Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Our Faith Hinges On The Resurrection Of Jesus. There Are Many Religions That Claim To Be The Truth, But The Resurrection Of Jesus Is One Of The Main Events That Sets Christianity Apart

We base our faith on the fact that Jesus rose from the dead. There are many faiths that say they are true, but one thing that makes Christianity unique is that Jesus rose from the dead. One reason new authors who want us to think it was a hoax attack it so often is because of this. However, after two thousand years, none of those theories have passed the test of time. Read 5/5 to learn more about this. That problem can’t be solved by the gospel word if death is the end of life. How could we be sure that Jesus could raise us from the dead? How could we be sure that God accepted what He did? What kind of God would we be serving if believing in Jesus would only get us into trouble and not reward? Because […]

Watchman’s Daily Devotional:

If I asked another why Jesus died, they would probably say, “So that all who come to Him might have forgiveness and eternal life.” That’s true, but it doesn’t get to the point of today’s verse from Peter. In this line, Peter stresses the instant change that happens. Paul does this too, in Romans 6:16–20. We can live by the Spirit now that sin has no power over us. Baptism is also a picture of this. Immersion in water represents our death to sin. It shows a grave. Rising from the water means being raised with Jesus to a new life, a good life. The rite doesn’t save you, but it does show what has happened in your life. People who ask to be saved from punishment but don’t change their lives haven’t really been freed from sin. We’re not

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: I Might Not Have Tomorrow, Even if Jesus Returns in a Century. According to Luke 2:49, I Must Be Attending to My Father’s Business.

This verse appears in the context of Paul’s exhortation to believers who were expecting the Lord’s return. Paul had taught them that the world would be caught off guard, but believers would be prepared. That is because we are the children of today. We stroll through the light. The world longs for the night, where obscurity conceals their evil. The darkness keeps them from seeing what’s approaching. Because the Lord will return and summon His people to join Him, we should live in anticipation of that day. We should treat each day as if it were our last. We want to be about the Lord’s business when He comes back for us. We surely do not want to find ourselves compromising in sin when the time comes. That is why Paul urged the Thessalonian church to be sober. That entails

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: We Experience the Blessings of God and the Spiritual Food and Drink From His Word, but Then We Look to Politicians to Save Us, or Financial Diversification, or Any Number of Things. God Alone Can Save Us. When We Put Our Faith in Anything or Anyone Else, We Become Just Like Israel at the Border of the Promised Land, Trusting in Ourselves

The Corinthians were being warned by Paul not to get comfortable in their walk with the Lord. He used Israel in the desert many years ago to show how people can see the Lord at work and be blessed by Him every day, but still live in a way that makes Him angry. Going through the Red Sea was like being baptized. For some reason, the water seemed to come from the Rock, which Paul says was Christ with them. But when the test came, they showed that they didn’t believe in God at all. The Israelites worshiped other gods, even though they had all of God’s gifts and thought of themselves as God’s children. They had idols from Egypt, some of them. When Israel heard what the spies said, they didn’t look to God for help, but to themselves.

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Walking In The Spirit Is What It Means To Be Truly Free, And Love Is The First Fruit Of The Spirit

Walking in the Spirit is the only way to be truly free, and the first fruit of the Spirit is love. “All of us have knowledge” must have been another term that the Corinthian church used a lot to explain why they ate meat that had been given to idols. It was hard to get meat unless you went to a pagan temple. The Corinthians thought that because they knew there was only one true God, they could buy the meat that was presented to idols that were really just stones. Paul is telling them that “knowledge” may make us feel good about ourselves. If we think we know more than our brother and do something that hurts his feelings, then that knowledge is a reason to act out of pride. Love makes our fellow Christians stronger. Love will do

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: If There Is Jealousy or Strife in Your Life, Take Another Look at the Gospel and Humble Yourself Before the Lord and Others

The church in Corinth had split into different groups, and each one said it was the best and best of all. Paul got to the bottom of what was wrong. They weren’t following the Spirit. Jest and fights are sure signs of a sexual life. Both come from nature’s old ways. The Corinthians were envious of those who were pious. It was a competitive energy that comes from being proud. The students talked about how great their teacher was and said that teacher’s teaching was better than other teachers’. When people are spiritually proud, they fight over small beliefs and forget about the big ones. The result is splitting up. It was like the rest of the world, Paul wrote. They did not have any of the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. Paul knew that he couldn’t teach

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Fellowship Focuses on the Things We Have In Common Regarding Our Love for Jesus and Appreciation for What He Has Done for Us. It Is the Humble Soul Who Will Not Insist on Arguing About Minor Doctrines and Nonessential Convictions

Paul may have understood grace better than anyone else who ever lived. Christians were killed because God called him to be an evangelist. He wrote a lot of the New Testament. He made clear to the church many of the core beliefs of our faith, but he also left room for people with different beliefs about small aspects of living out our faith. People in the early church didn’t always agree on things like which day to pray and whether Christians could eat food that may have been given to idols. Paul told people to follow their feelings when it came to how they lived out their faith in these areas. Don’t do something if you think it’s wrong. Don’t make a big deal out of someone who doesn’t share your beliefs, though. And don’t use your freedom in front

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: Fervency of Spirit Is Necessary to Serve the Lord as We Should. If We Forget the Greatness and Privilege of God’s Call on Our Lives, These Necessary Qualities Will Grow Cold and Our Service to God Will Falter

People who follow Jesus have a mission and a calling. We know that we only have a short time to invest in eternity and honor God here on earth. We should be excited to do God’s will every day because of this. Paul is telling us not to get lazy and lose our drive to do what God has asked us to do. It is very important to save the lives of people who are going to hell without being saved. “Fierce” came from the Latin word for “boiling liquid or glowing metal.” Our spirit is what we are at our core, and the Spirit of God lives inside us. It is through our spirit that we talk to God’s Spirit. It’s what we call our heart sometimes. We need to keep the fire in our hearts alive if we

Watchman’s Daily Devotional: To Understand What Took Place In These Words Of Jesus, We Must Understand How The Words Sounded In The Language They Were Speaking And In The Culture Of The Time

To grasp the significance of Jesus’ words, it is essential to consider how they resonated in the original language and within the cultural context of that era. The translation holds true, yet the words and names carry profound significance. In a moment of profound inquiry, Jesus posed the question of who the crowd was searching for. John 18:5-6 5 They answered him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am he.” Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 6 When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
