He is natural and carnal because he relates only with the physical senses God gave Adam when He made him. He can not think spiritually because he is only natural and carnal. The Bible describes sin in many ways. Most simply, sin is our failure to measure up to God’s holiness and His righteous standards. WHY THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU The kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus made this clear when He said, “If this were my kingdom then would my servants fight for me.” John18:36. This is why in Eph.6:12 Paul said “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The arena we fight in is a spiritual one. Not a natural one. So, when Jesus said “the kingdom of God is within you”, it was relative to the new spirit birthed in us that He came to provide for mankind. Do you remember the passage in Ps.91 that says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”? Well, that was Old Testament thinking that was motivated by their confidence in the law. But, now we who have believed no longer dwell UNDER the shadow of the almighty. His presence now dwells IN us by grace through faith because God Himself has come in Jesus Christ. In Heb.10:1,2 Paul wrote, “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? Because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”…

“For God so loved the world” because “God is love” is absolute in the word of God to the believer. So is “Jacob have I loved but Esau I hated”. And these are not the mutually exclusives some may think they are. Cain and Abel in Gen.4, and Jacob and Esau as referred to in Rom.9, make it abundantly clear that God has loving fellowship only with those who come to Him by faith. And has always rejected righteousness by works. God is love. So it’s not love vs hate. Nor is it naughty vs nice. It’s love for God vs rejection of Him and faith vs works. And that this is the reason that Jesus had to die for our sins. To pay a penalty for sins so that by faith in Jesus His righteousness would be imputed to us to assuage God’s anger at mankind. One thing we must do as Christians are we must believe what the Bible plainly says so we can know God and what it is that God has done for us in salvation. Because when we believe what we have been told without confirming its truthfulness, as Paul commended the Bereans for doing in Acts17.11, from the plain teaching from the plain language in our Bible, we will set ourselves up for being deceived.
