Christ Is Born

The Bible is very clear about why Christ was born. The Bible tells us that He was born to “take away the sin of the world”(John1:29). And Jesus said that this sin was that “they believe not on me”(John16:9). Because it is in believing in Jesus that we have the eternal life that Jesus was born to provide for us. 

For Israel, this would begin by Him fulfilling the law so that it could pass away(Mt.5:17,18). This was necessary for Israel because as long as they were under the law they could not be joined with Jesus for eternal life(Rom.7:1-4). Because while they were under the law they were “kept shut up unto the faith which should afterward be revealed.”(Gal.3:23). 

And for the Gentiles(all who are not Israelites) Jesus came to offer them the same New Covenant He brought to Israel. A covenant that they too had never had with God before(Eph.2:12-15). A covenant they could also be a part of, along with any Israelite who would believe in Him, if the Gentile would “turn from their idols(repentance) to serve the living and true God”(1Thes.1:9). A covenant that would bring eternal life to both Jew and Gentile that “makes of the two one new man”(Eph.2:15). 

Isaiah even tells us that there was a purpose in Jesus’ birth being of a virgin. He tells us that the reason for this virgin birth was that it would be a sign to Israel of their Messiah saying, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Immanuel means God with us. So we see in this verse that the only reason God tells us Jesus was to be born of a virgin was so that Israel would know that in Jesus God was with them. 

But, some have added to the scripture by saying there was other purpose in the virgin birth. Things that are never found in the Bible. One of the crazy things they say about it is that it was necessary so that Jesus would not have a sin nature. But, not only do we not see anything in the Bible that ever says this was the purpose of the virgin birth. We also never see anything in the Bible that says anyone has a sin nature. We don’t see this when we read about Adam or anyone else. 

So why would so many who say they believe the Bible believe that this was also a reason for the virgin birth if this teaching is nowhere found in the Bible? The only explanation there can be for this is that they have not believed the Bible in regard to what it plainly says about the need for the virgin birth. But, they have instead believed the false teaching of men rather than God’s word. They have changed God’s word to fit their beliefs rather than conforming to what they believe in God’s word. 

It is a very serious thing to change God’s word to fit our beliefs. It is a practice cult are made from. And Paul says that those who do this in regard to his gospel are “anathema”. Damned. Gal.1:8,9. So we must determine that if we have believed in Jesus, we will also believe only what His word plainly says. And that we will not allow what we have wrongly believed to tell His word what it must mean. But, that what is plainly stated in the Bible will be what forms our beliefs. 

And that we will from now on believe God’s word that says plainly that the virgin birth was to serve only one purpose. And that was that it would be a sign to Israel that God is with them in this child called Immanuel who was born of a virgin. There was only one and His name is Jesus. And it is in this name that all men must be saved. If you have trusted in Him then make the decision not to believe man’s doctrines and to only believe the plain teaching of the Bible. So that the word is not choked so that it becomes unfruitful as Jesus taught in Mark4:3-24. 

But, if you are one that has not yet trusted in Jesus please make that decision today. He offers you eternal life without condemnation(John3:16,17). He does not hold any trespasses (things you may have done that are wrong) against you(2Cor.5:19). He only wants you to know Him so that you can have a relationship with Him. Because Jesus said that only in knowing Him can we have the eternal life He came to give us(John17:3). 

So if you will confess Jesus is Lord. And you will believe in your heart that He is raised from the dead. You will be saved. You will be delivered from death to life(John5:24). 

And if you will then diligently seek to know Him through prayer and Bible study you will know His will for your life so that you can have the abundant eternal life full of love, joy, and peace Jesus promised to those who love Him. The greatest gift ever is given! And the reason Christ was born!

This is because powerholders and the majority can fall victim to a lying spirit-and this means a power that actually seizes the majority of experts, the political leadership, and the public.
