A $1.2 trillion spending bill recently passed through the House of Representatives in the US, allowing funding to be allocated to recipients and policies that were previously restricted.
This includes allocating funds to support certain initiatives, such as a US CBDC (central bank digital currency) and vaccine mandates, among other things.
In a series of posts on X, Representative Andrew Clyde highlighted specific instances from the extensive document, which was released with a tight deadline for members of the House to make their voting decisions.

Clyde was one of the Republicans who strongly criticized the bill due to alleged backroom deals. He expressed concerns that Washington, which he referred to as “the Swamp,” is set to fund what he considers to be “catastrophic policies” with significant amounts of money.
The Department of State’s Global Engagement Center (GEC) is a subject of debate, as it receives funding to focus on foreign countries and non-state actors involved in “propaganda and misinformation.”
However, GEC has recently faced allegations that its actions have also impacted the lawful speech of Americans, which has garnered attention in the media.
Certain cases of this behavior, referred to as “government-Big Tech collusion,” are facing legal action. GEC is being accused of playing a central role in the White House’s attempt to use private companies for a form of control that the government is constitutionally barred from engaging in.
In his posts, Clyde discusses the concept of government control, specifically in relation to limiting spending in certain areas of the bill.
Another concern involves preventing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from creating a new entity similar to the short-lived Disinformation Governance Board, or providing funding for its revival.
Similarly, the ban on the Department of Defense granting or renewing security clearance to intelligence officers involved in the conspiracy theory surrounding the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, which was later proven to be false, is worth noting.
And finally, as per the congressman, the spending bill included a provision that prevented the Treasury Department from introducing a US CBDC or phasing out paper currency.
