Watchman: Residents of an Isolated Community in Arizona, Three Hundred Miles From the US Border, Were Prepared To Take up Guns in Opposition to the Governor’s Activities–Civil War Ready America

Three hundred miles from the U.S. border, a small Arizona hamlet was ready to fight the governor. Pretender Gov. In protest of the governor, residents of a remote Arizona hamlet 300 miles from the US border were ready to shoot.

Phoenix, Arizona Springerville, a small rural town in Arizona, has all the amenities it needs. RV parks, a general store, a small regional hospital, a supermarket, retail businesses, motels, and restaurants are open during the tourist season.

Town's nearest neighbor is 4,800-person Eagar. The next city, Show Low (population 11,732), lies 50 miles southwest over a vast range and golden hills.

Springerville mayor Shelly Reidhead , "We band together, which is the one thing I pride myself on with this little community." We care for and adore each other.

"When it really hits the fan, I hope that holds."

Despite being 300 miles from the US-Mexico border, Springerville nearly had an inflow of illegal immigrants last year.

If the border crisis worsens this year, Ms. Reidhead fears another confrontation with state officials. "I've been dreading the presidential election of 2024 because I know what's in store for us." This year won't be great.

After learning, residents were furious and ready to act. Locals who requested anonymity said some intended to install chain fences at the town limit to halt unauthorized immigrant buses. They would bring weapons if needed.

The massive, futuristic cage has many uses. Former wildfire victims used it as an improvised shelter. The Arizona governor examined unlawful immigrant temporary housing.

The town opposed it via motion.

On July 19, 2023, the Springerville town council voted "no" to paying immigrants' expenditures, legal or not, in a legally binding resolution signed by the mayor.

“What [the Biden administration] wants is a broken, chaotic country,” Ms. Reidhead said. “They’re doing a good job.” “We can’t even feed the people in the United States now. How are we going to feed another 8 million people?”
