Ottawa Demonstrators Receive Arrest Notices. Freedom Loving Citizens Made Out to be Domestic Terrorists.

On Feb. 16, police in the downtown section of the Canadian capital, which has been besieged by the Freedom Convoy for more than two weeks, began issuing arrest warrants to protestors.

Officers in yellow vests with the words “police liaison” emblazoned on them moved around the peaceful protest camp, issuing warnings. They put them on the door handles or behind the windscreen wipers if no one responded knocks on truck or campervan doors.

The handout, titled “Notice to Demonstrators,” stated:

“You must leave the area now.  Anyone who blocks streets or assists others in blocking streets is breaking the law, and you could be arrested. If you continue to engage in illegal behavior, you will face charges.”

Those arrested may be released on bond “based on factors specified in Part XVI of the Criminal Code,” according to police.

The people of Ottawa were being denied the lawful use, enjoyment, and operation of their property—”and you are causing businesses to close,” according to the grounds offered. Under the Criminal Code, that is considered mischief.”

Police warned that charges or convictions related to the rally could result in a ban on entering the US border, jeopardizing the lives of many truck drivers.

“Anyone who undertakes these criminal actions could face fines or be asked to appear in court,” the notification added.

“Driver’s licenses for commercial vehicles and private vehicles can both be suspended or revoked.”

Protesters were underwhelmed by the threats, as several of the pieces of paper were crumpled up and thrown aside.

Authorities’ actions against the protestors did not stop with the notification.

With an estimated one in every four of the 500 or so trucks and cars in the occupied zone carrying at least one child, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has declared an emergency, making it unlawful for minors to be present.

Parents who bring their children to a protest might face fines of up to $5000.

On February 16, Canada’s Public Safety Minister, Marco Mendicino, made the guns charge without providing evidence linking a recent seizure of weapons by Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) personnel in Alberta to the Freedom Convoy.

On Feb. 14, the RCMP said that 13 persons had been arrested and weapons had been seized during the Coutts border demonstration.

Mendicino claimed, “Several individuals at Coutts have substantial ties to a far-right extreme organization with leaders in Ottawa.” “We’re talking about a well-organized, quick-thinking, well-informed group that is motivated by an extremist ideology.”

However, a trucker’s street captain flatly denied the minister’s assertions.

“That sounds like fearmongering,” David Paisley said, “and that the government is getting really desperate to discredit us.”

Paisley stated, “We’ve been very peaceful and are cooperating with the city. The government is starting to play dirty”

On Wellington St., Paisley symbolizes a number of trucks.

“If I knew about it, I would be shouting it from the rooftops,” he said, adding that no one in the protesting organizations sought violence. We’d be the first to respond.”

It’s egregious that the Canadian government seeks to discredit these demonstrators in this manner. But is it surprising? Absolutely not, because wether you choose to believe it or not these so called “public servants” only seek to persecute, track, and control the public. To ignore this fact is to ignore every single development in recent history. Ontario’s health minister announced today that the government will not abandon its vaccine passport system as other jurisdictions have done, and that the mask requirement will be in place “for some time.”

Christine Elliott said at a press conference in Kitchener, Ont., that the government will suspend Directive 2 “in the coming days” and begin a “gradual and cautious” resumption of non-emergent or non-urgent surgeries and procedures.

“We’ve already set out our opening timelines and started on Jan. 31. The next phase is as of Feb. 21, and then March 14. We have no plans currently to drop the passport vaccination situation or masking. We believe that masking is going to be important for some time to come,” Elliott added.

Several provinces have lately stated that their COVID-19 vaccine passport programs and other pandemic restrictions will be phased out.

In Alberta, the necessity for proof of vaccination expired on February 8, and all businesses had their capacity limits relaxed, with the exception of bigger venues with more than 500 people. Starting Feb. 14, the province will also repeal the rule mandating youngsters to wear masks in school.

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe also stated on February 8 that the province’s vaccine passport mandate will be phased down beginning February 14. By the end of February, the province’s mask requirements will have expired.

Most COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted by March 14, according to the Quebec government, however masking and proof-of-vaccination requirements will remain in effect until further notice.

The Ontario government produced a roadmap last month outlining the steps the province will take to reduce public health measures, however it does not say when masking or the requirement for confirmation of immunization will be lifted.

When asked if Ontario will lessen or eliminate the requirement for vaccine passports before March 14, Elliott said “we are willing to change if necessary” based on the number of hospitalizations and recommendations from the province’s chief medical officer of health.

“We are looking at the evidence on a daily basis as well. The trends are going in a good direction now, but we can’t sit back on our laurels and assume that it’s going to always continue,” Elliott added.

With the relaxation of COVID-19-related travel restrictions, France, Greece, and Portugal have become the latest European countries to do so.

Vaccinated tourists, for example, will not be required to provide a negative COVID-19 test in order to enter, whereas unvaccinated visitors will. Greece also no longer requires pre-departure testing.

Officials in France said this week that the country will no longer require vaccinated people from outside the European Union to pass a COVID-19 test.

“We again required tests in December over the Omicron variant. In the coming days we will announce that tests are no longer needed for vaccinated people,” Clement Beaune of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs told France 2 TV on Tuesday.

If 62% of the global population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines, there’s something to be said about these politicians failing to represent the 32% of people across the world.
