U.S. Capitol Police Blew Up Suspicious Vehicle In Front Of ...

A suspicious car was detected in front of the U.S. Supreme Court on October 5th, where the U.S. nine justices began their new term with hearing the first oral arguments in person.

A law enforcement team pulled a man from a smoke-filled SUV. The suspect was identified as Dale Paul Melvin, 55. About 9:30 a.m. Melvin parked illegally in front of the Supreme Court and refused to talk to officers.

U.S. Capitol Police reportedly conducted a controlled explosion of the vehicle as smoke was seen over the scene.

According to the local police department, the incident is being investigated. People were asked not to come close to this place.

“We are investigating a suspicious vehicle in front of the Supreme Court along First Street, NE,” the department said in a Twitter statement. “Please stay away from the area. We will provide more information as soon as we can.”

A day earlier, the nine justices began their new term, coming back to the office after a nearly 19-month absence because of the coronavirus pandemic.

This is not the first incident near the U.S. Capitol to take place in the last months.

Satan’s counterfeit systems of authority, to which the believer is not to submit. Corrupt leaders—like Satan himself (Gen. 3:1-7)—seek to lead people into sin, and these must be resisted…

Though it is difficult for us to understand, there are times when God will place us under harsh leaders, and we are required to submit to their authority.

Replacing parental control with government control of education (and other aspects of child raising) has been a goal of authoritarians since Plato. A day of reckoning is coming. Politicians hope that we’ll keep pointing fingers at the rich so we don’t notice who the real culprits are.

Replacing parental control with government control of education (and other aspects of child raising) has been a goal of authoritarians since Plato. The first psalm warns us not to keep company with evil people. We are told not to listen to their counsel, stand in their way or sit in their seats. The word ‘blessed’ is translated ‘happy’ in some newer renderings. Blessing implies the goodness of God will be with such a person. Look for these beatitudes throughout Scripture. If the Word gives us instruction as to what to do to find God pouring out His goodness on us, we should give careful attention to that instruction. You will be blessed if you avoid bad company. Man has a natural tendency to gravitate toward mocking and complaint. Don’t!

Consider: “If I meditate on God’s Word and don’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, whatever I do will prosper.”
