WHO WINS? THE NATURAL WEAKLING… OR THE SPIRITUAL POWERHOUSE?

Edward O’Hara Sun 2/23/2020 12:33 PM… Have you ever noticed that when Jesus was with the disciples they never really “got” what was happening? Oh, they followed Him because they were sure He was the Messiah. But, they understood that to mean something very different from what Jesus came to do. Because they believed what all Israelites believed about Messiah. That when He came He would conquer their enemies and set up His kingdom right then. But, Jesus did not come for that purpose. At least not when He came the first time. And we who have believed know that He is coming again. This is why His Jewish followers were so despondent after Jesus died.  They were so clueless about what Jesus was doing that while living among them and teaching them every day Jesus found Himself asking them things like, “Are…

DID PAUL REALLY SAY MEN DO WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE LAW… BY NATURE?

Edward O’Hara Fri 2/21/2020 9:02 AM… To the unbelieving Gnostic, those who have believed Augustine instead of Paul, this is a problem. Because to them men are sinners by nature. So to them, it is impossible for man to do by nature what is written in the law. But, in this message, I will show that their fight is with God, not me.  Because in Rom.2 Paul says those very words. He says “the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves”. Many believe Paul is saying here that this is because God has written His laws in our hearts. But, I want to make it very clear that this is absolutely not what Paul is saying here. Because of 1. Jeremiah said that to Israelites…

HOW PAGAN GNOSTICISM BECAME ORTHODOXY

Edward O’Hara Tue 2/18/2020 9:44 AM… How did something as unorthodox as pagan Gnosticism, which John said was “of the spirit of antichrist” in 1John4:1-3 because it denies that Jesus came in the same flesh all men have, and Paul said would be the premise for strong delusion in 2Thes.2:7-12 because this is the perverted gospel the antichrist has used to deceive religious people since John’s day, become orthodoxy? Why do so many believe this naughty/nice Santa Claus paradigm as it concerns man’s need for a savior? Why does anyone believe the notion that it is because God is good and men are evil that man needs a savior? It’s crazy! It has happened as Isaiah5:21,22 said it would. Evil is presented as good and darkness for light and bitter for sweet. And pagan Gnosticism for orthodox. Isaiah says “Woe…

OUR SPIRITUAL HOUSE… A GLORIOUS MANIFESTATION

Edward O’Hara Sat 2/15/2020 1:48 PM… Paul wrote some incredibly inspiring and comforting words. But, none more so than these; “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the…

WE INHERIT A SPIRITUAL KINGDOM THE NATURAL MAN WAS NEVER MADE FOR

Edward O’Hara Thu 2/13/2020 2:46 PM… Jesus told Nicodemus “marvel not that I said ye must be born again”. Believe it or not, this is the answer to what happens when we die. Because only by new birth, a spiritual birth, is man-made ready to inhabit the kingdom of God. Because the kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom, not a natural one inhabited by natural beings like the one we live in now. So only what is spiritual can live there.  All men and the natural world men live in are natural, not spiritual. For the Biblical evidence of this one need only to look at Gen.1:26,2:7,7:13,14,21,22, 1Cor.2:14, 15:45-50 to see the Bible plainly teaches this. And since Adam was sent from the garden all of the natural worlds including mankind are under death’s power. They deteriorate. They corrupt which…

SAVED BY GRACE REALLY MEANS SAVED BY GRACE

Edward O’Hara Tue 2/11/2020 10:39 PM How is my doing works for salvation any different from me trusting in someone else doing the works for me for salvation? I mean, it still works no matter who does them, right? And what is it about salvation by works anyway that is so ingrained in so many people that they just can’t see works not being involved in some way in salvation? Why is it so easy for people to be deceived into salvation by works mentality? It is because most people are taught from day one that if they want something in this life they will need to work for it. So what it comes down to is whether we will have God’s wisdom, or man’ Thinking in terms of earning or working for salvation is not God’s method for righteousness. It…

WHY DOES DEATH STILL REIGN EVEN AFTER MEN ARE CLEANSED FROM ALL SIN?

Edward O’Hara Mon 2/10/2020 1:14 PM… In 1John1:9 John says that when Israelites confess their sins Jesus is faithful and just to forgive their sins and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. In Heb.9:15 we read that Jesus “is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” And in 2 Cor.5:21 we read “For he hath made him be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” So the question is since for those who have believed in Jesus all sin has been forgiven and cleansed, and the transgressions under the law were all redeemed by the death of Christ, and we are righteous in Christ, why do…

THE SOWER SOWS THE WORD

In Mark 4 and Mt.13 Jesus tells of a person who plants a seed in the ground. He describes the kind of ground the seed is planted in. And how it is the condition of the ground that is the critical factor that determines whether the seed germinates, grows, and bears fruit. This message can be heard at https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SlI8ix_aetM&feature=youtu.be After telling this story the disciples wondered what Jesus meant. Jesus answered them that it was for them who believe in Him to know the meaning of the parable. But, that the reason He told these stories this way was so that for others who would not believe in Him, those that Jesus said are “without”, that “seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins…

SANCTIFIED AND PURIFIED… BUT NOT FORGIVEN? HUH!?

Edward O’Hara Thu 2/6/2020 5:11 PM To understand the letter to the Hebrews we always need to keep in mind that this letter is written to well… the Hebrews, and not the whole world. This means that whatever it says, it says to those who were under the law to show them a better way. This is in contrast to the rest of the world who have never been under the law. Those who Paul describes in Eph.2:11-13 as Gentiles saying, “That at that time ye (Gentiles) were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” So the letter to the Hebrews was written to Israel to show them how Jesus was the fulfillment of that…

DEATH IS SEPARATION… BUT SEPARATION FROM WHAT?

Edward O’Hara Mon 2/3/2020 2:15 PM When I say death is separation it means that when death happens to a man who is not born of the Spirit he dies physically because his body is separated from the air that God breathed into his nostrils(Gen.2:7, Ecc.12:7). It also means the same thing when animals die (Gen.7:14,15,21,22). But, when a man who is born of the Spirit dies, not only is his body separated from the air that it breathed while he was alive. It also means that his spirit is separated from his body and goes to be with the Lord (2 Cor.5:8).  So from these descriptions of the separation that happens, that defines what death is, the question we should be asking is, where does the Bible ever describe a spiritual separation between man and God that many teach…
