Christian Parallel Infrastructure Already Under Attack In The U.S.

A church in Moscow, Idaho has made headlines for detesting COVID-19 restrictions and vaccine mandates. Church figures have made their voices heard by elected officials over Covid restrictions, built powerful institutions in parallel to secular government, harassed perceived opponents, and accumulated land and businesses in pursuit of a long-term goal of transforming America into a nation ruled according to its own, ultra-conservative moral precepts.

In my personal opinion i don’t think that we should be making such a fuss while in the developmental process of simply separating from secularism. Inevitably far left reporters will do whatever they can to demonize followers of Christ. Which they’ve already done over at VICE, suggesting that every man in attendance at Christ Church is a rapist due to Christian teachings. These accusations were the result of various sexual abuse cases in the town of Moscow, specifically Christ Church attendees. You’d have to be pretty dense to assume that this behavior is a display of Christian intent across the board as we attempt to dissect ourselves from the secular worldly nature of man.

About a month ago, a video by Wilson about fake vaccine passports was removed from YouTube. The blogpost, entitled “A Biblical Defense of Fake Vaccine IDs”, was based on a logical theory asserting that the vaccine response was a “power play” on the part of the Biden administration, which intended to leave the restrictions in place permanently. Undeniably, vaccine passports pose a serious threat to the values of freedom loving Americans. And it has an obvious role to play in determining wether or not we’re seeing true tyranny, or scare tactics to identify political adversaries.

There are tensions in Moscow between church-goers and other town residents wary of land purchases by business owners affiliated with the church. The pandemic underscored perceived camps within the business community, particularly as Christ Church members protested a local mask ordinance. (Doug Wilson’s son Nate and two grandsons were charged with 13 misdemeanors for posting anti-mask stickers and anti-government drawings around downtown Moscow.) 

The church is increasingly drawing people to the area who are attracted to the idea of northern Idaho as a conservative “redoubt” against American modernity, and by the church’s “reconstructionist” position, which holds that the world will need to be governed according to their interpretation of biblical morality before Christ returns to earth. I’d say that their intentions are pure, and man is flawed. Now, it is more important than ever to practice what you preach. Because at this point in history, society is looking for any reason to demonize our faith.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

I don’t personally think that we should be trying to take over a town, i’d say that it would probably be better to create infrastructure from the ground up. In a place where nobody has the opportunity to accuse followers of Christ of trying to colonize and conquer society. We aren’t told to conquer, we’ve been instructed to spread the gospel. So why would we begin development across the street from secular society? This isn’t a contest, we’re trying to save these people. We’re no better than those of opposing beliefs, we must emphasize this fact and develop a caring approach to the spread of the gospel. Stay inquisitive in the word of God, and the world around you.
