You have an incredible story. Mine is somewhat similar to yours. Mother died when I was three giving birth to my younger sister. Dad had a nervous breakdown and never recovered. The seven of us were split up and put in foster care. I was in the system from 3 until 18. One particular Foster Home had four of us “foster kids” they were really cruel and abusive. I finally left that home, was in a place for homeless kids called Valley Youth House in Bethlehem, Pa. then a few other foster homes, then a big youth home in Gettysburg, Pa called Hoffman Homes for Youth. By the time I was a Senior in HIgh School. I just rented a room from some nice people. Graduated, joined the Army and served my Country with the 101st Airborne Rakkasans! Served in the Middle East and other deployments.
Became a Police Officer, elected Mayor of a town I lived in, I wanted to help people but that was not the avenue to do it. And still my past haunted me. Could not shake off the pain from the past. in 2012 enrolled at Liberty University graduated with my Bachelors in Ministry. Returned to Liberty and obtained my Masters in Ministry when I graduated in May of 2019. In November an abandoned Church building was given to me (after several interviews by the board of the church that owned building) and I started a church called Christ’s Meeting House. One of the objectives at Christ’s Meeting House is to minister to kids, My wife and I have several children at our home who need help, parents can’t afford to buy jackets and shoes which tend to surprise parents when they realize their kids no longer fit in the jacket they wore last year; but can’t afford to buy new ones. We help the kids out and buy them shoes or jackets when its needed. Some parents and especially single moms just don’t have the money. As a Pastor now, it is very alarming to see the lack of interest in spiritual things. People don’t attend church, and the the only gospel that seems to get any persons attention is the ear tickling gospel that is not preached at the church the Lord has put me in charge of. The building I am in is 124 years old, needs work and it reminds me of our Nation. Spiritually crumbled and if not ministered to, will collapse. We are truly on the precipice of Tribulation. Honey bee die off, earthquakes and volcanoes like never seen before, wars and rumors of wars, Fukishama still leaking radiation into the Pacific, locust swarms like never seen before since Bible times, increase in evil an cruelty especially towards children. New York voting to murder babies up until the day they are born., Evil being called good and good being called evil, I could go on and on but you already know this. And still the people are asleep or running to the “prosperity preachers” looking for their best life now. There is much work to do, people pouring into hell every day as Jesus said, “the way to heaven is straight and narrow and few find it.” I look at my Country that I love and I see what has happened to her, I know the enemy is within to snuff out the light she has been to the world. But they won’t snuff out our light given to us by the Lord will they! The spirit of the Antichrist working in the world making its final preparations, waiting for the Father to pull the “restrainer” which has been holding him back. God speed to you sir!
