Fani Willis, the district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, set out to demolish Trump for the wrong reasons; nonetheless, she ended up destroying herself.

The official articles of impeachment are currently being presented to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. H.R. 872 was introduced on Friday by Rep. Charlice Byrd (R-20th district), a Trump loyalist and chairwoman of the Georgia Freedom Caucus.

The ten-page resolution charges Willis with “acts of malfeasance, tyrannical partiality, and oppression” in relation to the “wrongful” indictment of Trump and his eighteen co-defendants. According to the resolution, her actions constitute “the severest case of gross abuse of discretion.”

Accusations against Willis include having an affair with the special prosecutor she appointed to probe Trump for suspected election tampering and paying him more than his colleagues, in addition to suspicions of collusion with the Biden White House. In his accusation, Byrd claims that Willis is utilizing it “not to pursue justice but for political gain.”

A news statement states that Willis is well-known for his pursuit of a high-profile prosecution against 18 individuals, including President Donald Trump, for exercising their constitutional right to challenge the validity of the 2020 election results in Fulton County and other parts of Georgia.

This right was exercised in order to challenge the legitimacy of the election count. The hiring of a prospective paramour in the lawsuit against Trump has also put Willis under investigation for a possible conflict of interest. Also, Willis couldn’t investigate Lt. Gov. Burt Jones during his race for lieutenant governor since she was his opponent’s financial backer, according to a judge.

“Fani Willis has an extensive list of potential conflicts that make her unworthy and unfit to be the District Attorney in Fulton County,” Byrd stated. It is assumed that someone elected to that position will maintain law and order and will not use their position for personal benefit. Fani Willis has brought shame onto the Fulton County and state criminal justice systems from the moment she was elected.

Willis has attempted to condemn Republicans for using their First Amendment rights by contesting election results and highlighting the obvious double standard, as pointed out by Byrd. Among the Democrats mentioned by Byrd are Al Gore (2000), Hillary Clinton (2016), and Stacey Abrams (2018), all of whom have cast doubt on the legitimacy of previous election results. No one was ever prosecuted or indicted in any of those instances for trying to investigate the legitimacy of the election or its results.

“The freedom of speech is still the foundation of this country, and Fani Willis can’t destroy it because she has Trump Derangement Syndrome,” According to Byrd. “It’s about time our state lawmakers draw a line in the sand and put an end to her failure to abide by the Constitution.”

Byrd further brought attention to the fact that Willis was in violation of state law because she owed money to the Georgia Elections Commission when she was sworn in.

There hasn’t been an impeachment in Georgia’s General Assembly in more than half a century, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. Even though Republicans control the state Senate, they lack the two-thirds majority needed to convict, meaning five Democrats must bring back a conviction in order to depose Willis-a highly unlikely scenario.
