Watchman: Daily Devotional, God Empowers and Equips Every Believer Who Trusts Him Enough to Act On His Word

Matthew 14:22-33 Sometimes obeying the Lord feels as if we’re taking a chance. Like Peter, we may find ourselves in a precarious situation, overcome by fear. Although life is filled with uncertainties, biblical truths never change. As we focus on them, we’ll be able to obey with confidence—not in our desired outcome, but in the Lord’s faithfulness. We can count on God being with us. It’s impossible for believers to live a single day without His presence because our relationship with Him through our Savior Jesus Christ is a permanent one (Heb. l3:5). God’s love for us is deep and abiding, and His promises are sure. When He calls us to leave our “comfort zone,” we can obey because He’s there at our side. God’s enabling power is ours. The Holy Spirit gives us divine strength to do what the Father…

Queen James Bible, Translated “in a Way That Makes Homophobic Interpretations Impossible.”

WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHING often know the Word of God better than the sheep…they count on the fact that most will not search the scriptures or test anything they say. This is the foundation of their deception, StevieRay Hansen. Homosexuality was first mentioned in the Bible in 1946, in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior to this—only interpretations have been made. Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands! “The edits,” say the Bible’s publishers, “all confirm that the Bible does not condemn homosexuality, and therefore renders such interpretations impossible.” While the King James Bible is the most popular English Bible, this new version, they argue, is truer to the…

TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE… The natural man of 1Cor.2:14 is the “old man” of Rom.6:6 and the carnal mind of Rom.8:6,7. He is natural and carnal because he relates only with the physical senses God gave Adam when He made him. He can not think spiritually because he is only natural and carnal. The fact that he is only natural and carnal does not mean he is bad. Because when God made Adam and the rest of creation He said it was “very good”. The creation including mankind was exactly as God wanted it to be. Natural, not spiritual as Paul said in 1Cor.15:45-48. Natural and carnal in that animals, birds, creeping things, and man all related to the world around them with the “very good” natural senses God gave them to relate with. But, because…

As the Great Tribulation Intensifies, Don’t Be Deceived. Your Only Hope Is Jesus!

You’re not here by accident. God loves you. He wants you to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus, His Son. There is just one thing that separates you from God. That one thing is sin. The Bible describes sin in many ways. Most simply, sin is our failure to measure up to God’s holiness and His righteous standards. We sin by things we do, choices we make, attitudes we show, and thoughts we entertain. We also sin when we fail to do right things. The Bible affirms our own experience – “there is none righteous, not even one.” No matter how good we try to be, none of us does right things all the time. People tend to divide themselves into groups – good people and bad people. But God says that every person who has ever lived…

WHY THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS WITHIN YOU The kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus made this clear when He said, “If this were my kingdom then would my servants fight for me.” John18:36. This is why in Eph.6:12 Paul said “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The arena we fight in is a spiritual one. Not a natural one. So, when Jesus said “the kingdom of God is within you”, it was relative to the new spirit birthed in us that He came to provide for mankind. Through the New Testament that Heb.9:15 says was given power through His death and resurrection. And not the natural world around us. Before Jesus came the kingdom of…

STOP HIDING IN THE SHADOWS- HEB.10:1,2

Edward

Do you remember the passage in Ps.91 that says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”? Well, that was Old Testament thinking that was motivated by their confidence in the law. But, now we who have believed no longer dwell UNDER the shadow of the almighty. His presence now dwells IN us by grace through faith because God Himself has come in Jesus Christ. In Heb.10:1,2 Paul wrote, “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? Because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.”…

Basics Pt.3- THE SALVATION OF ROMANS 10:9,10

“For God so loved the world” because “God is love” is absolute in the word of God to the believer. So is “Jacob have I loved but Esau I hated”. And these are not the mutually exclusives some may think they are. Cain and Abel in Gen.4, and Jacob and Esau as referred to in Rom.9, make it abundantly clear that God has loving fellowship only with those who come to Him by faith. And has always rejected righteousness by works. God is love. So it’s not love vs hate. Nor is it naughty vs nice. It’s love for God vs rejection of Him and faith vs works. This is what we see Paul and the rest of the apostles teaching throughout the epistles. In Rom.7 when Paul asks, “Oh wretched man that I am. Who shall deliver me from this…

WHY FLESH AND BLOOD CAN NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD- 1COR.15:50

By Edward O’Hara People that believe in salvation by works like the doctrine of original sin and sin nature doctrines teach are those who think that the reason man is separated from God is because they are bad because they have done bad things, or because they are accountable to God for Adam’s sin, and need to be made good enough to be acceptable to God. And that this is the reason that Jesus had to die for our sins. To pay a penalty for sins so that by faith in Jesus His righteousness would be imputed to us to assuage God’s anger at mankind. Making us good enough for God to accept us into His kingdom.  But, this construct is a rejection of what the Bible plainly says. Because the Bible says that it is only because we are natural, only…

Put.2- Augustinian ism; A Strong Delusion

Edward O’Hara As I said in my last article I will show here more details on the need for the atonement from the events in the garden… and more. One thing we must do as Christians are we must believe what the Bible plainly says so we can know God and what it is that God has done for us in salvation. Because when we believe what we have been told without confirming its truthfulness, as Paul commended the Bereans for doing in Acts17.11, from the plain teaching from the plain language in our Bible, we will set ourselves up for being deceived. So I won’t continue through the plain language in the Genesis account along with some other scriptures to see if that has happened. And how knowing the truth from what the Bible plainly says can fix that if…

FREE WILL, GOD’S GREATEST GIFT TO

MANKIND THE CHOICES WE MAKE… Edward O’Hara They are our choices and ours alone. Made by free will. The free will that is possible because God, who because He is love decided to make man in His image and likeness, gave us the power to make a choice not determined by predestination or fate or divine will, completely free from coercion or restraint. God, Himself tells us He did this for two reasons. 1. Love must be freely given and freely received or it is not love. And 2. because if the choice is not by free will then no one can justly be held accountable for the choices they make. And if it is someone else that has pre-determined our choices as the false sin nature doctrine that so many have wrongly been taught to believe teaches, or if…
