The president-elect was asked about the nearly 60 Democratic lawmakers who are boycotting his inauguration when he sat down for an exclusive interview with “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt Wednesday.
“That’s a very bad misrepresentation,” Trump said. “So let’s see what happens. As far as other people not going, that’s okay because we need seats so badly. I hope they give me their tickets. Are they going to give us their tickets? What happens to their tickets?”
“Many of the celebrities that are saying they’re not going — they were never invited,” he continued. “I don’t want the celebrities. I want the people.”
“I think he grandstanded, and then he got caught in a very bad lie,” Trump said of Lewis. “What he did was a very, very bad thing, a very bad thing for the country. The country has been divided; it’s not divided by me. What he did is very, very divisive.” (RELATED: Trump Strikes Back After House Dem Says He’s Not ‘A Legitimate President’)
“My biggest problem is there aren’t enough tickets. You will have crowds like they have rarely seen before.”
