16 US Governors Calling on Canadian Feds to Drop Vaccine Mandates for Truckers.

Alberta and Saskatchewan’s premiers, along with 16 U.S. governors, have signed a letter requesting both nations’ federal governments to immediately repeal vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers.

The letter’s authors urged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and US President Joe Biden to immediately reinstate previous cross-border truck driver immunization and quarantine exemptions.

“We recognize the critical role of vaccines in the fight against COVID-19 and will continue to encourage all who are eligible to get vaccinated.” “However, we are gravely concerned that ending these exemptions has had demonstrably detrimental consequences for the North American supply chain, the cost of living, and people’s access to basic products in both of our nations,” the letter signed on Feb. 16 states.

In a tweet on Feb. 16, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney said the vaccine mandate is “poor public health theatre” that “has to go.”

With North America already experiencing supply chain restrictions, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe remarked on Twitter that new policies “would inflict enormous pressure” on Canadian and American families.

The timing of the decision to end the vaccine and quarantine exemptions for truck drivers “could not have been worse,” according to the letter, as North America already faces severe supply chain restrictions.

“These limits, together with rising inflation, impose enormous burdens on Canadian and American citizens,” the letter stated.

“Furthermore, transportation associations have told us that the lack of exemptions will drive thousands of truck drivers out of the business, which is already suffering from a severe labor shortage.” The elimination of these exemptions is ultimately pointless, and we can’t afford to lose any more truck drivers who deliver food and other essential commodities across the border.”

Saskatchewan declared on February 8 that all COVID-19 vaccine mandates will be lifted on February 14, while masking rules will be phased down by the end of the month. On February 8, Alberta ended its vaccine requirement, and on March 1, it lifted most other public health prohibitions, including masking.

The joint statement comes after Trudeau used the Emergencies Act to address ongoing protests in Ottawa over the federal government’s COVID-19 legislation on February 14. The Act offers authorities broad new powers, including the ability to cut off protesters’ funding and freeze the corporate accounts of companies whose trucks are involved in blockades, as well as revoke their insurance.

The protests began in response to the federal government’s vaccine requirement for truck drivers entering Canada from the United States, which took effect on January 15. If they wish to escape a two-week quarantine when they return to Canada, Canadian truck drivers must be completely vaccinated, according to the rule.

Non-U.S. nationals entering into the United States who are not vaccinated, including non-U.S. truck drivers, will face similar requirements beginning Jan. 22.

The majority of Canadian premiers, including those from Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, have criticized the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act.

These demonstrations will not end until all vaccine mandates are repealed. The sneaky move made by the Canadian federal government to only cater to the truckers is naïve at best. Try as you might, but you can’t take away the God given rights of your citizens and dress it up as a justice to the public. Your citizens are taking notice, and watching closely. The U.S. government is covertly recruiting Google, which maintains access to swaths of Americans’ personal data and information, to surveil their web searches, a new report from Forbes suggests.

For years, the federal government has quietly demanded that the Big Tech search engine company hand over user data on anyone who conducts online searches using key terms. In 2017, a Minnesota judge OKed a warrant directing Google to expose user data for anyone in Edina who searched a certain fraud victim’s name. In a similar request in 2020, investigators demanded the Silicon Valley giant reveal information about “anyone who had searched for the address of an arson victim who was a witness in the government’s racketeering case against singer R Kelly.”

In the most recently publicized warrant, which was accidentally unsealed by the U.S. Department of Justice last month and then quickly resealed, the government reportedly demanded to see the personal account information and IP addresses of anyone who searched for a possible kidnapping and sexual assault victim’s name, “two spellings of her mother’s name and her address over 16 days across the year.” It is unclear just how many users, including innocent Americans, were included in the data Google unveiled to federal investigators.

Google defended its compliance in a statement but simply claimed that users’ private data is protected by the company only if law enforcement doesn’t request it.

“As with all law enforcement requests, we have a rigorous process that is designed to protect the privacy of our users while supporting the important work of law enforcement,” a Google representative told Forbes.

Google has also been a key player in the government’s plot to track down people present on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6. According to Wired, the federal government has sustained 45 criminal cases that use Google geolocation data “to place suspects inside the US Capitol on January 6.” Wired not only notes that Google’s participation in the FBI’s reliance on geolocation is “at a scale not publicly seen before,” but that there were “at least six [warrants] where the identity of the suspect appears to have been unknown to the FBI prior to the geofence warrant.”

“They also reveal that within days or weeks, the FBI had access to personal information about many of their owners, including at least the account name, email, and phone number. None of the legal experts WIRED spoke with had heard of another case where the personal data for devices in a geofence warrant had been unmasked at this scale,” Wired reported.

Google also complied when the FBI wanted other data related to Jan. 6, “including recovery numbers and emails, and dates on which the [Google] accounts were created and last accessed.” Obviously we can see that there is some good justice to be served when it comes to the power of technology, however it’s not such a good thing in light of the current political tension. Proverbs 22:16 says “Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty”.
