How fitting that they should be led into the Promised Land by the one whose name is Jesus in English. Jesus shows us how to inherit everything that God has planned for us. Moses was informing the people in the wilderness that Joshua would require their support. Romans 12:8 lists leadership as one of the gifts. If it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is helping others, let him give liberally; if it is leadership, let him govern faithfully; if it is giving mercy, let him do it cheerfully. The fact that some people possess and utilize this gift does not imply that they are capable of doing it independently. They also require other people to use their gifts.
