BY SRH Update March 7,2025 On Thursday, clashes between followers of the ousted Bashar al-Assad government and the country’s new extreme Islamist administration killed 48 people, destroying any remaining hope that Syria could overcome its status as a victim of the Western-imposed regime change and usher in an era of tranquility and stability. A significant minority group is pleading with Russia to intervene on their behalf as they fear for their lives in the face of rising sectarian violence and the impending outbreak of civil war. Pro-Assad forces attacked and killed 16 regime security forces in the town of Jableh, which is located in Syria’s coastal Latakia region.
