According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, COVID-19 hospitalizations are on the rise in Pennsylvania and many other states. The increased number of patients has caused hospitals and long-term care facilities to run out of space. COVID-related hospitalizations in Pennsylvania hit an all-time high this week, with 7,488 cases reported on January 10. There were 3,774 hospitalizations on November 22nd, which is more than double the number of cases. 84 percent of Pennsylvania’s hospital beds were occupied last week. According to the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, three percent of Pennsylvania hospitals have both their ICU and inpatient staffed beds at or above capacity. “Hospitals across Pennsylvania are strained, and many are at or approaching capacity as they treat more patients while experiencing continued staffing challenges,” Liam Migdail, spokesman for the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, told The Epoch Times. “There…

The latest decision suggests the high court lacks the appetite to wade into the matter of mandates. Court Recognizes Service Member’s Right to Refuse EUA Vaccine Mandates.

The court recognizes the statutory right for military members to refuse a vaccine with only an EUA (Emergency Use Authorization). The military cannot mandate vaccines that have not been FDA approved. On November 12, the court in the Northern District of Florida considered the requests for emergency relief to pause the Department of Defense COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The City of Los Angeles has started enforcement of its COVID-19 vaccine mandate for indoor businesses. The mandate, also named SafePassLA, requires all people eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, including kids 12 and above, to show photo ID and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 when entering indoor restaurants, gyms, entertainment facilities, personal care establishments, and some city buildings. From Monday, inspectors from the Department of Building and Safety, and authorized agents, started enforcing the ordinance. Business owners who violate the mandate will receive a warning for the first violation, a $1,000 fine for a second violation, and a $2,000 fine for a third violation. Fines are capped at $5,000 for four or more violations. The city said the measure would help stop the spread of the CCP virus.
