THERE IS NO LAW FOR THE RIGHTEOUS

Edward O’Hara Wed 3/25/2020 4:44 PM… Have you ever heard the saying “THOSE WHO WILL NOT GOVERN THEMSELVES WILL BE GOVERNED BY OTHERS”? We see the proof that this saying is true in all those who wind up in prison. They would not govern themselves so now they are governed by others. Believe it or not, this is what Paul was talking about when he wrote that “The law is not for the righteous man”. But, who are the righteous Paul is talking about here that he says the law is not for? And if the law is not for them, then how is it that they are to order their lives so that they know they are living as God wants them to?  These questions stem from a misunderstanding that is created from what has sadly become the “orthodox” view…

THE KEY TO FAITH THAT PLEASES GOD IS… LOVE

Edward O’Hara Sun 3/22/2020 6:07 PM… Have you ever heard something that as a Christian just shocked you? Even though you already knew there were some people that thought that way? Even though you thought you had heard it all before? There is something about the cavalier way things are said sometimes that just gives it that extra oomph of shock value. Well, that happened to me the other day. Though like I said I don’t know why it should. Because I have seen so often how so many have chosen the deception of the antichrist over the plain language of the Bible since Augustine brought it to the Roman Catholic religion. And Martin Luther and John Calvin brought it to her daughters the Protestants.  That’s why I’m asking the question, is there any scriptural foundation for the Christian to…

A PROVIDENTIAL MEETING

Edward O’Hara Mon 3/16/2020 1:38 PM… I had a visit today that was completely unexpected. The car came driving up to my house with 3 people in it that I had never seen before. But, I knew exactly who they were before they introduced themselves. I immediately began to pray that God would give me the words to say that would be specifically what these people needed to hear. Words of restoration, reconciliation, and healing. And not of condemnation. The man that got out of the car had the customary booklet from the organization he represented in his hands. Ready to hand it to me as soon as he was close enough to do so. Hmm, I wondered. Do they get points for each one they hand out? But, I digress. When he approached me and just before he could hand me the booklet…

Lazarus and the Rich Man – Repentance, Forgiveness, Thankfulness

Steven Meyers Thu 3/14/2020 3:48 PM… “There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen, and who lived each day in luxury. At his gate lay a poor man namedLazarus, who was covered with sores. As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man’s table, the dogs would come and lick his sores. Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, and his soul went to the place of thedead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’…

WILL YOU EVER BE FREE FROM THE FEAR OF DEATH?

Edward O’Hara Fri 3/13/2020 6:18 PM… Everyone can see that death reigns, right? I mean, there is no argument from the most ardent atheist to the strongest believer against the fact that death currently reigns over all that we see, right? Because we can all see that everything decays and dies. And that death happens to all things whether animate or inanimate, right? Of course, we can. Even with our natural eyes, we can see that death reigns on this earth. So one does not even need to be born again, or “spiritual” as some think they can be by other means, to see this. And no one wants to die, right? Everyone if they had a choice to either live under death’s power and it affects like suffering, sickness, and sorrow, or have eternal life without any of the…

DOES THE BIBLE REALLY SAY EVERY HEART IS DECEITFUL AND WICKED?

Edward O’Hara Sun 3/8/2020 3:23 PM… Have you ever thought about or been asked the question, Do you think the man is basically good? Is this what you have concluded about mankind from what you know and have experienced? Does this seem like a reasonable conclusion to you since there is so much evil in the world? Does it seem that there couldn’t possibly be this much evil in the world if not for man’s heart being deceitful and wicked above all things? Or is this even the right question we should be asking? For the believer in Jesus, shouldn’t our first question be, What does the Bible say about this? Of course, it should. And this is the question we will answer in this message. First, let me say that all the scriptures like the one I just partially quoted…

HOW TO BE FREE FROM THE SLAVERY OF SIN

Edward O’Hara Fri 3/6/2020 3:47 PM… What do you think of when you read Jesus or Paul teaching about a man being a slave to sin? Do you think this means that because Adam’s sin was imputed to you that you are a slave to it? Or does that mean to you that this person who is a slave to sin must be doing something consistently bad that gives it control over him so that he is made a slave to it? If it is either of these then you have missed the point both Jesus and Paul were making when they spoke of the slavery of sin.  In John8 Jesus was speaking to Israelites about believing in Him. He said to those Israelites which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye…

LAW OR SPIRIT? TEMPORARY OR ETERNAL? TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER

Edward O’Hara Tue 3/3/2020 4:11 PM… Was there an eternal law in existence before the law was given through Moses? I mean, is the notion that some profess about a “moral law” that is eternal a Biblical notion? Can this notion be proved from the scriptures?  There are a lot of people who say they believe the Bible that thinks it can be. They think the law was even in the garden and that it was there from eternity past because to them the law is actually an eternal part of God. They believe the Bible teaches that there has always been the law that men have always been held accountable for keeping. And that when men do not keep it there has always been a penalty for that. Is this an accurate assessment of what the Bible teaches about…

DO WE FOLLOW JESUS’ GOSPEL OR PAUL’S? IS THERE A DIFFERENCE?

Edward O’Hara Fri 2/28/2020 2:51 PM… There seems to be some confusion among some who say they believe the Bible, about what covenant Jesus preached. They seem to think that the message Jesus preached is a message for New Covenant believers. And that to be a New Covenant believer we must follow the teachings of Christ that He taught while He lived as a man on earth.  I wonder sometimes if they must think that Malachi is the end of the Old Covenant and Mathew is the beginning of the New just because their Bible’s are printed with a division there. It’s not you know. There are even some that seem to think that when Jesus said the law and the prophets were until John He meant that He was now going to preach a different message from the one…

ARE JOHN’S INSTRUCTIONS IN 1JOHN1:9 DEAD WORKS?

Edward O’Hara Tue 2/25/2020 3:27 PM … Only if we make a tradition of men out of what John was teaching here. And there are those who have done just that by teaching that John is saying here that Christians must go to Jesus for forgiveness every time they sin because otherwise they won’t be forgiven of that sin. In fact, this is what is taught in most religions that say they believe the Bible. But by teaching this they show they really don’t. Because if this is true then how is Jesus’ sacrifice any different from that of bulls and goats? If men need to go back over and over again for forgiveness then Jesus’ sacrifice wouldn’t be the final once for all sacrifice that Hebrews tells us it was, would it? Because if His sacrifice was not sufficient…
