Donald Trump: John Lewis Was Grandstanding, Got Caught Lying .

The president-elect was asked about the nearly 60 Democratic lawmakers who are boycotting his inauguration when he sat down for an exclusive interview with “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt Wednesday.

“That’s a very bad misrepresentation,” Trump said. “So let’s see what happens. As far as other people not going, that’s okay because we need seats so badly. I hope they give me their tickets. Are they going to give us their tickets? What happens to their tickets?”

“Many of the celebrities that are saying they’re not going — they were never invited,” he continued. “I don’t want the celebrities. I want the people.”

Democratic Georgia Rep. John Lewis said he would skip the inauguration for the first time ever because he did not see Trump as “a legitimate president,” but it was later reported that he also skipped George W. Bush’s inauguration for the same reason.

“I think he grandstanded, and then he got caught in a very bad lie,” Trump said of Lewis. “What he did was a very, very bad thing, a very bad thing for the country. The country has been divided; it’s not divided by me. What he did is very, very divisive.” (RELATED: Trump Strikes Back After House Dem Says He’s Not ‘A Legitimate President’)

“My biggest problem is there aren’t enough tickets. You will have crowds like they have rarely seen before.”

In that same interview, Trump said he wouldn’t use Twitter if the media were honest.“I don’t like tweeting, I have other things I could be doing. But I get very dishonest media, very dishonest press, and it’s my only way that I can counteract [sic]… If the press were honest, which it’s not, I would absolutely not use Twitter. I wouldn’t have to.”
