For the serious student of the Bible it seems that when they get off track it is most often because they do not come to a clear Biblical understanding of where the law fits in the believer’s life. Or if they have they have placed it where God never meant it to be. Because the law is to have no place in the believer’s life at all. None whatsoever. Do you remember the passage in Ps.91 that says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”? Well, that was Old Testament thinking that was motivated by their confidence in the law. But, now we who have believed no longer dwell UNDER the shadow of the almighty. His presence now dwells IN us by grace through faith because God Himself has come in Jesus Christ. In Heb.10:1,2 Paul wrote, “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
