally depraved country of Israel, which ceased following Moses’ law and “everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” And that is where we are today in the United States, as people follow their idols and expect to these idols to lead them out of our culture’s current corruption, which is on the verge of collapse.
