Instead of taking the prescribed route of separation, holiness, heavenliness, and testifying, the church had decided to build lavish temples and amass earthly wealth and power in order to civilize the world. Watchman: In the Bible, Thanksgiving The Bible is replete with references to offering thanks. “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name,” is what Psalm 100:4 exhorts believers to do. The act of approaching God with a grateful heart is emphasized in this verse. Furthermore, believers are exhorted to “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” in 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18. These verses emphasize the biblical command to always have an attitude of gratitude, no matter what our circumstances may be.
