Watchman: The World Economic Forum Advocated for Full Authority Over the Dissemination of Information on the Internet. Could It Be That People Have Grown Tired of Listening to Their Dishonesty? Picture These Satan Soldiers Crying at WEF

By SRH,

Thanks to the internet and (shrinking) press freedoms, legacy media outlets no longer have a monopoly on information and narratives.

During a WEF discussion at Davos titled "Defending Truth," Emma Tucker, Editor-in-Chief of the Wall St. Journal, expressed her concern about the decreasing control over 'the facts,' as reported by Modernity.news.

"I think there is a particular challenge for well-known brands like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal," Tucker remarked, highlighting that "not too long ago, we had complete control over the news." We were the guardians, and we firmly believed in our possession of the truth."

"If it was published in reputable newspapers like the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times, it was considered a fact," she clarified. She also observed that in today's world, individuals have a plethora of news sources at their disposal and are increasingly inclined to scrutinize the information we present.

Oh, Russia, Russia, Russia!

European Commission VP Věra Jourová also expressed her views during the same discussion, emphasizing the increasing worry surrounding "disinformation" as a possible security risk. She highlighted that the current situation is in line with the Russian military doctrine, which involves participating in information warfare.

Recall the incident where the Hillary Clinton campaign supposedly utilized a former (?) British spook's Russian source to disseminate a fabricated narrative about Donald Trump across multiple media platforms? That kind of information warfare?

Recall the incident where a group of 51 former US intelligence officials allegedly engaged in spreading misinformation during the 2020 election? They suggested that the NY Post's Hunter Biden laptop revelation may have been influenced by external factors.

"Misinformation can be a powerful tool," Jourová continued, emphasizing that "in the EU, our primary objective is to improve the system so that individuals can easily access reliable information. We refrain from engaging in discussions about personal viewpoints. We will not intervene in altering anyone's viewpoints or choice of words. This is about honesty.

Oh, really? Extra

As we discussed earlier this week, Jourová has been in discussions with prominent representatives from YouTube and Meta during her stay in Davos, stressing the significance of complying with regulations. Meanwhile, her boss, Ursula von der Leyen, has emphasized the importance of thorough global oversight of information in the digital era.

The World Economic Forum proposed having complete control over the distribution of information on the internet. Is it possible that individuals have become weary of hearing their lies? Imagine the people at WEF.
