Citing “bullying” from the Biden administration that’s causing many private companies to impose COVID-19 vaccine mandates, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed an executive order Monday banning such mandates and has asked state legislators to codify the ban. “No entity in Texas can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19,” Abbott declared in the order signed at 4:30 p.m. Monday. “I hereby suspend all relevant statutes to the extent necessary to enforce this prohibition.” He noted that while “COVID-19 vaccines are strongly encouraged for those eligible to receive one, “ the decision to get the vaccine “must always be voluntary for Texans.” While Abbott previously signed executive orders prohibiting…
